Crowning of the Hero

Nothing but the plot is owned by me

I've been gone a while… I'm back for a bit. Idk how long tho. Lol

After much trial and error, Link decided it would be advantageous to have the help of this mysterious benefactor. If he is truly as powerful as he saw in his dreams, he'd be a great boon in bringing this calamity to an end.

"Where in the hell is he?" Link had been wandering the desert looking for clues on the benefactors whereabouts though word of mouth and was last seen in the Gerudo desert, apparently looking for a treasure trove of sort.

Unluckily for link, his sand walrus thing had been frightened away by a group of lizard people and a molduga. And now was caught in a sand storm. "Ugh, what the fuck! Why do these weather conditions always happen when least convenient to me. Like when I try and climb mountain ranges or lightning storm when I need my best equipment and armour…"

Hours in, it did not relent. On the bright side, this far in the dunes; Moldugas had long since died out due to the severe lack of food. By now it was night and by contrast to day, the nights where as merciless as the cruel sun above. Though at least the sand storms where gone.

What? What is that? In the far distance the a glimmer of light shone through the dunes, he continued to watch from his seated position by his camp fire finding it getting close. A man clad in metal and cloth (Sellsword armour DS3) strode towards link, torch in hand and surprisingly the figure seemed oddly familiar. Certainly not any wanderer he'd met, and certainly not beetle; he's not stupid. As he got closer he got a better look of the man. On his hip was two curved swords and on his back was a medium round metal shield not far off from the one's the gerudos used if not more worse for wear. Behind him was a what Link can only describe as a far off cousin of a horse (camel)

From the distance whistling from the person could be heard. It was a slow tune, but despite loosing his memories he senses the emotion from it, like a soldier reflecting on himself as he makes the long march home. (Journey home - Ace combat 5) 'huh, Kaz would like this one.' Link thought. Soon the mysterious man was in front of him.

"Well, link. It's nice to see you again. What brings you to the sandy dunes of the gerudo?" He sits down next to him, the camel behind him.

"Do… do I know you?" Link looked suspiciously at the stranger. Who wouldn't? Though he found his voice somewhat familiar, that was all.

"Heh, never expected you to remember anyway. You know me as the benefactor, but I guess you can call me Razgriz… or at the very least his ghost."

Link's eyes widened, he was the benefactor from before?! The one from two months ago! He looked so different without that armour he had on before. "I heard you where looking for a treasure?"

The visible mouth of the now identified Razgriz widened into a smile. "Indeed I did link. But I do believe they belong to you. After all, they belonged to your past incarnations."

He pulled out an outfit of green. It looked old, even older than hyrule itself but extremely well maintained.

"These, clothes you see before you. Was once adorned by the hero who's sword was pointed skywards, lead forward by the spirit within it, said to slumber within the sword to this day; yet still guiding the heroes of not future and past."

Link suppressed his emotions, he seemed drawn to this garb, yet he did not know why.

"I'm sure you've seen the inscriptions and carvings of what remains of the temple of time. It tells the legend of the hero of time who wore a similar garb to this. Much like the hero clad in green, who wields the sword that seals demise. They come when hyrule needs him most. And you, link. Are one of them like every other link who has come before you. The triforce of courage empowers you."

The world around link begins to fade as he holds the garb. Around him he sees every incarnation of… well himself, they looked at him with pity and indifference. He begins hyperventilating, it was overwhelming him, who where these people who look like him? Some where older, more weary, A few looked like children. Yet they have an air of experience and brokenness.

He felt a hand grasp his shoulder. He turned his head as quickly as he could. Only to see an older armoured version of himself, his skin deathly pale, an eyepatch over one of his eyes and his other sunken in. It frightened him yet… he had this odd feeling that everything was going to be ok. He did not know why but he felt at peace, like a weight he never knew he had was lifted off of him.

A firm squeeze from the man and he placed his helmet on his head, revealing his true form of that of a red glowing eyed skeleton. Frightening the young hero. The skeleton patted his back before marching forward. The other incarnations doing the same, giving him pats on the back and encouraging smiles, until only the first remained. The skyward hero gave him an embrace, one of pity and remorse, yet of comfort and confidence. What felt like hours was but a few seconds, he released the hug and patted his back, giving link a soft smile before too departing.

Link opened his eyes to see that only seconds went by what seemed like hours.

Razgriz nodded. "I see you've met your previous and alternate pasts?" Link nodded. "I'm glad you did. And now for the final gift… what is the hero without his shield?"

A beautiful blue heater shield was pulled form a pack on the camels back. It had the triforce and the hyrule royal family's insignia on it.

"This shield is passed down the royal family line. And that of the heroes who are fated to defeat the incarnations of demise."
