22 The weak

Crawling to her decapitated limbs, Tamayo tried her very best to heal herself and be in perfect condition, and not allow her master, Sukuna to see her in such a pathetic state.

She knew there will definitely be consequences for failing to dispose off those demons and being beaten to such a state, even with all of the time she had spent with him.

It wasn't her fault, really, the Jujutsu scriptures that Sukuna preached were just too abstruse for even her, and she had gotten no results even after spending all her time studying it.

The fact that Sukuna alone was able to create such a complex system and achieve near godhood with it was a testament to his immeasurable intelligence.

"Do you know why I detest weaklings to the core of my very being?"

Hearing a familiar voice and the footsteps behind her, she paused momentarily and sighed before bowing her head solemnly as if awaiting her fate.

"I apologise, Lord Sukuna. I was weak and lost to a bunch of feeble demons. I beseech you to take my life to purge the stain on your reputation."

She spoke, however Sukuna did not respond, and merely picked up a large rock and sat before her with his legs crossed and cheek resting on fist, as a smile adorned his face.

"That wasn't the question I asked you, now was it?" He asked and raised a brow, as Tamayo shook her head.

"Do you know why I took you under my wing, Tamayo.."

Sukuna asked and lowered his cross legged.

"I do not know, my Lord." Shivering at the first

time of hearing her name being called by Sukuna she raised her head to him, and watched the apathetic expression of his that sent shivers down her spine.

"It's simple. You're special. I can sense that cunning and treachery hidden deep within your heart, and I want you to bring them out. Strength is a quality of the selfish. To truly become strong, you need to care about only yourself and give expression on the true you on the inside…"

Bending over, so that his face and Tamayo's were in close proximity, Sukuna caressed her cheek and gently pinched her chin.

"I want you to become my right hand, my herald, and my sword. Now can you do that?"

His eyes glared deep down into the soul of the woman, as she unconsciously nodded her head in agreement.

"Hehehe. That's more like it. " Sukuna crossed his leg once more and then sighed.

"I asked you before. Do you really want to know why I hate weaklings with my very soul?" He asked and lifted his gaze back to the sky, as Tamayo shook her head in denial.

"It's because I too was once a weakling." He sighed, as a wave of nostalgia hit him.

"I completely detest the fact that most weaklings do have the power to grow stronger, yet they refuse to do so and still stay as ants for all their lifetime.

I was born in the Ubayashiki clan as was prophesied to be a special child. However, not only was I born with nothing, I did not even manage to awaken our clan's own bloodline gift. My parents tried to throw me away like garbage, however the clan refused, and even with that, I was deserted, ostracised and stigmatised, but through it all, only one person stood by my side. It's a shame she isn't here to see me now."

Tamayo finally detected a wave of emotion bursting out from within the king of curses, as if he felt almost grief and unsatisfaction.

"A few years later, I was beaten to an inch of my life and dumped in a forest by my cousins, a plot that was orchestrated by my own father, hoping I would be eaten by a wild animal, however I survived, created Jujutsu and grew far stronger than any of them could comprehend…

Absolute strength. I returned to the clan, several years later and killed every single person who orchestrated my exile in the most brutal way possible.."

Ending his story with a small smile, Sukuna turned towards Tamayo who seemed to be shocked at his words and scoffed.

"Now listen here. The next time you fall into such a dissapoiting state, and are unable to destroy any demon or demon slayer who comes to me to to threaten me, I'll kill you. Know your place.."

After speaking he stood up and walked away, leaving behind a shocked and determined Tamayo.
