303 Kitchen Madness 2

Jason brought out his laptop and began typing across the keyboard. Selina occasionally heard the sexy keyboard coming from the living room area. Since it was an open kitchen, she would sneakily peek at her husband's hardworking expression. He would always have a stink-fart face when facing confidential documents.

She shook her head sillily before searching her phone for the food recipe she found recently.

While the couple worked on their tasks, Rosanna and Eric strolled in their garden. Hand in hand, the middle-aged couple walked to their porch swing. Eric held the porch swing in place and waited for Rosanna to sit before sitting down.

"It's been a while since we've had time to do this." Rosanna held Eric's left hand as she slowly rocked the swing.

"Yes, I can't believe we are already this old to be grandparents." He sighed as if it was just yesterday that his wife had given birth while their enemies attacked them.

"But I don't know whether we should be happy this early. Having a baby is a good thing, but you know..." Before she could complete her sentence, she found herself wrapped in his embrace. He hushed her quietly.

"Leave it up to fate." He whispered.

"But shouldn't we.." Rosanna wanted to bring this topic up.

"We shouldn't until it is confirmed." Eric smiled helplessly at his worried wife.

"I guess worrying about something we can't control is useless. When the time comes, we will tell them." Rosanna relaxed the tension in her shoulders and leaned on his arm.

In the Hui Residence, Jason read the documents through his iPad screen. While reviewing the content, he had his apple pencil in his other hand for feedback convenience. When he was about to close the current document and open a relevant file to confirm some details, he saw a shadow hovering before him.

He smiled, lifting his head to see his wife's hands in the air. She spoke slightly louder than usual, "Jason Hui!"

"Yes, wife? What do you need me to do? Don't shout. It is bad for your throat." He looked at her pouting face as if he could see smoke running out of her nose. She looked like an angry dragon trying to take over a city for a second, but he could never say these thoughts out loud.

"I called you a few times, but you didn't hear me. My hands are covered in sauce, and I don't want to waste it." She spread her hands out helplessly. It looked like a water creature's paw.

Jason didn't interfere with her sentence. He waited for her to tell him what she needed him to do. She continued, "Do you know how to tie a girl's hair?" To prevent any sauce from dripping or flinging across the room, Selina used her chin to point in the direction of scrunchies that she had piled in a tiny basket on top of a cabinet.

"Pfft, I know how to tie a girl's hair! How hard can it be? Watch me give you the best hairdo a wife can ask from her husband" He nearly patted his chest as he went to pick up a scrunchie from the basket. Though this was the first time he tied a girl's hair, he didn't think it would be difficult.

Selina turned around cooperatively, waiting for him to show off his fantastic hairstyling skills.

Ten minutes passed, and Selina's arms began to feel sore. She glanced at her almost dried sticky fingers and felt the soreness spread from her arms to her legs. Hesitantly, she asked Jason about his progress with her hair. "Hubby, are you done yet? I'm getting tired."

"Almost. Just a little bit." She could vaguely hear his gritted teeth as if he was not accepting the final product he created. She felt her hair loosening and tightening again.

"If you continue like this, forget about dinner for tonight. If you do this, I'll need to order some wigs." She was pretty worried about her hair when she felt him struggling with a simple ponytail hairstyle.

"Done..." Jason could sense the concern in her voice and decided to tie her hair up randomly. Selina let out a sigh before stepping foot into the kitchen again. However, not even minutes later, Jason heard her laugh. He didn't have to ask to know that she was laughing at the birds nest of a hair he created for her.

She teased him from the kitchen, "I guess our CEO has something he isn't good at. If we have a daughter, you better sharpen those skills. You wouldn't want her whining about her dad's handy hairstyling work. This hairstyle is on par with hip-hop-styled concert singers from earlier ages. Wild and very....blastingly..explosive..."

Selina didn't notice that after she said those words, Jason marked down on his calendar: "Note to self: order wigs and learn to tie wife's hair. And cute kids' hairstyles too."

As the couple immersed themselves in their own tasks, one side was entirely focused on a 15 inch screen while the other was busily jamming a new mix tape in the kitchen. Occasionally, Jason could hear Selina's randomly pieces tunes and lyrics. "Oh! Potatoes have heads and it is round and runny. It has legs of its own, oh look! Your tomato friend's slimy! And I throw you in for a hot hot bath before it turns you to stewwwww"

An hour later, Jason heard Selina's high pitched accelerating voice from the kitchen. "Dinner is readddaaaayyyyy!!! Da da da dunnnnnn"

"Coming." Jason closed his laptop, missing the mischievous smile on her face. He rubbed his stomach as he walked over to the dining table with high hopes for a great meal. When his gaze landed on the table, his sentence also stopped midway. "Honey, what's for-"
