The day of the king's visitation is fast approaching. Everyone became absorbed in the preparations. Everyone is cleaning, practicing an entertainment number, polishing every corner, and just making every area shiny.

"You're going to use the emergency stairs to get out of the institution," Virginia explained as she showed me the emergency door at the end of the corridor, which is locked.

I nodded and made a mental note of everything.
