Kaleidoscope: Hope of the Blue Sky

The blue butterfly that flies with blue sparkling lights appeared again and circles around Azure as he stood still near the balustrades outside the balcony of his room, unmoving because of the unknown images that flashes inside his mind. Confusion washed over his body as he began to question "What are these?" Azure got out from the trance of the unknown images because of the diary that he placed on the table started to glow a blue light, from its pages inside until its cover outside. He walked near the table and was about to touch the diary when the single butterfly that circles him adds another one, then another, until it became hundreds, no maybe it was more than that. It was too late for him to realize that time stops and everything that surrounds hi became in dull black and white colors again when the uncountable numbers of butterfly envelope him and blinding him with its blue lights. His head ache where the small blue light from the other day entered, he grabbed his hair tightly as if it would ease the pain but he was wrong, it became unbearable like it was breaking his head into two. He let out a shout of pain that if time didn't stop, everyone inside the mansion would hear it, he can't bear the pain of his head that his knees gave up and he fell on the floor with a loud thud. As soon as he fell on the floor, he was gone together with the butterfly and the blue light. He was unconsciously lying on the bermudagrass of a house made of half-concrete and half-bamboo being embraced by the cool breeze of a morning weather, and was being surrounded by tall fruit trees a few meters away from the house, just enough for the trees not to devoured the house with its big roots.

Chapter 13: Butterfly effect and staying with her

Aurelius Azure POV

I laughed at how ridiculous I am in front of Asha.

Seriously Azure? Who would believe with what you said?

"Yes I am and I'm sorry I can't believe you" she replied apologetically and unfold her hands

"It's okay, just like you said, you only saw me last week across the street" I replied and motion my hands outside her window

"And you said also, I was here last night saying my goodbye" I continued and emphasizing the word 'goodbye' using the quotation mark with my two fingers in both my left and right hands.

I may sound sarcastic but I just want to vent out this feeling I had, the feeling of being looked at like a crazy person by one of the most important person in your life.

"Which I am certain, I was outside my balcony, sulking with all that happened to me and still mourning for you death!" I continued,

It was too late for me to realize that I shouted at her, and I regret it when I saw her stilled, not moving.

Maybe I made her angry, after all, no one wanted to be shouted at.

I ran both my hands on my face and sighed in defeat.

I shouldn't let my temper and frustration get the better of me.

With that thought in mind, I composed myself, readying to accept her anger for being shouted at.

"L-Look Asha, I-I am sorry, I shouted at you" I said and looked down, ready to accept any word she would give.

But few seconds has passed, she didn't, she was still unmoving.

That was the time for me to roam my eyes around, looking for any suspicious things

The surroundings didn't turned into dull black and white, I looked at the wall clock that I saw hung above the television when roaming my eyes.

It was still moving, I can even hear the birds chirping and the tick-tock of the clock.

I looked for any blue butterfly but I can't find anything, what's happening?

Blue sparkling lights raining down on me caught my attention.

When I looked up, there I saw the blue butterfly, flying in circles above me.

But I just disregard it and gave back my attention to Asha because it wasn't suspicious I guess

I snapped my fingers and I saw her furrowed, roam her eyes around like she was checking something, I don't know.

And then I saw her looked at the wall clock hung above the Television.

"Are you okay?" I asked and I saw how she looked at me like she believed in me.

Did she heard what I said earlier? Won't she asked anything about what I said earlier? Isn't she mad that I shouted at her?

I was about to ask her if there's something wrong after a minute of silence while she was just staring at me.

"I believe you now" she said and stood up to open her refrigerator and I was left in the sofa, mouthed opened.

Couldn't processed what she said. Okay? She believed at me? That easy? B-But how?

Well, if she did, then that's good for me. I can stay with her, right?

I looked to where she is and saw her scanning the inside of her refrigerator

"W-What did you say?" I asked just to sure that I heard her right.

"I said, I believe you now" Asha replied and looked at me after closing her refrigerator with two eggs and some tomatoes in her hands.

It made me stilled, can't believe she really is believing me.

I wanna shout and celebrate in happiness but of course, I wouldn't do that.

If I would do that, I would be a crazy man in her eyes.

I smiled widely at her and let out a breath of relief.

I saw Asha shrugged her shoulders and started to take a steps to her little kitchen maybe preparing food for breakfast.

"Sooooo, I can stay here, can I?" I asked cautiously because she may believe me but I don't think she would let me stay with her.

Asha glanced at me for a second and after a minute of silenced, she faced me with arms folded, face void of any emotions, then she answered "Yeah, sure but you have to help me with the house chores and financial"

She went back to chopping onions, how did I know that she was chopping onions? I can smell it and it's also making my eyes teared up.

"Oh yes I will help you. You won't have any problems of letting me stay" I was smiling like a kid when I answered her

"You'll be sleeping on the room next to the master's bedroom where I am sleeping" she said and pointed a door at the back of the refrigerator.

The door near to the bathrooms' door, so it is a room. I nodded at her like she could see me.

"Okay, thank you Asha" I said with a smile.

I heard her sighed and for the second time, she stopped chopping and faced me again.

"Don't thanked me, I only allowed you to stay because I want answers to my questions" she said while she opened up the cabinet below her to get some little bowls and went back again to chopping.

My smiles fade and I am sure if someone would looked at me right now, they would see the hurt written on my eyes.

That's right, what else would be her reason for letting me stay? Look at where my high hopes took me.

"Then, thank you for letting me stay" I said and smiled in sadness.

"You're welcome" she answered and glanced at me with a small smile.

I sighed again for the nth time. Wow, its magic that I haven't ran out of breath after all the sighing, I sighed again.

"You're cooking breakfast, let me help you" I offered but she declined saying she can handle it and that I can help by chopping some wood that she will used for cooking.

Asha led me to the back part of her house where tall fruit trees are rich.

The tall fruit trees give sheds against the sun and making the surrounding cool and refreshing, giving you a refreshing feeling.

A small open outdoor kitchen house that is connected to the center of the house.

There were chairs also on the inside of it but it was on the right side, its a best spot for sitting while waiting for what you are cooking to be cooked and enjoying the nature around you.

Just few steps on the left side is a knee length circular wood with some axe cuts around it, maybe it is where you chop woods.

And the axe was pinned on the center of it, there was also a ready to use chopped woods just a three steps away but it wasn't enough to be used as to what Asha said.

Asha also said she can do the chopping but since I wanted to help, she gave me this task.

Even after Asha finished cooking eggs with tomatoes and just waiting for the rice to be cook on the clay pot rice, she asked me to still chopped woods until we can eat breakfast.

She said it will be used later for cooking lunch and dinner and I won't say any word about it, I'll just take this an exercise and charging the chopping of woods to experience.

I was wiping the sweat on my face when Asha wasn't done laughing at me because of the result of the woods I chopped earlier.

It wasn't my fault that no one taught me to chop woods but when she demonstrate to me on how to do it right and after all the woods I already chopped.

I can say that I improved a little.

If earlier the chopped woods were uneven and sometimes the axe would not pierce through the thick wood, now I can chopped well and I can make the axe pierce through the wood.
