48 Kano

After spending sometime on the sea and using some of their supplies, it was about time for the crew to stop somewhere and restock on some items.

However with the island within view, Alyssia identified the location on the map and smiled. "We are finally here. Get ready to enter the docking area."

It did not take long before they reached their destination and secured the ship in place at the docks.

This docking area seemed to be available to the public and visitors but there also seemed to be another port which was more restricted.

In her view, Alyssia saw many ships within the restricted docking area that seemed to be more suited for battle so she easily identified that area as the military port belonging to the country.

What came into her view as she looked around resembles an ancient Chinese city with buildings designed and built with Chinese architecture in mind.

It also has several tall rock spires that surrounded the city.

She looked at the city off in the distance and spoke looking towards her crew members. "Welcome to Kano country or otherwise known as the country of flowers."

Much like how Wano had been based on Japan from her own world, the country of Kano was based on China and had many similarities to what she had seen on the internet about their culture.

Whether it was the architecture, the style of clothing or the various cultural differences that they had, it was much different from what they all had experienced during their time on the previous island and on Zou.

Alyssia turned to Alfred and said. "You will have the job of introducing us to different people and making connections but also helping to re supply."

Alfred looked determined to fulfil his role and replied. "Leave it to me, although we do not have a lot to offer this country, we still earned quite a lot of berries that we can use to purchase many things and make some connections with."

Alyssia nodded and then said. "Take what you need but make sure to leave some for later."

She turned to Tristan and asked. "Can you look into this countries medicine practices and hospital facilities so that you can seek extra help for Medea but also find a way to learn alternative solutions to treat people."

She then turned to Nica and Archie and spoke. "Prepare the wheelchair for Medea so she can be transported safely with Tristan, then you can either remain on the ship or help Alfred with his tasks."

She then turned to Clifford and said. "You can watch over the ship with Carrot for now but there should not be any problems."

She looked like she had just remembered something and then spoke. "I think we should try to enjoy ourselves but also remain cautious. This country has its own navy and has a powerful individual that is very dangerous. It would be best not to provoke them and remain on friendly terms."

The Happo Navy was not an existence that could be provoked and they possess high martial abilities and Haki which made the country an existence that was difficult to defeat if a war started.

Even after the their enemies had been supplied with weapons for years by 'Joker' who is an underground arms and slave dealer, they had still managed to fend off their enemies and also go to the country of Dressrosa to investigate the source of the weapons supply and were willing to go to war with one of the seven warlords Doflamingo who also had an alliance with Kaido one of the Four Emperors.

This showed that they were existences that could not be provoked even if their leader was no longer in his prime and the heir to the navy Sai still had around three years before he perfected his drill technique and inherit the navy from his grandfather Chinjao.

The first chance that she got, Alyssia wandered the streets while searching for places with high martial arts abilities.

Many small martial halls and military personnel that were within this country for her to learn from.

She found herself in front of a martial hall which seemed to focus on weapons and walked inside and said. "I would like to join during your busiest time so can you book me in please."

She did the same after visiting many other martial halls and then booked a different time for each of them.

Although she had purchased a lot of the information and experiences of those that were there whether they be instructors or the students, she may have missed out on a master martial artist so she booked an appointment during their peak time of training to take part in the lessons.

Martial arts wasn't just about knowing solely about her own style but it was also about discovering others styles and learning how to counter them with her own moves and strategies so she wished to use this time to absorb their best peoples knowledge and put it to use for her own purposes.

Whether it was one of the Chinese animal styles, drunken style, wushu, tai chi, wing chun or baijiquan that she had known the names of from her previous life, they all seemed to exist within this country even if it was just in a small and run down martial hall.

There were many different ways of fighting using their body or with various type of weapons so there was a lot for her to learn from them all whether it would enhance her upper or lower body martial arts, acrobatics, staff or blade skills.

However the style of combat that interested her the most was baijiquan which was commonly used by the Happo Navy and was used with the drill technique which she desired.

The use of the eight impact fist which imbues attacks with a vibration around the limbs and creates shockwaves is highly desirable for breaking through tough defences but also it suited her style of combat since the fighting style can be utilized on any limb of the user's body, whether it be the head, fists, legs, or elbows.

Whether it was an attack or defensive move using her heel or knees she could use this technique if she was able to get close enough to the Happo Navy.

However this technique also has a history behind it that is very important for the progression of the story for One Piece..

After Sai had perfected his dragon drill technique and joined the Straw Hat Pirate Alliance, the Happo Navy now had access to their vast treasures that had been trapped under a thick layer of ice.

That kind of wealth could be a turning point for any war that may happen in the future and after becoming Luffy's allies they had that vast wealth to support the war efforts and purchasing of weapons and medicines.

Alyssia however thought this way. 'In the past, Chinjao clashed against many big characters like Roger and Rayleigh but when Garp beat him, he damaged his head which severely weakened him and he could no longer use his technique to break the ice to get to his treasures… although he survived it still served a much bigger purpose to do this. Although he was a pirate, he was not as bad as most other pirates and did not get angered or become violent in his past but after that because of the loss of his ability to break the ice he no longer had access to his treasures. Without the fortune that was available to him, he returned to his home country and established his Navy there… but what if he still had that fortune along with his techniques? Wouldn't he be as powerful as others while in his peak and then return home with his fortune but also gain a high position within his country? I have doubts… would the world government or the navy have predicted a troublesome enemy rising up and planned to remove an obstacle?"

The existence of another 'Navy' that was not affiliated with the world government but the country of Kano itself which was a part of the world government was never a good thing for them.

If they established their own powerful navy with Chinjao as the head but also with the support of the treasures then they may also consider breaking off from the world government when they have amassed enough power.

The navy must of not liked the idea of another 'navy' being established which would cause confusion in the world and potentially steal some of their limelight.

So without the treasures and his peak ability, even if he returned to his country alive, Kano would only be able to grow so far on its own so that it could break away from the world government or the navy unless they had someone who could one day replace the Chinjao of the past but also acquire the treasures to support themselves.

Suddenly Alyssia had an idea in mind as she took out a piece of paper and began to write on it but then decided to wait to send it.

A crafty look appeared in her eyes. "Just you wait Chinjao… Conquerors, Armament and Observation Haki.. but also the prized technique of yours… I will put them to good use. Hehehe."

Was she tempted by the treasures?

She was but there was a limit to what she could do with it all unless she had the right purpose to put it towards..

However what interested her most was the unique skills or knowledge within the world and quickly earning many points to make up for what she will lose once she has purchased everything before she moves to the next destination.
