269 The Kidnapper Said What?

Early next morning, everyone gathered at Rosanna and Eric's villa, anticipating meeting Grandpa Lun. Most importantly, they wanted to make sure he was unharmed like Rosanna had said during the previous phone call.

"Aye. Everyone is an early bird. Even I'm barely awake." Rosanna patted her hand lightly against her lips as she opened her mouth to yawn. Eric, on the other hand, was already sitting on the couch with a magazine in his hand.

"Sorry, mom. We didn't mean to wake you up. We just want to visit Grandpa Lun and make sure he is okay." Selina explained, knowing her mother was not the type to get angry or petty about being awakened early in the morning.

"It's okay, dear. If you guys are hungry, breakfast is being cooked right now by the chef. Grandpa Lun should be awake at this time. He usually wakes up at 4 A.M. It's already 7 A.M. so he should be awake. Go knock on his door gently just in case he is still resting." Rosanna pointed to the second floor and directed them to the third room on the right.

"Yes! Mom, if you are sleepy, go back to sleep. We just want to talk with Grandpa Lun. Dad, if you're sleepy, don't pretend to read the magazine. Your eyes are half closing and you're tilting to the side." Selina chuckled after catching her father's head peck like a pigeon.

"Aye, my sweetie. How could you blow my cover like that? Anyway, don't mind us. Just go to Grandpa Lun first. I'll be here if you need anything." Eric shook his head and stretched when he heard her voice.

"Let's go." Selina smiled at the group of people behind her. After everyone greeted Rosanna and Eric, they followed Selina upstairs to Grandpa Lun's room. After seeing everyone heading towards the same room, the couple thought they should also join. Hence, the couple went upstairs and stood by the door to listen to their conversation.

Knock Knock

"Come in." A hoarse voice could be heard from the other side of the door, permitting Selina and the group into the room.

"Good morning, Grandpa Lun!" Altogether, everyone walked into his room and greeted him. They were relieved after observing the elderly in bed with his round glasses sliding down his nose bridge.

"Thank goodness you're alright," Selina commented.

"Yes. I am fine." Grandpa Lun smiled at everyone in the room.

"Grandpa Lun, can you tell us what happened when you were kidnapped yesterday? How did you end up in Selina's parent's garden?" This question had been stuck on Isaac's mind for a while. Since the kidnapper didn't plan on harming the elder and it wasn't for ransom, why did they target him to begin with?

Taking the mug by the cabinet next to his bed, Grandpa Lun took his time sipping his tea before responding to their questions. "We were talking about selling my organs in the black market. And I have no idea, but I fell asleep and woke up being surrounded by doctors. Oh, and Rosanna was swaying my wife's portrait all over the place trying to summon her to wake me up."

"...Grandpa Lun, did you just say ...selling your organs to the black market?? The kidnapper wanted to sell your organs and you sound so relaxed right now as if it is a joke??" Kyla studied the elderly's expression and saw a cheerful smile. When she heard his words, she subconsciously leaned towards Isaac's embrace to balance herself.

"It was a joke. We had a heartfelt conversation about how she will treat me if she wanted to harm me. It was the most relaxing conversation I've had in quite a long time with a stranger even though the topic is a little weird." Grandpa Lun chuckled, bringing his mug closer to his lips for another sip of tea.

"But your kidnapper could have meant it and you could have been in danger! This is no joke..." Isaac nearly fell speechless against the seemingly undisturbed man with a relaxed smile on his face. Meanwhile, everyone's face turned a shade darker after hearing his words.

"What did the doctors say about Grandpa Lun's condition?" Selina broke the awkward silence and a cough. She turned her attention to the door where her parents were last seen, only to find her mother falling asleep in her father's arms. Like a doting husband as always, Eric placed an index finger on his lips and carried his wife out in his arms.

"...." A smirk appeared on the group of guys in the room as if they acknowledged Eric's actions. Meanwhile, the ladies in the room let out a silent sigh and looked at Grandpa Lun.

Cough Cough

Grandpa Lun faked a few coughs to get everyone's attention. "The doctor did say there was something with my body...."

"?????" Creases appeared between everyone's brows as soon as they heard his cliffhanging words. It was similar to when readers get up to the most suspenseful part of a novel and the author decided to end the chapter there. They wanted to slam their palms against a hard surface but couldn't do it in front of the elderly man. Hence, they all waited for him to continue his words.

"The doctors said I had the best sleep in many years. I slept like a baby! Haha! I think I looked a few years younger after last night too. Ah!" He shamelessly touched his cheeks and grinned at the hand mirror he randomly snatched from the cabinet.

"So...What do you guys think about this kidnapping incident? Why did they choose Grandpa Lun of all people and not ask for a hefty ransom?" After a minute of silence, Michael decided to distract the crowd with this question.

Then, Grandpa Lun raised his hands like a kid and laughed heartily. "I know! I know why they chose me! Because I am too cute to be missed."

.Everyone: "..."
