321 Embarking On A New Journey

Morning rays penetrated the glass windows, bringing warmth into the villa. It was a sleepless night, many holding heavy hearts as they waited for Ivy to wake up.

Around 7 a.m., Ivy opened her eyes. Perhaps her eyelids felt heavy, it took her a few slow blinks to process what was happening around her. She rubbed her eyes with her small fists. When her vision cleared, she realized she was not dreaming nor hallucinating.

"Mommy...Daddy..Grandpa...Grandma..?" Ivy named them one after another. As a child, she often dreamt many interesting dreams. Sometimes, she felt it was surreal, so she wanted to make sure this was not another one of her dreams.

"Ivy, you're awake." Selina sounded so relieved when she heard Ivy's voice. Being awake was one thing, but being clear headed was another.

"Mm, I'm sleepy. Why is everyone here?" Ivy squeezed her eyes closed and shook her head, trying her best to concentrate. "Mommy, I'm spinning."

Rosanna slid her hand under the blanket to take Ivy's pulse. After a few minutes, she tapped Ivy's torso on several spots. "Sleep, dear." These were the last words Ivy heard before falling back asleep.

"Her condition is really bad. We need to bring her to the master. Grab your bags. We need to go." Under Rosanna's urge, everyone hurriedly went to load the vehicle with luggage.

Meanwhile, Selina went to wake Chloe up. After a quick wash up, Chloe was dressed and brought to the car where Rosanna was already in the backseat with Ivy in her arms.

"Ivy..." The sleepiness faded immediately when Chloe saw Ivy. It was as if she could sense Ivy's condition. She didn't ask any questions nor spoke. Her attention was fixated on her sister as the adults organized everything.

It wasn't until they were on the private jet that Chloe spoke softly. She stroked Ivy's hand. "Is Ivy going to be okay?" She asked Rosanna.

This question was insanely difficult to answer, and it was just as difficult to hear. "Mm. Don't worry. The master will know what to do. He will try the best he could." Rosanna whispered before giving Chloe a kiss on the forehead.

Selina held Chloe close. "Chloe, are you still sleepy? Do you want to take a nap? We'll wake you up when we're there."

"No, mommy. I'm not tired." She wanted to sit next to Ivy, but she stayed in Selina's embrace when she felt Selina trembling.

She turned to face Selina and wrapped her arms around her. With slow strokes, she patted Selina's back. "It's okay, mommy. Ivy will be okay. Don't worry."

The flight seemed to take forever. When they landed, all they saw was a rather secluded location. It was expected since Rosanna talked about it before. However, seeing it was different.

"The road is going to be rough and bumpy. Selina, can you carry Chloe? It'll take some time before we get to master." Rosanna looked at Selina with concern written across her face. She knew her daughter was holding back her emotions and wanted to make sure she was physically able to handle holding Chloe.

"I can. Dad and Jason can carry the luggage." Selina replied. She bent down and picked Chloe up into her arms, joining Rosanna's side.

"Then, let's go." Rosanna nodded after confirming that everyone was ready to embark on this journey. The path became narrower as they walked through the thick forest.

At first, the trees were like any other trees they've seen. However, as they continued walking deeper into the forest, the path becomes more narrow and the plants around them also changed.

They didn't question Rosanna as she was quite confident in leading the way. Nobody spoke a single word and just followed behind her. After a long walk, they reached a mountain with a clear waterfall. There was a pathway of stones that looked like a staircase.

Rosanna walked up to the steps and bit her fingertip hard enough for blood to drip out. Then, on a specific stone, she dripped a drop of blood on it. The blood was instantly absorbed into the stone and another route appeared in front of them.

The waterfall stopped and parted to two. Behind it, a door could be seen waiting for them. Rosanna took the lead once again. This time, she performed a quick martial art movement before slamming her palm against the door several times.

It was like a hidden passcode. As soon as she extracted her palm, the door opened and a tunnel appeared.

"Let's go." Rosanna stepped foot into the route. After everyone walked in, the door slammed shut and water could be heard pouring from the other side again.

At the end of the tunnel, sunlight could be seen welcoming the group. An elderly man with his hands clasped behind his back could be seen standing by the entrance. He turned around and greeted them. "You've finally come."

"Master, it's been a while." Rosanna greeted.

This will be somewhat new genre. Let's hope I don't make this too vanilla and can actually touch dark romance. Hah, rainbows and skittles are dark okay? -Who are we kidding? But let's see how it goes

Title: Mafia Boss's Silent Promise: You're Mine

Synopsis:

Have you ever wondered how fate is a huge joke? - I mean it, like a literal clown trying to make people laugh at cold jokes that not many would understand.

Ivy Hui-Clover was told at a young age that she can live up to 25 years old. And the only way for her to survive is to find her Mr. Right and... - well that's for another time to continue.

"Is it wrong to want to sabotage my own blind date?" Ivy slurped her boba milk tea and focused intensely on chewing the pearls. As she savored the sweet flavor, her fraternal twin, Chloe answered her question.

"What do you think?" Compared to her, Chloe had it easier when it came to looking for a partner.

"Then being a savage, it is." Ivy cupped her cheek, clearly in a good mood from having her favorite drink in her hands.

--

"Ivy went where?!" Selina's high pitched voice made her husband, Jason cover his ears. Rereading the note that Ivy had left behind, her left brow twitched unhappily. "Who told her Chloe was going there?! Nuh uh. No way! I need to send someone to get her back." She slammed the note against the table.

At the same time, fate played a twist on Ivy.

After roaming around the unfamiliar mall, she finally purchased a new laptop for herself. Her clumsy friend destroyed her old one in the most peculiar way anyone can ever imagine. As she walked out of the store, she bumps into a young man, causing her swirled glasses to fall. The stranger gasped when he saw her face and she quickly took her glasses from his hands before heading off the opposite direction.

Not long after, she found herself surrounded by guards in suits with a weapon in their blazer. "Don't move and follow us," the guard said.

"Interesting," Ivy smirked at his challenge.

--

"How did you get here?" His voice was so deep, causing ripples in her chest. It sent shivers down her spine, making her tighten her legs around his waist. Mark Williams was told that the girl he's been looking for might be found - his friend had run into her in front of the electronic store. However, she ran away like a frightened bunny. It was a game of tag at this point, and he had a time limit - to catch her before she leaves this mall.

In the midst of looking for her, he found a girl flying towards his direction - yes, flying. He caught her, and one of her mustache swirled glasses lens fell off, revealing her energetically innocent puppy eyes. 'It's her' His heart beat against his chest rapidly.

"I flew here." She replied. And this was the start of their twisted fate.

What would happen when she learns about his profession and realizes he wasn't who she thought he was? Yet, it brought her such excitement as it dragged out her crazy fantasies from her private library of Mafia Romance books?

The first chapters for this novel will be released next week :) Stay tuned! Let me know in the comments what you think of the upcoming novel.
