311 Rosanna's Visit

- Friday Morning -

"Coming," Jason shouted from inside the villa. He was expecting a package delivery today between late morning to early afternoon. Before Selina's pregnancy, he used to have a doorbell installed. Now, he has a security device that alerts him when someone is at the front door.

During her pregnancy, Selina began taking more naps throughout the day. As her symptoms grew stronger, she couldn't resist the temptation of napping wherever she went.

To avoid her going around the house to grab her pillow and blanket, Jason started placing her nap necessities in possible places for where she could or would take naps. Sometimes he would find her sleeping by the window sill where he had added extra layers of cushions to make it comfortable for her to relax.

He turned his gaze towards the window where he could see her hugging her fluffy pillow. Her cheeks rosed healthily from the nutritious soups and foods everyone had gifted them.

Quickly, he went to open the door. Unexpectedly, the person he saw was not the delivery man. It was Rosanna.

"Mom? Why didn't you tell us you were visiting? I would've prepared food for you." Jason was surprised to see Rosanna standing at the door. He turned his head, looking around for Eric's appearance.

"It was a last second decision, so I didn't tell you. It's only me today. Eric went to attend a meeting, and I was bored. Is Selina sleeping?" Rosanna inquired, lowering her voice when she spoke.

Jason nodded and pulled the door open for her to enter the villa. "Come in, mom. It's chilly outside. The doctor said to be careful during this season because it is easier for people to get sick."

After entering the villa, Rosanna washed her hands and took off her jacket to settle down. While Jason brewed a fresh cup of tea for her, she quietly walked to Selina. When she was close enough, she carefully knelt onto the soft rug.

A trace of sadness surfaced her gaze, but it quickly dissipated. She couldn't believe the many years they've been apart and how she had missed out on her daughter's childhood. Seeing Selina's round stomach that rises every time she inhales made it feel surreal that she's already grown up.

Selina groaned in her sleep, tugging the blanket off her body. "Still sleep like a child," Rosanna chuckled. She reached out and pulled the blanket back in its place to cover Selina's tummy. Right when she was about to retract her hands, she paused.

Her gaze fixated on Selina's stomach. A frown stretched on her lips. She carefully placed her palm on Selina's tummy and stroked it.

When Jason came out of the kitchen with the cup of tea, he caught Rosanna's odd behavior. "Is something wrong?" Jason became alerted when he saw the expression on Rosanna's face. She had never made such an expression before.

Rosanna raised a palm to stop him from speaking. She then reached under the blanket and took Selina's pulse. After some minutes later, she finally tucked Selina in and exited the room.

"Selina is six months pregnant right?" Rosanna whispered while trying to remember the date they told her Selina was pregnant.

Jason nodded, "yes. Why? Is something wrong?"

Rosanna turned her worried gaze back to the room. "Though this is your first pregnancy, didn't you find the size of her stomach too big for someone who is six months into pregnancy?"

Jason was puzzled by her question. He did feel that her stomach was huge, however Selina also has a small frame. Therefore, he thought it was normal for the stomach to look big during pregnancy.

"She always had a small frame before getting pregnant. I just thought that maybe we fed her a lot of nutritious meals, so the baby is growing. The doctor said their health was good and there were no complications. Why? Mom, don't scare me. Is something wrong?" He panicked when he read her expression.

Rosanna shook her head. "No, there's nothing wrong. Although she is in a pact with her girls, you definitely need to know this piece of information. You don't have to tell her about it. It'll be a surprise for her when the time comes. However, you, as the husband, must know this because you need to schedule her to admit to the hospital earlier than her due date."

Jason looked at her, waiting for her to finish her words.

"Selina is having twins. That's why she is extra fatigue and eats more. She's carrying two babies. It'll get more difficult for her when she gets closer to nine months. I suggest you make an appointment with the doctor and make sure everything is prepared."

Just now, she had taken Selina's pulse to confirm her suspicions.

"Two? She's...We're having two?" Jason was stunned by the sudden news. He looked at his sleeping wife and turned his attention back to Rosanna. finally, he took a few deep breaths to calm his excitement. "I will speak to the doctor today. Mom, was this what worried you earlier? You didn't look too happy when you took her pulse."

He remembered the way she reacted, and it was not one full of joy. It was precisely because of her expression that made him anxious.

Rosanna sighed, "come. I'll talk to you in the living room. Although I am unsure whether it will turn out this way, you have the right to know. But don't let her know. I don't want her stressed out during her pregnancy."

"Alright," Jason's excitement faded the second he heard the seriousness in her tone. While holding two cups of tea in his hands, he followed her to the living room where he listened attentively to her words.

As their focus was on the conversation, they failed to notice that Selina had woken up from her nap. She wanted to call out to them, but when she heard Rosanna's words, she decided to stay quiet to hear what she was about to tell Jason.
