224 Kyla's Anger 2

Kyla spoke in a tired voice after crying everything out to her friends. All along, they only listened to her and didn't make any comments about the situation. Kyla patted her chest and shed more tears when she described how ill she felt in the past week. She still insists on believing in Isaac and hoped to hear something from him.

When he made dinner this evening, she already wanted to vomit from the dishes. She didn't want to have dinner and asked for an explanation. However, their argument ended in a cold war where he mentioned he was tired of coaxing her. Wiping the teardrops off her face, Kyla squeezed the soaked tissue into a ball. She blew her nose and tossed another tissue ball into the half-filled trash bin.

"If he is already tired of coaxing me when we are only engaged, then what will I become when we get married? I know he is tired from work, so I tried my hardest to not bother him. But I couldn't take weeks of silence from him. He didn't ask how I had been doing and only thought that everything would pass. I only wanted him to give me a short call, not long, even a minute is fine. I just wanted to know if he was alright. But now? Forget it."

"He doesn't want to coax? Then he doesn't have to do it anymore. He wouldn't have to force himself to coax me if I gave him back the engagement ring. He was the one who told me he would spoil me for life, yet he couldn't even do it before we get married. How could I spend a lifetime with someone who is tired of me?" She misinterpreted Isaac's words, but her unstable state made it difficult for anyone to speak good words for Isaac.

Even though Isaac was tired, the girls also believed that his words were too harsh on her. If any of them happened to be in Kyla's place, they would also feel heartbroken to hear his response.

"You've cried for a few hours already, here drink some berry juice and eat some snacks." Selina poked a straw into the juice box and placed the straw on Kyla's mouth.

Before Kyla could take a sip, a familiar sensation stirred her stomach again. She covered her mouth instantly, blocking anything from entering and leaving her mouth.

Celinda's first reaction was to grab a box of tissues behind her and handed it to Kyla. While Selina soothed Kyla's back, Jessica took the juice away and checked the expiry date to make sure the product didn't turn bad. As the two girls helped Kyla, Yi Wei had her own suspicions and searched about pregnancy symptoms online while observing Kyla carefully. From all the symptoms, everything seemed to add up and would explain why she was behaving weirdly.

"Kyla, do you want to eat some food? Maybe you haven't eaten anything, and your stomach is empty." Yi Wei offered some snacks to Kyla, but her nausea worsened when the garlic chips got close to her.

Kyla waved her palm repeatedly, indicating her dislike towards the snacks in Yi Wei's hands. Suspicions grew on Jessica and Selina's minds when they realized those snacks were Kyla's favorites. Even if she was in a bad mood, she would never reject these chips. The last time Kyla was sick, she still snuck a few bags of garlic chips into her room.

"Then, forget it. Is your stomach feeling unwell? Maybe your period is coming soon. You've been rubbing your lower abdomen for a while now." Yi Wei pointed out the obvious gesture.

Suddenly, Kyla's eyes widened in shock and her gaze lowered to her stomach. Her hand loosened from her mouth and covered her lower abdomen. "I...My last period was over a month and a half late. In a few days, it'll become two months since my last...cycle."

Everyone's eyes followed Kyla's line of sight and stared at her flat stomach. Chaotic chatters rose amongst the girls when they realized what the meaning behind those words meant and excitement couldn't be missed from their nervous actions.

Yi Wei calmly reminded Jessica, Celinda, and Selina that they could drive to the nearest supermarket to get pregnancy tests before making further assumptions. Since Yi Wei's driver's license was still suspended, she decided to stay behind with Jessica while Celinda drove Selina to the market.

Hiding the joy on their faces, Celinda and Selina made their way downstairs. When they reached the entrance, they were stopped by Jason, Bryan, Alfred, and Isaac. Selina frowned at the sight of Isaac because she worried about Kyla's condition. If she was indeed pregnant, then she can't be emotionally unstable.

Jason quickly asked, "how is Kyla doing? You girls have been up there for a while."

Smirking with an arched eyebrow, Selina crossed her arms. "Sorry hubby, but I have no comment." Her mouth was responding to Jason, but her eyes were on Isaac.

"What is this? An army trying to block our way out? We need to head to the market to restock tissues because some human waterfall is about to grow a rainforest in your room." Celinda pulled Selina's arm, trying to get her out of the crowd.

"But we have tissues here..." Jason pointed to the storage room where supplies were stacked on shelves.

"It's not the same brand!" Selina argued before slipping her feet into her boots. Before they left, Selina warned the guys to not go upstairs and disturb the girls. Otherwise, Jason would have to sleep alone in the living room for an undated period of time.

After the girls left with Jason's car, Jason mumbled. "This is my house..."

Bryan commented, "And she is your wife..."

"And I can't do anything about it. Like they say, happy wife, happy life. Good luck, Isaac. Even though you told us what happened, what you said was something you shouldn't have said to begin with. Anyone would get angry if their partner disappeared for weeks without saying anything. Kyla was right when she mentioned that you could've made a single call to tell her what was going on." Jason glanced over at Isaac whose eyes were glued to the closed-door upstairs.
