Chapter 19

I ran around my apartment trying to make it look presentable. Why did he decide to pick me up from my place instead of just meeting there? My dress was making it increasingly hard to run around. The way it hugged my thighs was not helping at all. What if I ended up having to fight someone? EvaLyn never told me what to do with my hair, so right now it was in a bun on top of my head. And I hated it. Strands of hair kept finding their way out of the bun.

Someone knocked on the door. I ran for it and opened the door. It was Lucian, of course. He stood there fixing his gold cufflinks. He looked mouth wateringly gorgeous. "I . . . Umm . . . Hi?" I stuttered. I found myself looking him up and down again. Lucian smirked at me. "Hey." He said in that husky tone that I had quickly come to love. "I need a minute to get ready. Come inside." I moved out of his way and let him step inside. "Lock the door for me. I'll be in the bathroom." I zoomed away immediately, not looking back.

(Lucian's POV)

I knocked on the door nervously. I've been inside many women's homes, but never my mates. And it was freaking me out. I started playing with my cufflinks to get my mind off of it. The door opened to reveal a goddess worth dying for. She wore a skimpy glittery green dress. The sweetheart neckline revealed the precious melons I desperately wanted to squeeze. The dress fit her like a glove, and accentuated her miraculous thighs. Even her hair. It was just a messy bun, but it looked so damn good on her.

"I . . . Umm . . . Hi?" She stuttered. I blinked hard. Stop staring at her. "Hey." I tried to say seductively. SHe blushed hard and looked away. "I need a minute to get ready. Come inside." My heart leapt into my throat. She just invited me into her house. Her house. Alone with her. My mate. She stepped out of the door frame and I walked inside. "Lock the door for me. I'll be in the bathroom." She called. She ran away before I could say anything. So I locked the door and sat on her couch. Everything in here smelled like her, but I could smell Everett and EvaLyn too.

Why the hell were they in her house? I heard Inayah drop something and let out a string of colorful language. I let out a chuckle. Then she went on about a man on her couch and how her mom was going to kill her. Then I heard the bathroom door swing open. She looked even better than before. With gold eyeshadow and jewelry plus ruby red lipstick, look looked drop dead gorgeous. A necklace rested just between her breasts with stones that mimicked the color of her eyes.

I looked away. She was just too beautiful. "Let's go." she mumbled. She clutched her heels and purse so tightly I thought they would break, she looked nervous. "Can you . . . Nevermind, it's stupid." She looked conflicted. " You can ask me. I'll never say no to you." I promised. "This dress is really constricting, can you help me put my heels on." She muttered, holding out her heels. I took them with a grin. "Of course."
