96 The Confession

"Let me do that." Henri walked over to the kitchen sink and took the plate I was washing from me. "You shouldn't be up."

"Oh my goodness, I'm fine. I'm literally healed, Henri." I rolled my eyes at his foolishness. "You don't need to baby me every time I'm injured, you know."

"I'm not babying you, I'm just making sure you can safely get back to work." He side-eyed me. "What are you doing in the kitchen at this hour?"

"I was hungry and got distracted by the stuff in the sink." Was my truthful reply. It was maybe ten at night and I was starving. My appetite had been humongous lately and I had to watch it because no gym time meant I'd swell up like a balloon.

"You could've just told me. Do you want a sandwich?"

"I can make myself a sandwich and I thought you were asleep. Stop worrying."
