Chapter 119

"My lord, did you see? General Kakashi leads those reinforcements!" 

Fukyo came running into the tent that Kane was in. This was one of several that was given to their company. Kane had made this the meeting point. 

"I saw. What do you know about him, General?" 

"He is one of the Kokarian Kingdom's greatest warriors. He has perfected the Serpentine Inferno Batlle art. He has taught others the art and one of the other twelve is his apprentice." 

"Don't tell me. Her name is Boitata right?" Kane thought to the woman he had fought with twice and had defeated outside the Iron Rose Kingdom. 

"Yes, Your Highness. Do you know of her?" 

"Yes, I fought her once with your fellow generals while protecting the princess and another time when she attacked my kingdom. I was there when life left her eyes."

"Then hopefully Kakashi doesn't know. Or we could be real trouble." 

"Is he much stronger than Boitata? He seems stronger but not sure how different in power his battle art could be."

"Far stronger. Since he perfected it, his fire is hotter and far more deadly. Plus when his snakes engulf a foe, they grow and the fire becomes more ferocious. Essentially he becomes stronger the more he kills. And with his large amount of battle energy, he can sustain his power for a long time." 

"Shit. So this battle may be tougher than it already was?"

"Too so. I fear we may need to cancel this plan of attack, my lord. Not only because of the General but his troops looked far better off than the rabble that was here already. They are definitely veterans and I am positive they are not scrapped together. They must have come straight from the Kingdom of Kokar. 

"We are already too locked in. I fear we will just have to adapt," Kane said with determination masking any fear or doubt. This could be the defining moment of the war if he's lucky. Plus the system had been kind enough to give him some mouth-watering quests to complete. 

[Defeat General Kakshi and Lord Fullbuster. Reward: Mercanry troop contract, Mercanry troop building, (Random rank), 6 random tamed Magical beasts (Rank A), and two B-rank legions summons.]

It seemed that this battle had already been named and Kane was sure when it was talked about in history, his side would be the one telling the tale. And he also wanted to make sure to complete these system quests. The rewards were too juicy. In fact, they could straight up help him win the war. 

"General gather the men. Have them prepare and keep to the current plan. See if you can send a message to my men outside camp though. Hopefully, they can alert the White Sparrow forces. I must meditate." 

The general nodded and left right away. Kane sat down but instead of meditating, he looked through the system. He knew if he was going to win this he would need to invest a little. 

"BOT take out the instant learn scroll I have already for battle arts. General Fukyo would be more useful once he learns the battle art and Kane knew it would take too long normally. He had also learned it for himself, since it could be useful with his lance, maybe. At this point, he was just going to learn every battle art he could. He would be incredibly powerful once his battle energy catches up with his arts. 

"That's it!"

Kane realized his energy kept him away from his true strength. 

"BOT how can I raise my C rank battle energy? It makes it too difficult to use my high-level battle arts." 

[There are several ways. Magical artifacts and equipment, using shop points to power up the levels, and some other items that will boost your battle energy. I will say your battle arts are very strong and the more you add the more powerful they can become. You could spend most of your points to get rank A battle power but I am unsure if you wish to spend all your points on that. The 60,000 is a lot and could be very useful in a tight situation. This battle may need reinforcements that you could only get with the system. If you sacrifice the 60k you will have 2000 left. If you lose or get defeated your troops could have no way of victory.]

"Do it."

Kane didn't want to think about it. He had to do this. With his battle energy leveled to a higher rank, he could maybe go toe to toe with the other battle masters. There was little time and it was time for him to become stronger.

Kane became a temporary masochist as painful yet pleasurable energy entered him, flowing throughout his body. It was a strange experience and Kane even felt like passing out.

Once the process was over Kane could feel the battle energy boil inside every fiber of his being. He felt more limber, and energetic, and if he could see himself, Kane would swear he looked younger. 

"NOW this is power," Kane said with a smile. Looking back at the system screen, Kane saw something that made his smile even wider.

Kane had an inward celebration, took a deep breath, and walked out to give Fukyo his present.
