Just To Meet You

*COMPLETED* "If you don't believe me, then follow the family rules." Her eyes closed as she faced her fiancé's accusations and distrust. She inwardly convinced herself. 'This is the last time I'm giving my heart to you, Peter. If you choose her, then we are over.' With a blade in his hand, he charged forward. He watched as the sharp tip of the weapon meets her soft, porcelain chest. Shocked by her unmoving body, he pulled the blade away from the broken skin. Her white top was dyed scarlet while the blade had already dropped to the floor, making a "clang" sound. "Why didn't you dodge?!" Peter Sin attempted few steps forward to apply pressure on her wound. It hurt, but she held in her cries. Blood squirted to his sleeve and shirt when he forced the blade out of her wound. Holding the bloody mess near her heart, a broken smile cracked on her face as she retreated away from the man in front of her. "At the end, you still chose her words over mine. You've never believed in me, but it doesn't matter anymore. Let's break up. Even if we pass by each other in the future, we'll be nothing but strangers." He tried approaching her again, but failed as she strode backwards in larger steps than before. "Mister Sin, goodbye." "Selina!" He screamed, but held back from chasing after her lonesome figure. His heart was a mess as he fell onto the ground and stared at the blood stain on his clothes. __________________ Selina Gu drove straight home where she had prepared herself to announce her failed engagement to her mother, Katrina Gu. Pressing her wound, she slowly leaned against the wall to bring herself to the living room where her mom's voice echoed loudly. Selina: "So, all my life..I've been nothing but a chess piece. Are you done with your game?" Katrina: "...Daughter." Selina: "Daughter? Do you know how many years and efforts I've wanted to hear you call me daughter? But all this is fake. Just an act. I've always convinced myself I'm the one who could do better because I wanted to hear a compliment from you. But you? You've forced me to the edge and suffocated me!" _____________________ Katrina: "It's mother's fault! Don't jump. I'm begging you!" Bryan (Selina's brother): "Did you get bullied? Brother will protect you. Please, come back down! It's dangerous to stand at the edge! You don't know how to swim!" "I don't want to play this game anymore. I'm tired of my life. Didn't you want revenge? I'll complete it for you. Sorry, brother." Selina fell forward with her eyes closed. She didn't struggle as she desired to forget everything. ___________________ Assistant: "Mister Hui, after multiple investigations, we have confirmed that the girl you have been searching for is Selina Gu." _________________ Awakening from her coma after a month later, Selina woke up hearing a familiar voice by her side. Although she couldn't recognize him, her instincts told her he wasn't going to harm her. "Selina! You're awake!" Jason Hui tossed his laptop to the table, ditching the video meeting he was in and hugged her. "Does it hurt anywhere? Are you thirsty? Hungry? I'll go get a doctor!" He spat out countless questions, confusing her greatly. ________________ Jason held her hands, "It's okay if you don't remember me. As long as I remember our promise, that's all it matters. I won't let anyone hurt you anymore." _________________ "Jason Hui!" "Wife, if you're not happy about something you just have to say it. No need to shout. You'll get a sore throat." Selina pointed to the rubber band on the counter, "I forgot to tie my hair, but my hands are dirty from marinating meat. Do you know how to tie girl's hair?" A minute later, a messy ponytail was created and Selina looked at him with a speechless expression. Noting to himself on his calendar, he typed, "Learn how to do wife's hair." Dance With Me

Standing still, Justin searched for his target who was standing with a group of wealthy businessmen. Lucky for him, the big shots walked away, leaving only Jason by Selina's side. Once he realized Selina was several feet away and he was so close to accomplishing his goal, a lopsided smile carved on his face.

"Hey, you! Waiter boy!" Trang waved her arm in the air, calling out to him impolitely. The smile on his face quickly flipped into a frown at the way she addressed him. In a split second, a perfect smile appeared as he turned around to face the mighty heiress.

"Yes, ma'am? How may I help you?" With one arm bent on his lower back and the other across his stomach, Justin bowed forward slightly.

"I want this rose champagne. Remember, two cubes of ice with a slice of lemon on the side of the glass." She ordered, purposely looking around to see if she caught Jason's attention.

Unhappily, she showed a picture of the champagne into his face using her phone. After roaming around in circles, she found out about this champagne that everyone was praising about. Apparently, it was a new trending brand that most people she knew had tried. The price of the champagne was rather high for her standard. Hence, she chose this opportunity to put it under Jason's tab. As a guest and an investor's daughter, she felt that she was entitled to such treatment.

Almost rolling his eyes at the woman in front of him, Justin held in his temper. Inwardly, he promised he would beat her unconscious if he ever met her again. Since he has an important mission tonight, he will be the bigger person and temporarily let her off.

The minute he decided to respond to her request, his eyes captured the reflection on her altar pentacle pentagram — a star in a circle — shaped pendant with mirror fragments filling between the gaps. Each separate part showed Aaron and Michael's figure struggling in the crowd. Their eyes were deeply focused in his direction as if he was their prey.

"Miss, the lights under here is too dim for me to read clearly. Can you move a bit to the left where the lights are brighter?" With the blasting music in the background, she could barely hear his words.

"Fine." She grunted with a displeased pout on her face. Shoving her phone in his face once again, she failed to notice that his line of sight was on her pendant.

'As expected, I'm surrounded. This stupid bitch is a nobody since I've never seen her in the socialite circle. Even if she's held as hostage, it would be useless. The entrance is too far from here. I'll get caught if I run off right now, but Selina is literally right there. I could take her as hostage and leave. Risky, but I'll take it. What time is it now?' He read the time on his watch and smiled.

"Thank you, miss. May I kindly give you a reminder?" He looked at her with an amiable smile.

"What is it?" She crossed her arms thinking she had charmed him with her beauty.

"A dance activity will take place in two minutes. If you would like to participate in the dance, you should find your partner before it begins. I will retrieve the champagne you requested and serve it to you once the dance finishes. Kindly let me know your table number, and I will place it there."

His words sounded convincing, but in reality, he just wanted to brush her off.

She gasped when she heard about the slow dance activity that was about to begin. Without responding to his inquiry, she hurriedly skipped over to look for Jason.

Meanwhile, Aaron, Michael, Eric, Bryan and Alfred were having trouble getting through the crowd. There were too many groups of people gathered together. Though they weren't in large groups, the small groups of fours and fives were enough to block their paths to let Justin escape any time.

Aaron panted as he failed to get past another group of crazy teenage socialites who were talking about plastic surgery trends. Using Michael's shoulder as his support, he lifted his wrist and smiled. "We're in luck. Let's wait for another minute and these crowds will be partnered up. It'll be easier to get through. The slow dance will start soon."

With an arm wrapped around Aaron's waist, Michael pulled him in for a light hug. Annoyed by the crowd knocking into Aaron, Michael stood in front of him and shielded him from any possible physical contact with others.

A few steps from the stage's staircase, Jason stood closely next to Selina. Since she had a soft voice, he would lean over to the side whenever she made comments about the guests.

Jason spotted the obvious blush on her cheeks and asked. "Are you tired? Do you need some fresh air?"

She shook her head and smiled. "I feel fine. Who knows what mosquitoes will fly around you if I leave your side?"

Chuckling, he whispered. "With a flower like you around me, all those mosquitoes would be flying thousands of miles away already. Besides, if you're the flower, then I am the bee. I should be keeping the bees away."

"Pfft. You and your sweet words. Oh, right. I remember seeing a dance session coming up. When will it start? I can't wait for it." An elegant smile curved on her lips, pushing up her cheeks. Her eyes curved as a flaming aura emitted from her body.

"Hmm? It should start in under a minute. Wait, dance? Weren't you worrying over it earlier?" Jason blinked twice as he recalled himself soothing her nervousness over dancing. He even told her they didn't have to dance if she wasn't comfortable enough to do one.

In the corner of her eyes, Selina noticed an approaching figure. As the unlikable guest walked closer to the couple, Selina coquettishly wrapped her arms around Jason's waist. Bringing his arms around her back, she looked up adorably into his eyes. "Hubby, I don't know how to dance, but will you still dance with me?" The sweetness in her voice nearly threw Jason's rationality out the balcony.

She tilted her head slightly, "Hmm?"

"Of course. Even if you step on me a million times and my toes bruise up thicker than a gorilla's finger, I will still dance with you. As long as you're happy we can make our own dance." He circled his arms around her slim waist and marked her forehead with his lips.

Rubbing her face against his shirt, she sighed blissfully while staring at Trang. "Hubby is the best!" Within the few seconds of her intimate hug, Selina stuck the tip of her tongue out at Trang. In addition, Selina mouthed two words to her. 'He's mine.'
