1 The Fight to Protect 1

"HEY! There are lions coming towards the river! leave the clothes and tell the hunters who are on duty that the lions are coming!"

"GO NOW! I'll try to distract these lions! Don't stop running and don't turn back until you reach safely, in case they run straight to the village!"

The women were surprised to see Jack talking about the lions, but seeing how he was in a hurry and with an urgent expression the women in his village knew Jack well and knew he didn't lie started to run and the others followed.

Jack was scared and nervous because he had seen on top of the tree that he was three lions coming to where he was, and Jack had only one sword that he learned to use on his own, it was natural for a 16-year-old with only one sword be afraid of three lions.

But Jack was not by the river by chance, he always patrolled the place to protect women from several neighboring villages who used this river to wash their clothes, and he had a plan in case something like that happened.

Jack could see the lions coming down the ravine and he was close to a tree that was almost 5 meters long, Jack had prepared for him a bag with food and water for emergencies and some pepper bombs that he had made.

Jack had to attract the lions so they wouldn't go after the women and he wouldn't fight directly with the lions naturally, so Jack had prepared a mechanism on one of the trees in case of an emergency.

It was a mechanism with a heavy bag and a rope, he just had to drop the heavy bag from the tree and the rope would pull him up, even so, he was taking a risk being that three lions were coming.

Soon the three lions appeared far away and after seeing that Jack was close they ran towards him, the three lions looked very thin and must have been very hungry, when the lions approached Jack dropped the heavy bag on the ground and was pulled by the rope to above the tree.

Jack did everything perfectly, but he was still sweating cold and his heart was beating wildly because of the danger he was in, after all, if Jack made a mistake he would be dead, managing to calm down Jack looked at the lions that were on the ground.

When the lions realized that Jack had climbed the tree and that they could not reach him they roared in anger because of the hunger, Jack wasted no time and threw some pepper bombs on the ground and the lions were distracted by the smell of the pepper.

Jack did this to irritate the lions and so that they didn't smell the women who were running away and went after them, Jack was on a very thick branch to make sure he wouldn't fall and tied himself with a rope around the trunk to be sure and the lions circled the tree waiting for Jack to fall.

Jack had tied himself to the tree because he expected to spend the whole night tied up if necessary because even though he had talked about the lions to the women he helped, they might not warn the hunters and the hunters could also decide not to come to help.

He also thought that it might happen that hunters decide not to help that day and come prepared only the next day, Jack just hoped that they would not take so long because the lions could give up on him and go and attack the neighboring villages and if that happened it would be difficult for anyone to hurt.

If it took too long, Jack also imagined that his father would notice and with his influence the hunters would have to come to help him, but if that happened the hunters would have missed a great opportunity to kill the lions.

Jack kept waiting and annoying the lions so they wouldn't leave the tree, and after 12 hours finally, two hunters who were from his village appeared alone, they should be the last ones because Jack's village was the furthest from the river.

Realizing this, Jack's heart got a little colder after all the women certainly should have already arrived in their village and warned the hunters if no one appeared it meant that either no woman from the villages warned the hunters or it was the hunters who did not want to come to help.

He had risked his life to help women escape and yet no hunters from the other villages decided to help, luckily the hunters in his village were experienced and came well equipped with bows, wooden shields, and swords.

Seeing this, Jack, who was tired, recovered some energy and hoped that the hunters could kill at least one of the lions so that he could help in the fight and it would be two lions against three men.

Even though Jack was agitated, the two hunters were experienced and knew how to wait for the right moment and so two arrows quickly flew to the lions and so one arrow hit a lion's throat killing him instantly and the other arrow hit another's paw. lion seriously injuring him.

So one lion was dead and the other was wounded, the other lion that had not been hit realized the location of the hunters and ran to attack them, at this moment the arrows were fired again and one of them hit the lion that was injured and the other missed the lion that was attacking them.

So at this moment Jack, who had already untied himself from the tree, used the rope he was tied to descend from the tree quickly, taking advantage of the fact that the other lion had gone to attack the hunters, Jack was quick and ran towards the lion that had been wounded by the two arrows. and cut into the lion's throat with the sword using all the strength he had in killing the wounded lion.

As Jack made a quick cut that killed the lion he did not have time to scream and so the lion that was attacking the hunters had not realized that he was alone and continued to advance towards the hunters who were smart and were between two large stones protecting the passage narrow with a large shield.
