109 Chapter 109

Kane was admiring his diplomatic retinue. His carriage consisted of himself, Galter, and Akak. Othes had been left behind to keep practicing the battle art that Kane had fused as well as work with Skag to make an intelligence/assassination ring/guild to work behind the shadows to keep his power safe and growing. Kane had brought Akak with him as the man was a battle master and he wanted the time to explain his ideals and empire to the man. Kane understood how jarring it must be to have witnessed so many non-humans. Luckily during the trip, Akak was nothing but not accepting. He seemed to even gain more confidence and loyalty in Kane.

Outside the carriage, Kane had his newly summoned Crimson Cavalry summoned and escorting his carriage. They were a sight to behold. Their armor is a bright silver with red trimming and looked far more regal than his previous crusaders. It seemed that the B-rank really made them more powerful as Kane saw they were better equipped as well as had more ferocious energy surrounding them. He liked the armor more and would have the dwarfs make the crusader armor closer to this group. Kane also admired the captain that was leading them. He seemed far stronger than any other warrior he had except for the battle masters. The captain was an older man with a clean-cut goatee and broad shoulders. He led the group with a sort of regal presence that was accentuated by the large sword and shield that he carried. The system had really blessed him with this captain. After all, he needed more disciplined men as well as officers to lead them.

"I must say I am very curious to see this White Sparrow Kingdom. From what we've seen so far they are fierce and rather wealthy. Their kingdom must be vast and successful," said Galter.

"The people outside the Emerald Desert spend far too much time with their overly large and extravagant buildings. I am sure it will be different than the Kingdom of Kokar," said Akak with a hint of longing and annoyance.

"I am sure it is better here. The people seemed unhappy and treated poorly in the Kingdom of Kokar. Either way, we will see soon."

"Can you really trust an alliance with these people? I know you have fought with them but I have fought with people who have tried to stab me in the back later on," said Akak.

"No, it's never smart to put one's faith in an outside source but they have proved friendly and useful and we do need the help to defeat the Kokarians. We are far smaller than both kingdoms. We can ally with them but be sure to always be on your guard. Neither group will completely trust the other and we should always be prepared to fight foe or friend," responded Kane.

"Have no fear m'lord I stand tall and proud but also remain vigilant and vigorous. I will defend you from any who try to harm you. I am also prepared to lop off any of their heads if need be," said Galter haughtily and energetically.

"Although I am not as loud I remain just as ready to fight," said Akak with a fierce determination in his eyes. It seems the desire to regain his home and honor as well as give his sister a better life will keep him loyal to Kane and his desires.

Kane was about to respond when he heard the guard captain call from outside the carriage.

"Sir the city is in the distance. We shall arrive at their gates soon."

Kane gave a few words of acknowledgment before sitting back in his seat. It was quite exciting to go on his first diplomatic mission. He had to mentally prepare himself. Hopefully, all would go well.
