78 Sumi’s Plan (2/2)

When the show finally started, both of them had quite a bit of fun seeing the dolphin, Ishutto, do its tricks.

"All right! It's time! Ishutto will throw some water!" The announcer lady announced and the dolphin did a backflip close to the stands, splashing water all over the first 4 rows.

"You did your research, huh Sumi? We've got the best view while being outside the splash zone."

"Mhm." She nodded with conviction.

Sadly for Sumi's preparations, the dolphin seemed to have a different idea today and did another backflip, this time after diving down.

When it emerged, it brought a wave three times as large and drenched everyone in the stands up to the tenth row.

That included Sumi and Kazuya, who were not completely drenched in water.

"Haha. Holy shit, this was fun." Kazuya couldn't help but laugh. He came to a water park, if he didn't get wet, he wouldn't have felt like he came to one in the first place.

When he looked to the side, he noticed Sumi who seemed to be shivering from the cold with an expression saying that this entire date has been ruined.

The first thing Kazuya did was to take off his overshirt and put it over her shoulders since her white school shirt seemed to have become see-through and he didn't want her bra to become visible to anyone else.

"I'm… so… sorry…" Her quiet voice was just so sad right now.

"I had a lot of fun, Sumi. You don't have to worry. We came to a water park, I'd have been disappointed if we didn't end up getting wet. Don't worry about it, you cutie pie." Kazuya hugged her waist and brought her closer to him.

At his touch, Sumi seemed to have lost all other thoughts and blanked out. She couldn't say anything and ended up leaning into his embrace.

Kazuya happily warmed this cute clumsy girl up.

'She is such a pure-hearted girl. Feels almost wrong to do this with her… Especially since I have a girlfriend… And a side chick. Capitalizing on her feelings like that is just…'

Kazuya was conflicted for a few seconds before deciding to not care about this stuff and go with the flow. He's done whatever he wanted in this world and he will continue doing exactly that.

"Come on up… Let's get a change of clothes." Kazuya pulled her up and kept her close to him.

"I'm in love…" She said in a very small voice, but Kazuya heard her perfectly since she was basically stuck to him.

'Shit! I'm not ready for this right now… We have to wait for a while, Sumi. I have to first do something so that Chizuru stops minding my relationship with Mami. I can't add you to the group right now without everything going nightmare mode.'

Kazuya could imagine Chizuru's reaction when she heard that Kazuya was taking Sumi as his 'mistress'. She would probably murder him for defiling her cute junior.

He decided to play ignorant to it and hoped that she was too shy to say it again. He would take the initiative himself, the next time.

"I'm sorry, what did you say? I couldn't hear it over the noise of the crowd." He whispered into Sumi's ear, making her shiver for a whole different reason.

"F-Fishing."

'Thank god she didn't continue.'

'Thank god he didn't hear… What would I say to Chizuru-san if she found out…' Sumi had been in a dilemma herself.

"That sounds nice, let's go to the souvenir shop first and get a change of clothes."

Kazuya didn't remove his hand from her waist and brought her to the souvenir shop.

"You look good, Sumi." She got a white t-shirt and a black overall skirt that went to her knees.

She just nodded without saying anything since she was still embarrassed about the previous events.

Kazuya had also changed up into a simple dolphin print t-shirt.

Next up they went fishing. Where Sumi caught quite a few fish before releasing them.

Kazuya caught none.

'I've never gone fishing… It's not my fault.' He comforted himself as Sumi patted his head while standing in front of him when he was sulking at the side.

"You're the best, Sumi." Kazuya couldn't help but hug her waist and rub his face in her belly.

"Eep!!" She couldn't say anything and ended up making a cute sound at the unfamiliar touch that she was feeling on her belly.

Kazuya wouldn't have done this if she hadn't said 'I'm in love' after the dolphin show. Since he knew that she had feelings for him, he was going to develop them.

They hung out for a couple of hours, enjoyed the rides, and went around the place having a lot of fun.

By the time it was night, they went to Odaiba.

'That's a nice final spot for a date…'

By the end, Sumi had lost any proximity issues with him and was comfortable with his touch. At least she didn't start steaming whenever he touched her, so he considered it as progress.

They sat together on a bench that had a pretty nice view of the night sky. Kazuya thought that it was a pity that there were so many more couples in the place. Instead of the peaceful stargazing atmosphere, the place seemed like a whore house with couples barely stopping themselves from going at it right here.

They were both sitting close together while Sumi had also noticed the atmosphere of the place and got very shy. Especially since she was sitting so close to Kazuya.

"Kazuya…" She seemed to be preparing herself for something.

"What is it Sumi?" Kazuya was pretty sure that she was about to kiss him.

She was shaking her head and seemed more embarrassed about everything.

Just as Kazuya was about to make his move after realizing that Sumi was too shy to do anything, she put her hand into her bag and pulled out a smaller cloth bag from it.

"Happy Birthday!" Sumi looked to the side embarrassedly and brought the bag toward him.

'Or that… I guess she still remembered that from the last time we went together.' Kazuya didn't know whether to be disappointed or happy.

"It's a hat… Nice. I like it." Kazuya put the hat on his head.

Sumi clapped like her usual cheerful self and showed that she was happy he liked her gift.

Seeing the hat and the mention of his birthday reminded Kazuya of his birthday, of how broken Chizuru seems about grandma Sayuri's situation.

Kazuya didn't let it show on his face but he was very vexed about the current situation. And being reminded about it didn't help, he was stuck in a spiral.

He wrapped his arm around Sumi's shoulder and gazed at the stars while deep in thought.

Sumi didn't see anything in his expression and thought that he wanted to gaze at the stars. So, she did exactly that. She leaned on his shoulder and admired the night sky with him.

'Dammit… I hate seeing Chizuru so weak and frail looking. I knew that she's always been a crybaby but she was not even crying. She just bottling everything up. Even if I fast-track everything with the level 5 AI, it's going to be impossible to get a fix for the uncurable chronic diseases without at least a few years of time…'

Although he was feeling helpless and weak, he didn't let it show on his face. On the outside, he was still the same Kazuya so Sumi didn't realize the kind of dilemma that he was in.

At some point, Sumi turned her head toward Kazuya's face while still leaning on his shoulder.

Kazuya realized it when he felt her breath on his neck. That brought him back from his thoughts.

When he looked at her face, it was mere centimeters away from his.

Kazuya naturally held the side of her face and leaned his head closer to her lips.

Sumi closed her eyes in anticipation of what was about to come and stayed like that, letting Kazuya guide the flow.

Kazuya guided her head to tilt a little and the moment their lips made contact, Sumi felt an electric shock travel throughout her body. She was about to open her eyes but then Kazuya slightly deepened the kiss, making her tightly close her eyes.

"Mhm~" She couldn't help but moan lightly at how good the kiss felt. After a few minutes, Kazuya finally pulled back from her. He didn't use his tongue and held back quite a bit since he knew that she was too shy and might directly end up fainting if he went too far too quickly.

He also planned to take it slow with her. For one thing, he wasn't even ready to accept her feelings for him. The situation was complicated.

Kazuya was going to take his time and wait until Chizuru was comfortable with him having Mami before he brought Sumi into the mix.

After pulling back, they both gazed into each other's eyes for quite a while.

"I…" Kazuya wasn't sure what he was feeling. But looking at Sumi's innocent and vulnerable face, Kazuya knew that he wanted to protect this girl forever.

After a while, they both left and Kazuya dropped Sumi off at the station and went home.

Kazuya had conveyed to her to keep their little kiss a secret from Chizuru which Sumi agreed to immediately since she didn't want to ruin her mentor's relationship.
