This novel is astonishingly good, a masterpiece of the likes as Lord of the Mysteries and Mother of Learning or even A Song of Ice and Fire. Too bad the translation is dropped and we'll probably never ever know the ending of the story. Higly recommend reading if above titles are of your taste.

I am very very very and depressed seeing how a gem like this isn't finished yet, it deserves a great ending buffeting of a great novel, I will always wait for the next chapter till I die or become a mystic

This is one of my favorite books I have read so far. The characters are likeable, complex and flawed. This book is of a exceptional quality and is definetly a must read for fantasy lovers.

Mc being weak ( has power but no clue abt using it) forces him to use his brain more often then muscles to get out of really sticky situatuons. But slowly he realises that despite all his efforts he is still a chess piece on a board which he really has quite less information about and lacks the bigger picture. Side character are not fools , and one minute antagonist can be next minute partner giving it more a realistic feel. As a reader you don't have to cope with stupid or cliche villians and you see all as humans and not another slab for hero to step on. This all makes it an enjoyable read if not already obvious by my tone.

This is one of the most compelling Novel that, I have read. Yes there is fantasy but most aspects are relatable. This novel is essentially, in my opinion a dark humour. It does not forget to mock the society and behind the scenes power struggle. The mocking is aimed for the powerful and affluent people in the society who are so concerned about keeping their jobs, that they forget to do their jobs. I will not go into the specifics as that would be spoiler. This novel has interesting plot points and twists that are truly difficult to gauge but, when you have think about them in the hind sight they were all simple solutions with prior events hinting and leading to it. I am pretty impressed with the world building and character development of all the characters of this novel and not only the main character. The main character is brilliant, strong and emotionally stable and has a decent background story leading it to it and hopefully more back ground plot is to be revealed but, at the same time the main character is neither the strongest or the smartest or always make the right choices. The MC makes mistakes, is plotted against and sometimes he prevails and sometimes he is caught in the plot of the others. At times the MC appears to have triumphed when it is revealed later that he was double crossed and was being utilised as a puppet. This further clears up the inexplicable behaviour of certain important side characters. The other thing that is very interesting here is that there is no antagonist, as this novel adheres to the real life principal of no truly good or bad men, no permanent friends or enemies, only each men struggling to survive and do their own best to secure their own interests. The novel has a dark tone to it as it deals with some harsher realities of life but, has comic reliefs in between. The presentation, writing and translation are very mature. Overall, in my opinion this novel is worthy of being acted and televised, I think! It is that good! Only disappointment is that, presently, there are only two new chapters being released every week. But, the chapters are very well written and translated and most times ends with a cliff-hanger and are longer than other novels which, releases updates more frequently. This is a great read! I will fully recommend this novel to other readers.

When I began reading this, I had expected a story that would be repetitive, simple, and brief. I thought that it would have typical reincarnation, cheats, stupid side characters designed only to elevate the invincible mc covered in thick glistening plot armor. But what I found was a story that brought characters to life, a novel that kept me awake at nights, and a book so full of surprises that cannot be found any where else. 1) This story only has grey characters. There are no character that are completely good and none that are completely bad. Its not like each bad guy got a sob story or anything but more like normal people doing what they thought best. One of the most brilliant aspects of this novel is that you really never know who truly is an enemy of the mc or who is truly a friend. 2) Sometimes I feel as if this novel exists to break all the cliched plots of other novels. It seems to make fun of the "immortal mc" concept alot. It also seems to make fun of the "kindness of the mc" concept alot as well. (not saying the mc is or is not kind but rather what is deemed as kindness). The perspective and introspection of the story is very unique. It goes beyond inspecting what the author feels as right or wrong, good or evil, it is extremely deep. Actually it made me question life at multiple points in this novel. 3) This story has humor. This story has great satisfying moments. I shall not go into detail as it would be spoiling. However I will say that the humor is actually quite... unusual. Typical chinese novel stories use alot of face slapping. Actually it is an overused tool made to gain sympathy and gather the plot for lazy authors. But if it is done really well.... Heheheheheheheheheehehehehehheehe..!!! At least thats how I feel or should i say felt whenever it was done in this story. The thing is, is that face slapping should be done in fast unexpected moment which is a point that seemed so natural in this story that sometimes i didn't even know it was coming until- Ahem! I shall not spoil. 4) The emotions in this book. Fellow readers, I'm sure all of you also can relate; the orphan, the betrayed, the bully victim! And etc. Sob stories are so common, the surprise long lost family member couldn't even take a break. But it is done really subtly here. Here, the author doen't flaunt the mc's grievances around made to gather respect. The backstories doesn't define the mc as it does in some many novels (that I shall not name) but rather it brings the character out and is crucial to the plot line of the book. Adding on, the parts in the story that were supposed to be sad were actually sad. There's a specific part that made me tear up, ya'll know when you'll read it. It was SUPER WELL DONE. How long ago has a story moved me to tears? The last time was when Anna became ice for Elsa. jk not rlly. The story is good at making me feel emotional whether it be joy, anger, sympathy, or sadness. Well, those were the main points of why I enjoy this story and will follow with its updates. A note about the romance componenant. It is there but at the same time, not there. That's the best explanation I can use I think.

Just dove into the story, but it is already on par with the great novels out there! The plot development, the characters all feel real, you just loose yourself in the story!

Only read up to chapter 15 so far. This should be sold as a hardcover book. Great worldbuilding and the characters have depth and are relatable. No retarded antagonists and an infinite cultivation with 18+ planes that just keep on giving, ad nauseum, the same face slaping narrative. So far i've read very few novels on this website with half the quality of this one. You should definetly give it a try if you enjoy fantasy, adventure, drama, or just want a fresh story. The translator made a couple of mistakes, but mostly related to distraction and verb conjugation(ie using "cum" instead of "come", which i found quite hilarious). No grammatical inconsistencies nor cringy sentences.

Read up to ch. 52 by now and i can say that this novel can be concidered a book worth publishing already!! Some say that this novel is abit slow or alot slow in progression, but its extremely detailed and very accurate down to some minor details that most people dont even pay attention to - every charecter is very well portraid and each of them have a different feel to them, they are all alive and have there own thoughts and complicated backgrounds, there own secrets, failures storys and many more, even a random passerby is a persanality - not a silly atempt to make the MC look good like in most web novels right now. The plot is huge the world is gigantic and very immersive - it may not be as fast and exciting like alot of chines novels that concetrate on fighting or face smaking etc. But it has a main plot and huge secrets that are hidden beneth the curten of lies and fears, which most web novels lack nowdays. For me the enjoyment that i recieve from reading this book is already on the level of such acomplished works like LOTR, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones etc. I bow down to Mr. Masterless Sword youre work is amzing and i love this book to death, hope you will be able to make it out there and this book will be published asap!!

One of the most boring novel I’ve ever read on qidian. The first book was a disturbing read. To the point where I don’t feel bad reading about Japanese invasions of China. I know many people say it’s necessary for character development but that’s what tags are for. Warn readers first because not everybody wants to read such disgusting descriptions on children deaths. And for some people that find the chapter awesome, you can go suck tiny Chinese hotdogs.

From the initial 30 or so chapters, this novel shows some promise. It has one of the most compelling first few chapters with an MC which is both relatable and interesting without falling into the stereotypical edgy MC. It has interesting (although somewhat predictable) plot lines and a great cast of likeable secondary characters. However, I do have some misgivings about it, mostly the writing style. Specifically, the way the story delivers exposition is simply boring and uninspiring which is dangerous since so much of the text is exposition. My largest fear for this series is that it gets bogged down in all this text and in the end, it simply becomes too slow paced and boring. I want to be optimistic, but the way these stories typically end up... Anyways, hopefully I'm just a bit too pessimistic. Great start to the novel. Hope for even better things to come.

Im just voting for this coz the other two available novels are romance which is not the genre im looking for . this is so tragic i wish they'd pick up a better novel tho. I would still give this a try so I'll edit my review later when i get a chance.

Written pretty well with great character design and development. Has the potential to be all time best at webnovel if its updated steadily and the story gets completed.

Awesome storyline and character development, some might feel it's dark but definitely a great novel. I dare say it would make a great anime series. I was very disappointed when the author took a break and since that time, I have read the 585 chapters twice, reading it for the third time now. Looking forward to the continuation of the novel and the amazing new ideas the author and his team brings
