310 Karaoke Art

The rain pitter-pattered on the window, knocking on the hard surface for attention. Several leaves danced its way across the gloomed sky, following the rhythm of the blustering gale.

Unlike the chaotic storm outside, Selina's inspiration was at its peak in the art room. She swayed her body like seaweed flowing in the deep ocean. With flamboyant colors tainted on the tip of her brushes, she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.

A soothing yet exciting melody echoed in the room. As soon as the music began, Selina followed its rhythm and spread her arms out like an eagle. Her head jammed to the music and her body slowly moved however she liked.

She brought the brush handle to her lips... and the karaoke session began.

Author's note: Take a guess on what song she's singing~

"The dishes are always better, in somebody else's plate~

You dream about eating their share, but that is a big mistake!

Just look at the cuisine around you, right here at your door~

Such yummy creations surround you, what more is you lookin for?"

She swirled the brushes on the colorful palette. Mixtures of wondrous colors splattered on the once clean canvas. Each stroke was decisive and smooth. If one were to peek inside, they will think that she was randomly doodling out of boredom.

As she continued singing, Jason stood by the door with his arms crossed. He leaned back against the door and waited for her song to be over.

"Hubby loves me~

Hubby watches me~

Darling, I'm hungry whenever its midnight~

Feed me the food~

Up where I suffer my baby's kicks..Out in the rain, my mind escapes~

While I'm focused, full time on eating~ Hubby loves me~~"

Selina spread her arms and swung her ponytail like a helicopter. With a final stroke, she added shimmering gold details to her artwork. "I'm done!"

Jason paused the music on her phone after hearing her announcement. He stepped into the room for the first time in hours. Recently, she's been inspired by Disney melodies and would create her own lyrics. The song she just performed a remix of was Under The Sea from The Little Mermaid.

Today's theme was on food, which wasn't surprising to him. There were days where she would chant lyrics about lobsters, crabs and other seafood creatures. At one point, she sang the Titanic theme song as if she was drowning in the deep sea because she was waiting for her food.

"You're finished with your painting?" Jason reached out to untie the apron from her back.

Selina nodded cheerfully. She pulled off the paint covered gloves and tossed it in the trash bin. Right after the apron was removed from her body, she leaned back against his chest. At this point, he had already tossed the apron aside.

As her stomach grew bigger, it became difficult to hug her from the front. Hence, he would hold her from behind or the side. He wrapped his arms around her and looked straight at where she was pointing at.

His eyes widened once again. Like the many times he had seen her completed artwork, it never failed to surprise him. The vibrant colors that not all artists would dare use were now mixed across one canvas. Somehow, the colors complemented each other and brought the painting to life.

If the paint wasn't still wet, he would've touched the canvas. In front of him stood a huge canvas that perfectly conveyed the complicated yet loving emotions a mother would feel for her children.

The second his eyes landed on this painting, his vision fogged. He felt an itch on his nose, but didn't want to show it. Even though they haven't met their baby yet, just the thought of how their baby is growing on a daily basis in her stomach made it feel so surreal. Time seemed to pass by so quick. He was already a husband and father-to-be.

"How do you like it?" Selina found his hands stroking her round tummy. His gentle touch was light as a feather as if he was afraid of hurting her. Her eyes watered when she saw the completed painting. It was exactly how she had wanted it.

She looked down and covered his hand in hers. "Baby, stay nice and cozy in mommy's womb okay? Mommy and daddy can't wait to meet you. In the meantime, don't sonic kick mommy too hard while you're there. Wait until you meet daddy. Then, you can kick all you like."

"Hehe, baby agreed. I got a kicking agreement." Selina chuckled when she felt the movement in her stomach. Likewise, Jason also felt the light kick against his palm. It was as if their baby was telling them to not disturb their sleep.

Jason bent down and met her stomach at eye level. He whispered, "be good. We will meet you soon. Don't give your mommy a hard time, okay? When you arrive, I promise you can swing your fist as you'd like."

"Aye, it feels like it's so far away from giving birth! I want to know my baby's gender. Why did I agree to Kyla, Jess, and Celinda's pact to not ask the doctor for the baby's gender? They could hold in their curiosity, but not me. I shot myself in the foot this time." Selina pouted.

Since their pregnancy was not too far apart, they decided to do a pact where they would not ask the doctor for the baby's gender. This way, it'll be a surprise for them. Hence, each time they visited the doctor, they asked the doctor to leave the sonograms in a separate file for them.

A loud growl rumbled from her stomach. "Ehe...baby is hungry."

"What would you like to eat?" Jason held her hand and started leading her downstairs to the kitchen. It became a habit for him to hold her hand and help her around the house.

Due to her small frame, her tummy looked huge when she moved around. Jason would always be worried when he sees her walking around the house.

"Mmm..I want to eat curry seafood!" Just imagining the delicious meal made her salivate.

Jason held her waist in a form of support as they walked down the stairs. He didn't mind her cravings at all. This saves him the hassle of thinking about the next meal.

"Alright, we'll have curry chicken for dinner then." Jason answered.
