The Song of The Earth

'What is that?'

There was a Crack on the wall opposite to the door!

Approaching it, I noticed the Crack was about the size of a tomato!

I got as close as I could to it and used my left eye to look through it.

Outside, I could see the moon, slowly descending to let the sun take its place!

'There should be about 2 hours left.'

I concluded, before deciding to start my plan.

*Bang*

*Creek*

I repeatedly clawed and banged at the door, creating a lot of noise.

I waited a few seconds before clawing at the door again, until I heard footsteps!

The door slightly opened, but there was some sort of chain not letting it open fully.

Through the door, a thin nightguard wearing full black armor and an angry expression on his face looked at me.

"What the hell is wrong with yo-"

He managed to say before I used Deincarnate for the first time ever!

The guard's eyes rolled backwards and he fell to the floor, dead.

[Host has killed a Level 27 Human! 4,500 EXP gained!]

'All according to plan!'

As I had suspected, Humans had weak souls and bodies, causing them to be very vulnerable to Soul attacks!

Standing on my hind feet, I began crunching the small chain!

'This has a disgusting taste!'

I commented while chewing on the chain, it tasted like piss! Not that I knew what piss tasted like... of course...

*Cring!*

The chain finally broke, and I stepped out into the dark hallway.

Looking over at the Human corpse, I considered eating it but decided I didn't have time.

I Began wandering through the hallways, looking for a specific room, but while looking for it...

'Stairs!'

I found a descending staircase, likely going to the basement that I suspected was below the entire.

'Should I go check it out?'

I began weighing my options nervously.

'Screw it! Let's go!'

I decided to quickly go down the stairs, walking carefully as to not fall down.

To my surprise, at the end of the staircase was a completely empty room, besides an altar-like structure.

As I approached it, I found a small, golden egg...

[Treasure located! Would you like to temporarily store it in System Storage?]

The system quickly asked me, and as I was In a hurry, I quickly told it to do it.

Ascending the staircase at a fast pace, I continued looking for the room, before finding it very close to the staircase!

I approached the door and tried to open it.

'It's not locked!'

With no hesitation, I quickly opened the door and walked into the room.

Looking around, only the Golem's cage and the turtle's cage were present.

"We meet again, Young Aviseus!"

The turtle commented happily upon seeing my arrival, and the golem stared at me, as silent as ever.

"Quick, let's get out of here!"

I told him, and I tried to open his cage, expecting a lot of resistance.

But to my surprise, the cage door quickly slid open, freeing the turtle.

"Thank you, young one."

The turtle said slowly, as we were about to leave, my gaze wondered to the golem.

The golem was as silent as ever, but I could feel it hoping that I'd help it too.

After some slight consideration I stepped forward and opened the golem's cage, nodding it.

The golem nodded back.

'I have no reason to abandon it, as we are on neutral terms- besides, he might be related to the golems from The song of the earth, and it wouldn't hurt to get on their good side.

As me and the turtle quickly stepped out of the room, we began quickly marching towards the exit.

'It seems that against common belief, turtles are actually fast!'

The turtle showcased outstanding speed, even rivaling my own.

'It can't be faster than my flight speed, but it's just as fast as Me on the ground.'

I concluded with a slight smirk, My flight speed could rival the modern day models of helicopters!

"The exit is near."

The turtle told me, however, just as he finished saying that, we took a sharp left turn, encountering a group of guards!

Me and the turtle already knew what to do, and quickly prepared for battle.

I scanned the Guards, there were 3 of them- each wearing the same gear as the guard that I killed before but with shortswords in their arms.

One of them was much larger and gave off a more imposing aura than the others, so I assumed he was their leader.

Quickly attacking the weaker guards with Deincarnate, I killed one, but the usage of the ability tired me, and I couldn't use it again.

[Host has killed a Level 33 Human, +3,200 EXP!]

"I'll take the captain."

The turtle said, noticing my tiredness and causing me to nod in response.

I quickly began circling towards the guard, as he held his shortsword tightly in fear, not knowing what happened to his comrade.

After a few moments of tension, he leaped toward me.

"Die, you vile monster!"

He shouted while stabbing down his shortsword towards me, prompting me to take two steps back to avoid the attack.

The guard, surprised I dodged his attack, raised his head only to find a taste of his own medicine, As I leaped toward him and stuck my claws deep in his shoulders.

"Arghh! You basta-"

Before he could even finish the sentence, I clawed at his head, tearing through it like its butter.

[Host has killed a Level 35 Human, +3,150 EXP!]

The guard wasn't a terrible fighter, But while I was level 69, his level was 35, meaning my level was twice as high.

The level difference was too much for him to handle, even if I wasn't a full-grown Skyeus yet.

Looking back towards the turtle, I saw it busy fighting the captain.

"Let me help you!"

I Exclaimed while leaping towards the guard captain.

The guard managed to dodge it, but lost his Balance while doing so, and ended up falling down.

Before the guard could attempt to stand back up or say anything, the turtle stomped its foot on his head, crushing it with its titanic weight.

"Let us continue."

It said, leading the way toward the exit.

As we walked towards the man exit, we encountered a few more guards, but we killed them just as swiftly as before.

Finally, we arrived at the exit.

"It's time for us to go our separate ways, Aviseus."

The turtle said, while saying my name a bit loudly. He stopped calling my a youngling as a way to show his respect, after experiencing my prowess.

"It seems so, Turtle."

I replied while nodding, we each had somewhere we needed to go to.

"Can you tell me how to get to the elven kingdom, Turtle?"

I asked the question I've been longing to ask the entire time.

"Of course! Head north, towards the lake in the distance, it takes a few weeks to get to on foot- but by flying you're likely to get there in a matter of days."

The turtle explained with a warm expression, while signaling the direction of the lake with his head.

"I see, thank you, turtle! I hope we can see each other aga-"

I was about to bid my farewell, but was stopped by the ground beginning to tremble.

"There's no time, Aviseus! Go now, I wish you farewell!"

The turtle said urgently, as I nodded to him and began running before jumping in the air and flying over the dark city.

As I gazed over the empty streets, I couldn't help but feel bad, even if there were a lot of Terrible people in the city, surely, there were some good ones too.

'The golems wouldn't kill those who respected the earth, so it's up to fate and the past behavior of the humans.'

I thought, while the ground continued to tremble, causing a massive ravine to open in the middle of the city.

Golems poured out of the ravine like ants, destroying everything in their way.

It wasn't long before screams filled the city- It's unlikely there would be any survivors from this event.

I Shook my head as I continued to fly north, while watching the beautiful sunrise from far away.

Woo-hoo! MC is finally free! What do you think will happen next?
