Prologue

Sleeping peacefully in the middle of the classroom, minding my own business, I passed my time in boredom. My physics teacher's lectures were always the best lullaby for me. All the responsible students of my grade kept up with their studies and assignments while I and my friends always did postpone our work to the last second or sometimes just not complete it. My classes were as normal as they can be in my first year of junior college. 'Arjun!! Can you explain to me what the zeroth law of thermodynamics states, please?' he questioned me all of a sudden. Ronit was beside me and nudged me awake while my teacher was glaring at me with nearly zero interest in what was happening in the class. 'What?' I whispered to him with a perplexed expression and he pointed towards the front of the classroom. I lazily stood up and acting as naturally I can, 'Sorry sir, but could you please repeat the question? I was trying to write down some notes for myself here'. He still didn't show any kind of interest in me but he simply repeated his question to me. 'Ahh yes sir, zeroth law right? It states that when there are two systems separated by an adiabatic wall and are connected by a third system, equilibrium between the two systems is achieved by change in their states with respect to the third system' I answered him with the same amount of interest that he has. 'That is a good explanation but if you really want to understand it properly, pay more attention to class, alright'. 'Yes sir' I replied and went back to my sleep as soon as he turned back.
