Chapter 25 - Xin's Inheritance
"No matter what happen and no matter how much arguments we get into, I still hope that there will be someone there to take care of my old man for me. I hope that I can entrust this stubborn as hell old man to you. I love him and I do not trust the rest of my family in regards to taking care of him. He is self sufficent but still I will worry. Leaving him to you is the best option that I have now. Please take care of him for me."
With the final words being spoken with no way of rejection, Lawyer Fu came forward with a new contract as well as title deeds and placed them all in front of Chen Xin.
Chen Xin look through the documents not saying anything. After he has sighed, the documents, he looked at the old man beside him.
"Mr Chen, a copy of the documents signed will be encrypted and sent over to your email by tomorrow. The title deeds will be handed to you once the terms and conditions are fulfilled. Please excuse me Sirs, I will be heading over to the family room to start off the preparations for the next part."
Nodding, Chen Xin kept his eyes on the old man beside him.
"What are you staring at Boy? Am I too handsome or did I grew another head on top of mine?"
"Nothing of that sort, old man. I'm just puzzled why give me so much when you guys can just donate it all?"
"We don't want the other children and Grandchildren to know about this. They have been asking us to split up our assets amongst them since the death of your wife. I don't think I can handle this once more. Since they have no idea about the existence of these properties we might as well give it to you with a bit of a terms and condition so that I can be taken care of."
"Then what about Miss An Fei? Isn't she your favourite too? Why is she not getting these?"
"I'm not sure what my wife have set aside for that little girl but I'm sure it is not lesser than yours. I know she will be getting another cut after the will reading later. We both will be sitting in for that as witness. She will also be informed of what has been given to you since she missed yours. I'm wondering why Sarah did not asked Fei Fei to take care of me. Why did she assigned this block of wood to take care of me?"
Glaring at Chen Xin, Grandfather Shen complained.
"In any case, I don't mind that. I was planning to ask you to move in with me after this whole reading is done. Plus, a man taking care of a man is easier than a woman taking care of an old man. What if you cant walk and need to go to the washroom and Bulter Chu is on holiday? And I'm sure with you being stubborn, Grandmother won't want you to torture her beloved Granddaughter so giving me some benefits and asking me to take care of you is a wise decision."
"Hmmph. Like I care. I'm still going for my holiday around the world after I have trained up my own body. I won't want to depend on anyone of you any more."
"Now, don't need to be agitated. Let's take it one step at a time."
Knock Knock Knock...
Turning their heads towards the door, Butler Chu stepped in.
"Old Master, some of the guest has arrived. Shall I ask them to move go the family room?"
"Go ahead Old Chu. I trust you to handle them well. Give us a while more and we will be there."
"Very well Old Master. I'll let them know you will join them later."
"Xin, let's stay here for a little longer before we go out. It's going to be a crazy morning."
