1 Chapter One.

Lauren.

School, the place I always felt comfortable to do all kinds of crazy stuff despite all the restrictions, temptations, the feeling of being homesick, being far away from the family drama, parental destructions. I admit being in school wasn't that easy as well, more so keeping up with your own lifestyle and not the one that rest of the school expects of you. Putting up with all the judgments rendered just because of the people you hang out with but it was all worth it because you get the taste of the real first life. And honestlyI don't regret mine. It had been a week since this semester of my senior year had started. Just like always, I sat at my usual spot in the library with Jess. She was slightly taller than me with long dark black hair tied up as she always wore it every library day. She was always so indulgent which is one other thing I liked about her. And the way she always looked at me when I called her a milf which really wasn't my fault cause I took it on after some friend of hers who called her so.

"Lauren," I heard her call out my name. Unless I was delusional, I think it wasn't the first time she had called out to me in the past minute. Lately my thoughts had been going to places I personally didn't think would even come to reality. If you think you fantasize, then you should have a look at my thought book because I too, don't believe all that transpires in my thoughts but it really does no harm to think anyway.

"Sorry, did you just call me?" I mumbled.

"Hey, I'm guessing there is something wrong with you this morning cause you seem to be in too much thought."

Before I could answer, she was whispering into my ear.

"Here he comes, Here he comes."

She said it with so much euphoria. I turn to look in the direction of her eyes and whoa, it was him, the cutest boy in our accounting class. He was clad in a black sweat shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers which I guessed by now was his signature look. He was carrying his books on one hard with his phone to his left ear which was rather quirky.

"Then I will tell you more about it later." He hushed into his phone.

"Hey bitches." He called out to us with a smirk. Oh my God Oh my God, He was speaking to us. Since I couldn't find words to reply. I felt Jess kick me under the table.

"Hellooo." We replied in unison.

“So I was guessing I could sit by here today. Obviously if that's okay with you.”

Again cause I couldn't respond, Jess told him there was nothing wrong with it. So just like that the boy I had been thinking about whole morning was seated just across from us with his eyes down to his notes so was I. The only difference was that I wasn't really concentrated on my own book cause I was stealing glimpses of his.

I guessed he was reading something not connected to accounting.

As it was a library, everyone was minding their own business but Jess.

"So what happened to your usual spot?" I heard Jess ask him. He looked at us bemusedly. But even in his bemusement, he still looked breath taking.

"You're speaking to me?" he asked with a slight twitch at one end of his mouth. Obviously who else is new at this table today.

“Ohh, I just didn't feel like sitting by the window today.”

Which was his usual spot. Not that I stalk him but the window was quite visible from our usual spot. So we both looked at the window only to notice someone else sat there. Jess and I looked at each other with raised brows.

"Or you're just avoiding her?" Jess called out to him while gesturing to Carrie who was seated at his table.

“If that's how you see it then yes. Is it bad to avoid the most beautiful yet mean girl in school who keeps flirting with me all day yet I'm not interested?”

"Not at all." I replied. Of which he was right. Carrie was the most beautiful girl in school as everyone said but also the meanest girl ever alive. She always laughed and commented on everyone's daily outfit except for Corrie obviously whom she always told everyone was interested in only her. She always had that insatiable look whenever he was around her which always made me feel sick. And now hearing what he thought about her was rather flabbergasting.

"We are closing in fifteen." A lady's voice announced. So it was now time to pack up and go for our next classes.

"Thank you for the company," Corrie called out as he moved towards the exit before we even had a chance to think of a reply.

"Always." Jess as usual replied whenever I was in a daze. Just like that, he was gone again. Like everyone else, we stood up in total silence as I am guessing Jess was as gob-smacked as I was.

"See you," she called out to me and left.

For the rest of the day, I attended all my classes as usual and then left for my apartment which I shared with my roommate, Tess. I think I liked her on the first day I learnt she would be my roommate mainly cause her name was similar to that of my best friend, Jess.

“Hey Tess.” I called out as I entered the apartment. She sat on the couch watching *For You* which was some reality program she loved watching cause she had a crush on the main guy.

"Oh, you're back early today." She said back with her eyes still glued on her screen.

“Yes I'm early today but Jess will be picking me up in a bit. We are going to hang out at our usual for the evening if you want to join us.”

"No, thank you. Colton is coming over with a movie and I thought you would join but go on and have fun."

"Alright, I guess you have the whole apartment to yourselves."

I told her as I left for my room to freshen up. I fell on my bed

looking at the ceiling as I cooed, "what a day!" I just couldn't believe I liked the cutest boy in the class yet it was even impossible for him to look at me in any other way other than his class mate.

Not wanting to think about the impossibilities, I got up and readied myself for the evening out with my best friend and her boyfriend, Carl. In about five, Jess was screaming outside asking if I was ready.

"Out in a sec." I snapped back almost immediately.

"Bye." I told Tess as I moved out where I think she didn't even

notice me exit the apartment. I jumped into the passenger seat of Jess's car as we headed to our destination.
