2 Transmigrated

In a dream...

Where am I? All I could see was darkness when suddenly a bright light flashed and I heard a high-pitched voice echo from all directions.

"Brandon!" a girlish voice screamed.

Feeling small hands gripping my torso and shaking me.

I awoke with a start only to notice I was no longer on concrete but grass?

Looking around I realized I was in a forest.

I turned my face and saw a small blonde haired girl that looked around 7 with tears in her eyes holding me.

"I'm so sorry- I was just..you were the bad guy and then.."

Not really understanding what was happening on several levels, I did what anyone should do.

"It's alright just tell me what happened," I told her softly.

Trying to get up I noticed I wasn't able to and how her small hands had a vice-like grip holding me down.

Looking at her again I can see that she's now sobbing with her face pressed onto my utopian shirt.

Wait the Utopian!?

That random Netflix series I watched after a bit of wine because I was too tired from working on automating customer service.

My head began to throb as various memories suddenly rushed into my head and what I saw made me sick but I didn't even get a chance to sort out my thoughts.

When suddenly a boom could be heard in the sky and there looking up I saw utopian hovering just above me and my sibling in all his white and red tight glory with a righteous but concerned look on his face like an equally ridiculous yet still cheap knock-off of superman.

"Chloe what did I say about using your powers!" he shouted with a fanatical look in his eyes spittle flying at us.

Chloe started to hug me tighter and it became a lot harder to breathe as she sobbed deeper onto my side.

Having enough of the situation I engaged this poor excuse of a father.

"Dad she's sorry I know she didn't mean anything by it can we just go home now please."

Utopian finally stopped hovering condescendingly and walked over while speaking.

"You need to be tougher than that if your gonna protect humanity, how do you expect to follow the code, with such weak convictions."

At this point, I'm not even sure who he was directing that towards me or my sister probably both.

Before I could respond.

"I'm taking you two to your mother."

Huh, guess he did have some sense in him when he wanted to.

He picked us up like a sack of potatoes and began to float and after a while, a sonic boom could be heard as we flew across the sky, and in a few seconds, we arrived at the Sampson residence.

It was a modest home for someone with such abilities but a decent one with ample space in the surrounding farmland made one think why the authors of the series make such a superman cliche.

The invincible hero lives on a farm of all things.

Shaking my head, I noticed my father gave me an odd look but said nothing before speeding off again to deal with whatever third rate criminal or peasant rescue he decided to deal with.

My sister mostly done with her emotional outburst sniffled on the side.

A knock on the door later I was embraced in a blur that I could barely make out.

"Oh my baby, are you okay, I heard what happened."

Huh, how did she hear what happened if we were dozens of miles away? Oh yeah, superpowers are a thing now.

"I'm fine mom Chloe is who I'm worried about"

Well not really I just thought it'd be a good idea to ingratiate myself with a monster in sheep's clothing plus she was fairly attractive.

Our mom was a beautiful woman with white skin rosy cheeks and black hair although she was fairly skinny you could see the tightness of her clothes which hid the toned refined muscles within.

Mom looked me in the eye and as if confirming I was ok with a nod began to console my sister giving me time to sort out my thoughts.

So first off, I started pinching myself and breathing deeply while imagining waking up in a hospital.

Nothing changed, so I'm not dreaming.

I was Brandon Sampson Son of Utopian the next in line to be the symbol of world peace and follow the code.

If I wasn't worried about how my family would see me I would start to burst out laughing at the situation.

How amusing, whatever was responsible for bringing me here must have known I wouldn't stand for this.

In my old world, I had long trained myself to cut out most of my feelings if needed.

I once read psychopaths were high performers in a book titled "The Wisdom of Psychopaths" and considering my ambitions it was a logical step on my path.

The greatest book I've ever read was the 48 Laws of Power. It made me hunger for influence and control.

I was only 18 years old when I got rammed by that truck.

My goal was to secure enough funds to enter the wealthy circles of society and work my way into the political sphere inspired by figures such as Henry Kissinger and Niccolo Machiavelli.

I knew my career wouldn't go far as my background was lacking but I could at least start my dynasty legacy going.

Now I would never have that opportunity but since I was now someone with one of the greatest backgrounds being the son of a former billionaire family and founder of the superhero league Union.

I had my chance to rule the world.

Why would anyone want to do that one may wonder?

Well for me at least it just gave me great pleasure to manipulate people I can still recall one of the highlights of childhood.

(Flashback)

"Hey Jeff are you sure about this"

A 12-year-old boy asked him nervously

"Ted if you back out now do you think I will let you go" I replied darkly

He was shell shocked

"Wha but you said.. aren't we best friends"

"Of course we're best friends" I lied

"But you can't just leave as your best friend I don't want you to miss out on this opportunity but if you want to we can stop"

"No no your right geez man had me worried there your so edgy sometimes"

"Haha you probably just watch too many movies"

Too easy I thought

Working on his insecurity of being abandoned. I was able to overcome his moral boundaries with the tried and true stick and carrot method.

As Sun Tzu would say "Build a golden bridge for your enemy to retreat across."

Ted went in first the room was too dark to see anything till I turned on the flashlight and we saw a decaying corpse of an old white man laying on the ground.

"Search him, Ted"

"O-oh okay"

He rummaged through the body and was able to procure a wallet and a letter that had a skull and bone emblem on the corner.

"So what now?" Ted asked

"We have to get out of here quickly take the cash and leave the rest of the wallet"

He turned to do what he was told not thinking much of it.

"But give me the letter" I added

"Alright" he replied

He got up and handed it to me then went back to what he was doing.

I grabbed the letter with the corner of my shirt careful not to place any fingerprints and wrapped it in tissues that were in my pocket.

Finishing sorting through the wallet Ted said dumbfounded.

"This guy had 1200 dollars casually sitting in his wallet isn't he afraid of getting robbed?

"Well when your that rich it is a paltry sum and he is in his property, I'm sure he wasn't expecting people to take it."

Suddenly embarrassed Ted said.

"I knew that"

"Uh yeah let's just get out of here"

Resisting the urge to roll my eyes.

Several days later Ted was found dead and I got away scot-free.

I wasn't an orphan but my parents weren't often home so it gave me all the space needed to roam and learn the ways of the street of New York City.

Ted was an orphan that I met by chance and developed a convenient relationship with

I decided he was expendable because he wasn't all that bright and thought he could get away with petty slights like skimming small amounts of cash from the loot on our heists as though I would forgive him.

Well anyway I didn't read the letter as one might expect instead I placed it in Teds jacket

I wasn't so ignorant as to not know where the letter might have come from.

The secret society of Yale University where various elites could be found to be members such as George Bush and Bill Clinton.

Once I realized the guy we looted was possibly associated with that elite occult group I decided to cut my ties with Ted.

The guy didn't even know my real name or where I lived so I'm sure if allowed to he would be begging and snitching.

The money was placed in one of our secret safe houses or I should say my secret safe house now.

If only Ted knew to bring gloves to this operation or like me use a henchman.

~Law 26 of The 48 Laws of Power "Keep your hands clean."~

(Flashback ends)

Focusing back on the present situation I realized I still didn't have my powers yet. In this world, your powers would be mostly dormant during childhood and it was only during the pre-teen years did they start to become more easily stimulated it worked kind of like mutants from marvel where you have to be under certain stresses for your abilities to manifest but the difference here was that as long as you age your powers would slowly unlock themselves as you mature.

My sister was temperamental so she manifested them quite early after being scolded by our father for wanting to play while he was lecturing about the code.

Looking through my new memories our lives were pretty much spent preparing us to be superhero's which was pretty sad the few time we got to play was kind of an obligatory way of showing that they were good parents. Our mother was laxer and less anal about the code but she was almost as into duty and doing good as he was.

But I was thankful for it as it allowed me to prepare for the various possible threats to my plans.

Ironically my greatest strength in my old world of being calm with little emotion is hindering me.

The old Brandon idolized the Utopian as a way to gain approval but it was never quite enough. I remember from the series that Brandon could be stronger than the Utopian when he got mad. So I theorized that Brandon never manifested his powers early because he was too busy trying to please his dad.

Sheldon Sampson, my biological father had decided it would be better for me to get my powers when I was older because as a kid I would be more impulsive which was sound logic if I didn't already have an adult mentality.

In the series, his daughter turned out a druggy slut that looked like a dyke. But for now, she was still pure and beautiful. It would be a shame for her to degenerate like that after all she would be mine. It is not like I was her actual sibling so it didn't bother my loose moral standards. She would be a useful tool to keep around and that's all that mattered.

I was taught the basics about how to subdue villains and rescue people as safely and effectively as possible.

Which wasn't all that useful but the key point that the old Brandon didn't realize or care to is that the history lesson behind it is that most villains here didn't have strong powers or any at all and relied on advanced technology of alien or human origins and in some cases, their powers depended on it.

If I could find the sources of all these anomalies and monopolize the technology for myself wouldn't that mean the end of villainy?

Yeah expecting the utopian to come to a rational logical conclusion to his problems was unlikely. Which reminded me of my uncle he would probably be the greatest threat to me at the moment and into the future. If my mind was read and molded I could kiss my sweet dreams goodbye.

After zoning out for a bit I saw that Mom and Chloe were done talking and hugging it out so I decided it would be a good time to interject.

"Chloe are you alright, I know you didn't mean to hurt me we were just playing"

She had accidentally triggered her powers and screamed in my direction as I was running away after telling her she's the villain for the third time in a row.

"Yeah I'm fine now but are you ok brothda" my sister turned to me blue eyes going wide realizing I still had dried blood on my ears.

"Haha nothing you do could ever hurt your big brother" I struck a typical utopian pose with arms on my hips and head faced indignantly to the imaginary sky.

"Hehe Brandon looks like daddy" my sister giggled.

Our mom smiled at our exchange and reached for the first aid kit she had already prepared and started tending to my injury.

Looking at the 2 people who are supposed to be the closest ones in my life I kept a mask over my expressions as I gave them a bright smile musing to myself. Why not have them both?

I internally salivated at the prospect.

But now wasn't the time for that I had to prepare for next year where I would be going to the newly founded Union Academy as a 10-year-old boy with no powers.

That means it's time to train.
