Noe & The Orphanage.

Floating high within the night sky was a city, a city lit up by multiple bright lights of different colors. Some were yellow, some were white. Others were red and orange. It was a sight to be seen, it was like the city itself was a star.

The rock it floated on was held up by magical artifacts created by an ancient race called Djinn. Where or what happened to them still remains a mystery, for all the people of this world knew, they could be in hiding...

Anyway, down on the darkened streets of Xyrus, a woman with long black silky smooth hair that reached her lower back could be seen sprinting her breath was panted and a look of worry and sorrow was held in her eyes.

She carried a child, a child with small, tiny strands of black hair, similar to hers, sprouted out of his head like a plant. Even though the woman holding him was sprinting at superhuman speeds, his sleep wasn't interrupted one bit.

'Come on, come on! Where is it!' The woman shouted internally. Her worry and panic began to show on her face as she frantically looked around the somewhat busy night streets of Xyrus. The passing civilians watched her with curiosity as she sped through the streets.

This continued for sometime, her emotions swelling every minute she didn't find what she was looking for, but when all hope seemed lost... Her eyes landed on what she wanted most. She came to a stop, sliding a few meters and kicking up dust and dirt.

Her panted breathing becoming more pronounced as a smile broke way.

"Found it... Finally." She said to no one in particular. Her eyes wondered back to her child before fixing themselves back on the giant overhanging sign of the wooden, stone mixed cabin.

*XYRUS ORPHANAGE!*

Wasting no time, she quickly wrapped her child in the blanket he laid in tighter, before moving to the door. Placing him down, she gave him one last kiss on his snow white forehead before whispering-

"Please stay safe... Become someone who will control their own destiny. I love you, we both do... Until next time little one." Before knocking on the orphanage door with strength that seemed like it would make the door cave in.

Loud, hurried footsteps came rushing towards the creaking wooden door. The woman smiled somberly once more before purple vein like lines appeared on her neck and left arm, with a single flick of her wrist, she vanished into thin air...

*CREAK!

"H-hello? Oh!" A timid, feminine voice sounded out in surprise once her eyes landed on the black haired, white skinned child. Her previous shock and cautiousness flew out the window as she quickly grabbed the child in her own arms and brought him inside.

Her auburn red hair dangling in her face, caressing the child in unison.

"Another one in the same night... Just whats going on..." She muttered, her eyes still glued to the shuffling child in her arms. Her gazing was brought to a halt when soft footsteps caught her attention.

The wooden floor bored creaking with every step.

"A-ah, head-mother. There was a knock on the door, a-and this child was left sitting there... So I brought him in.." The girl immediately began to explain the situation. The woman in question was of older age, already sporting wrinkles on her face and her hair having a grey hue due to the grey hairs growing in.

The woman smiled softly as she herself looked down at the sleeping child in her arms. This one had white skin, a little darker than the other child's, but something they both had in common was their silky black hair.

"It's okay, Maeve. I'll go put little Jaron to sleep and come for...?" She trailed off, waiting for a name. The girl, as if sensing it let out a little, 'Oh!' Before quickly searching the blanket.

"Ah, found it. Ummm, N-Noe? Noe. Thats his name." She responded, a smile on her face as she slowly started to rock the already sleeping child. Meredith smiled before nodding softly and leaving the room, giving Maeve and the now known Noe, some privacy.

2 YEARS LATER.

Inside Xyrus' Orphanage sat four people, three children and one elderly woman. Surrounding a breakfast table.

"Good morning, Head-mother... How did you sleep?" Maeve asked, her voice still holding her fatigue. The woman in question smiled softly before letting out a yawn as she nodded. Her eyes trailing from Jaron and Noe.

"It was delightful, which surprises me. I thought having Jaron and Noe sharing a room would end up bringing boundary issues but it seems that I was wrong." She said, her smile widening as she looked at Noe, who in turn, looked at her confused.

"Boundary issues? Like?" He questioned, his black pupils staring into hers, head tilted. Meredith felt like her heart was just stabbed by an imaginary spike.

It was so cute!

"Oh! Its nothing little Noe, just eat your food and go do your hygiene. Then you can go play." She replied, ruffling his hair. Noe grunted in displeasure but still let her do it.

She's been doing it ever since his hair had grown enough to cover his forehead. Didn't help that he grew fast, he's only two years old but he looks four.

"Headmother? Can I go to the study room to read books after breakfast? I'm almost done with my favorite one!" Jaron exclaimed, making his presence known. His eyes were pleading and he even hit the old lady with a lethal move!

Puppy eyes!

"Ugh!" Meredith clutched her chest, staring at the cute monster that was begging her to read felt like she had been attacked once more. She doubted she could last much longer if these two keep on doing this.

"Head-mother? Are you alright!?" Jaron quickly asked, he knew she was fine but well, he really wanted to go to the study room...

Meredith smiled as she quickly stopped clutching her chest. Her eyes drifted to Maeve and she suddenly remembered something.

Someone very important to the orphanage would be coming by sometime today, surely Maeve can handle this, right?

"Hold on dear. Maeve? We have some important guests coming by today. Do you think you can handle helping these two get presentable? It would mean a lot." She asked. She didn't want the Helsteas to come by and end up getting repulsed or something by the two of them, though she doubts that would happen since they've already met the two boys a year ago.

Maeve was surprised by her question, were the Helsteas coming by? If so then she would definetly need to help these two... One likes nothing but black while the other just throws on anything he can find!

"Yes! I have no problem helping them. Plus, this could be our little bonding time!" She exclaimed excitedly. Maeve, while being the second oldest in the orphanage is still a child, and shes a peoples person...

She likes getting to know people and making bonds. It's an enviable personality to say the least...

A/N!

First official chapter, what do you think?

I like it, took me a couple days to write it though.

Anyways, yes. I will be combining a few TBATE ffs into my story, one being Jaron Helstea from Sociophobia's story.

The other... Well, it's a secret!

Goodbye

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
