Part Twenty Two

In the mean time, Joseph felt really worried after receiving the call from Nathan.

'What happened? Is he okay?' he repeated to himself while looking at the phone. 'But he said that he's okay. Should I call him again?'

All the worries put a frown on Joseph's face. Instead of calling Nathan, he decided to shoot him a text.

Joseph : I'm really worried. Are you okay? What happened to you? Where are you now?

After sending the message, Joseph did not get any response from Nathan straight away. So he put his phone away. However, he kept checking his phone to see if he received any reply from Nathan even though he had notification turned on.

Not long after, Joseph finally got a text from Nathan.

Nathan : I'm fine baby. I'm at Ian's house right now. I just have something to ask him. I'll be back tomorrow.

Joseph replied immediately.

Joseph : By the way, what did your mom say about us? Did she accept it?

Nathan : I'll tell you when I get back tomorrow.

Joseph : Promise?

Nathan : Promise.

Joseph had a sigh of relief after getting a reply from his boyfriend. And now, all he could do was to wait for the next day to come. He went to bed as he did not have anything else to do. But without any cuddle with his loved one, Joseph felt isolated.

He stared at the empty side of the bed that Nathan should be sleeping on. Emptiness started to fill his chest but he could do nothing about it. He forced himself to shut his own eyes but he just could not fall asleep easily. The night became awfully long without the warmth from his beloved.

Same as Joseph, Nathan could not get a good sleep either. Both Joseph and his mother were extremely important to him. Losing either of them would mean losing an important part of his life. He needed to make careful decisions.

Nathan was in the guest room staring at the ceiling while thinking about the next step he should be taking.

"Arghhh! It's so annoying!" Nathan grumbled as he felt really frustrated trying to work everything out. He wanted to get some rest but all the trouble had been leaving his mind restless.

The long night eventually passed. It was six in the morning and Nathan had already woken up. Technically, he did not wake up as he did not sleep at all. Now, he was putting on his shoes and ready to leave Ian's house. He had already made his decision during the night.

He returned to his house.

He arrived at the front door of his house and he used the keys to get inside. After making sure that no one noticed him, he quietly went to his room and his own stuff. After leaving his room, he noticed that his mom's bedroom door was slightly opened. He peeked through the door and saw his mom sleeping alone in the dark.

"I'm sorry. Goodbye." Nathan whispered as he closed the door gently. He knew what he was doing now would make his mom upset but he had already made up his mind. All he wanted now was to chase his love.

Nathan did not forget to put the letter that he wrote at night on the kitchen table before he left. After that, he walked out of the house and headed to the park near his house.

He sat on a bench and texted Joseph.

Nathan : Hey, if you're awake, please reply to me.

After waiting for about half an hour, Nathan finally got a reply from Joseph.

Joseph : Hi! I just woke up.

"Finally!!" Nathan replied to Joseph's text at once.

Nathan : I'm coming to your place. Are you okay with that?

Joseph : Now?

Nathan : Yes. I'll be there in a couple minutes.

Joseph : Okay.

Without any hesitation, Nathan left the park and headed towards Joseph's house.

Knowing that Nathan would be coming back, Joseph immediately got up from his bed and washed up. After leaving his bedroom, he went downstairs and sat on the couch to wait for Nathan.

Not long after, Nathan knocked on the door. Joseph's eyes widened as he heard the knock. He went to open the front door excitedly.

"Nath-" Joseph was cut off by a sudden hug.

"I choose you babe." Nathan said with his face buried in Joseph's neck.

"What happened?" Joseph asked worriedly.

"Let's talk inside." Nathan pulled away.

Joseph nodded and let Nathan in. Then, they both took a seat on the couch.

"So... What happened?" Joseph asked again.

"I got disowned by my mom. She didn't accept our relationship." Nathan replied.

"Oh no..."

"But!" Nathan cut him off, "I won't let her be in our way. I've taken nearly all my stuff from my house. I will not go back until she accepts us." Nathan showed Joseph his bag full of his own stuff.

"I shouldn't have made you come out to your mother. If you didn't come out to her, you would not have to leave your house." Joseph frowned.

Nathan immediately hold Joseph's hands to comfort him, "It's okay! She'll know it eventually. It's just a matter of time."

"But where will you be living then?" Joseph questioned.

"Ian has a guest room at his house. I may stay there if he's okay with it." Nathan answered.

"Actually, I have a big bed too. If you don't mind, we can share it..." Joseph said timidly. He was so shy that he was scared to look in Nathan's eyes.

"Did you just ask me to live with you?" Nathan smirked.

"Maybe." Joseph blushed.

"If you and your family don't mind, then I'll be absolutely happy to live with you." Nathan smiled.

"Yeah!" Joseph shook his fists in the air excitedly. "Let's head to my room and put down your stuff!"

Nathan then followed Joseph to his room.
