1 Julia Lex William

Since birth I have been engaged to Prince Noah. The Prince gets told who to marry from something everyone calls an Oracle. When ever people talk about it the don't say "The Oracle" they call it by different name they refer to it as if it were human. The name for the Oracle is Fatum. So Fatum told the Prince who to marry. The partner chosen for the Prince is supposed to be someone they are compatible with, someone who the Prince can rely on, and someone who can help him. When the person for the Prince is chosen they make them take lessons since birth to be a great queen. I, Julia Lex William, was chosen as the Prince's fiancé by the Oracle. I met the Prince for the first time when I was three.

Duke William: Julia, this is your fiancé Prince Noah.

As soon as I looked at him all I saw in his eyes was hatred.

I bowed.

Julia: Hello Prince Noah.

Noah: Hello Julia.

Duke William: Bye Julia I have to go to the meeting.

Julia: Bye Father.

Noah: Well I will be going. Maids, bring her a sweet tea and some cookies.

Maids: Yes Your Royal Highness.

They all left leaving me alone in the room. Even if I can't show emotions tears can still appear. So tears come out my eyes even though I have no expressions.

No one born in the William family can show expressions. It is a curse. My family got cursed many years ago. They got cursed since someone framed us. The curse can only be lifted if you are beheaded. You can't be beheaded because you want to though. We tried that in the past. It has to be against your will is what we all think. Curses or magic don't exist anymore. It went extinct as soon as the last spirit died.

One time when I was seven I went to the King's castle with my father. He had a meeting that day. I decided to explore the castle. As I was exploring I came across a garden with a tree in the center next to the tree was a table with two chairs across each other. The Prince and his personal servant were there. The Prince had a natural look on his face not a serious or full of hatred one. His expression was a relaxed. As he wrote on a piece of paper. After writing for a bit he smiled. His smile was really gentle. As I saw him I found myself loving him.

Duke William: Julia we are leaving.

Julia: Coming, Father.

Duke William: Why do you look surprised?

Even though we can't show expressions we can read each other. So to each other we are an open book.

Julia: I saw the Prince smiling really gently.

Duke William: Really? Well then good for you.

Are eyes can reflect are emotion if you look at them long enough you can probably tell which emotion we are feeling.

I gradually fell in love with the Prince over a year after that day. Though when ever he saw me his eyes were full of hatred. I didn't notice the cold look though.

When I was fourteen a browned hair girl with gentle blue eyes appeared in the fountain of the Kings castle. The Oracle sent a message after fourteen years. The Oracle said that this girl was the Prince's real partner. When I heard the news I felt empty, as if air can easily pass by through me. I was told even though that girl was going to be the Royal Queen I was going to be the Queen and help her with the work. They meant I would do all the work. The Royal King, Royal queen, and me, the Queen. She looked scared. I mean why wouldn't she? She appears out of nowhere and they tell her she is going to marry a Prince.

After two years the too of them married. As they came out the church he had the biggest gentlest smile ever and so did she. I felt like I was breaking but before I finished breaking a spirit magically appeared in front of me.

I thought,"Wait! Weren't spirits extinct?!". The spirit must have read my mind since he answered.

Spirit: Spirits are extinct. I'm the first born after a long time. I'm Justin.

Julia(thinking): Oh.

I looked around I was the only who can see him, the spirit.

Spirit: You seem to have a curse.

Julia(thinking): Everyone in my family does.

Spirit: May I ask why?

Julia(thinking): We were falsely framed many years ago then they put a curse on us. Which can only be taken off by being beheaded against your will.

Spirit: I can take it off.

Julia(thinking): You can get rid of the curse? Everyone in my family not just me. Either way it is only me and my father.

Spirit: Yes here I'll take it off now.

Julia: No! Not here.

I realized I said that out loud since everyone look at me. I ran away so the he can take it off in a more private place. As soon as he took it off a wave of emotions went off. A mixture of gratitude, sadness, and happiness all of those in the forms off tears. After a few minutes I stopped.

Julia: Thank you, Justin.

Justin: No problems.

Julia: I'm curious though why did you appear?

Justin: You have really strong magic and your feeling at that time were really strong. I'm the strongest off all spirits.

I smiled.

Julia: Really?

Justin: Julia I have something I want to ask you for.

Julia: What is it?

Justin: Can you make me so that people can see me?

Julia: How?

Justin: Just think of it. You don't need an incantation since your magic is strong.

I thought of him being see able to people. I'm not sure if it worked though.

Julia: Did it work?

Justin: I'm not sure.

Julia: lets go back to the church to see.

When we got back to the church. Everyone was still paying attention to the new Royal King and Queen. I looked at my father he had a kind of sad but happy expression. I went up to him. I hugged him. He smiled.

Julia(whispers): Father you have a huge smile on your face.

I smiled. He looked surprised.

Duke William: Julia the curse?

Julia: It is gone.

He smiled and tears formed at his eyes.

Julia: No one can say we are heartless or other things now.

No one ever noticed us they only payed attention to the new Royal King and Queen. The only one that notice was Noah's father.

Noah's father(King Albert): Duke William?!

Father started acting proper after that.

Duke William: Yes, King Albert?

King Albert: Were you just smiling?

People gasped after that.

Father was contemplating what say. He looked at me I nodded. He breathed in and then breathed out.

Duke William: ...Yes...

Everyone gasped again.

King Albert: That is wonderful!

Father smiled.

Father: It is all thanks to-

Julia: Greetings King Albert.

King Albert: Hello Julia.

Julia: You left the throne to early don't you think? I mean you are barely in your early forties.

King Albert: I'll be helping Noah.

Julia: Should I refer to him as King Noah now or His majesty?

King Albert: Either one is fine.

Duke William: Julia who is this?I

Julia: That is Justin.

Justin: Hello Duke William.

Julia: Not to be rude your Royal Majesty but is it alright if I don't get Married to King Noah?

He glares down at me.

King Albert: I'm sorry but you have to marry him since you will be helping the new Royal Queen, Queen Valery.

Julia: I can still help her. No offense your Majesty.

King Albert: I'm sorry Julia but that is not acceptable the information is classified and we can't trust you with it unless your are married to Noah.

Julia: Alright your Royal Majesty. I understand.

I left them at that point. Once I was far from them I sighed.

Julia: Well people can see you.

Justin: Julia? Why did they choose you of all the other nobles there is to help the new Queen?

Julia: Before she came along I was chosen. Since birth I was taught to be a great Queen.

Justin: Why did that change?

Julia: The Oracle. The Oracle chose her when she appeared here.

Justin: The Oracle?

Julia: Yes the Oracle also known as Fatum. It tells the Prince who to marry.

Justin: Where is the Oracle?

Julia: Under the church there is a room it is right there.

Justin: Alright then let's give it a visit.

Julia: Why?

Justin: Well maybe you can talk to it.

He smiled.

Julia: Alright. Oh can I teleport?

Justin: Yes.

Julia: No one has figured out yet that magic and curses are possible. I wonder what will happen if they do.

I smile.

I teleported us in front of the door of where the Oracle was. I opened the door and it looked like an empty room except it had a machine with paper coming out of it. I stepped in and I wasn't in that room I had seen. I'm in a place with out walls. Everything around is all dark. I heard a voice saying my name. "Julia," it said.

Julia: Who are you?

Voice: I'm Fatum.

Julia: Fatum? You are the Oracle?

Fatum: Yes.

Julia: Why am I here? Where is Justin?

Fatum: I was hoping you would visit here. Your little friend is still in the room. I want to apologize.

Julia: For?

Fatum: Valery was supposed to be born here. A careless mistake made her end up in a different world. I needed a replacement for her and your compatibility to the Prince was second best. Once I found her I brought her here.

I smiled.

Julia: You're right. It is all your fault. I wouldn't have to go through the training if it wasn't for you and I wouldn't have fallen for the Prince if it weren't for you. Your apology is unacceptable.

After saying that some cracks appeared in this dark place. Light came out from the cracks.

Fatum: You puny human.

Julia: Why are you mad I only declined YOUR apology.

Fatum(mutters): It is a good thing spirits are extinct.

Julia: I heard you. Why is it a good thing.

Fatum: If they weren't they could make me die off.

I covered my smile with my hand.

Julia: Which reminds me. Did you hear about the curse on the William's family?

Fatum: Yes. William's family can't show expressions. The only way for the curse to break is being beheaded against your will.

Julia: Does that mean we can show expressions in here.

Fatum: ...No. Where are you going with this?

Julia: Oh my I guess you never noticed my smile.

I smiled again.

I felt the place shake.

Fatum: So that means one of your family members got beheaded.

Julia: It has only been me and my father since my mother gave birth to me. Both of us are still alive as well. Is there any other way to get rid of curses.

The place shook again. I lost my balance and fell on my ass.

Fatum: A spirit.

Suddenly the place disappeared and I was sitting on the ground of the room.

Justin: Where were you?

Julia: Talking with Fatum.

Justin: The Oracle?

I nod my head. I heard a 'ding' sound and saw papers were coming out of the Oracle. One of the papers was filled with the word anger, another paper was filled with the word danger, the last one said "Kill Julia Lex William!". I heard steps of someone coming. I put the paper down.

Justin: What does it say?

Julia: It says, Kill Julia Lex William.

He looked shocked.

Justin: We should get out of here then.

Julia: No wait for the priest to get here.

After a minute the priest entered.

Priest: What are you doing here, Julia?

Julia: Nothing.

I headed to the door to leave and pat his shoulder on the way out. He then walked over to the Oracle. After a while he came running with the papers. As soon as he got near me, I teleported Justin and Myself out. I teleported us to my house. We searched the house to see if my father was there. He wasn't. I remembered that today was the wedding. So we teleported to the castle. When I found my father I went up to him. I put my hands on his shoulders as I gasped for air.

Duke William: Why are you in a hurry, Julia?

Julia: Bye father. I'll be back for you. Just stay alive.

The priest arrived. He searched for the King Albert.

Duke William: What are you talking about?

Julia: Bye get ready for when I come for you.

Duke William: Wait won't you stay a bit?

The priest found King Albert.

Julia: Okay only a bit. Also this isn't the last time we will see each other I promise.

Duke William: Okay?

He smiled.

King Albert walked to the guards. The guards closed the doors. He then looked around.

Duke William: I'll go ask the king what is going on.

I hugged him from behind before he could take a step.

Julia: Bye father.

Tears came out my eyes.

Julia: You can go now.

When he reached King Albert, The King yelled for the guards. The knocked him to the ground and tied his hands. Everyone quieted down and looked over where my father was.

King Albert: Where is your daughter?

Duke William: Why?

King Albert: Fatum said she is dangerous and we should kill her.

Duke William: That is unreasonable!

King Albert: Where is she?

Duke William: I won't say.

King Albert: Tell us where she is or we will kill you!

Duke William: No.
