-Story Start-

-Third Person POV-

In the quiet expanse of a meeting room, leaders from Konoha's major clans gathered. The air held a weight of contemplation, thickening as the Hokage and Nara Shikaku revealed a significant revelation to conclude their meeting.

Despite the gravity of the disclosure, the Clan Heads displayed no overt surprise. Even those without children in Akira's Classroom, the wielder of the newfound Kekkei Genkai, maintained a composed demeanor.

Breaking the contemplative silence with a stoic nod, Hyuga Hiashi acknowledged the official announcement, "I had heard that much from my daughter."

Various nods echoed in agreement, the majority directing their curious gazes at Shikaku, who stood alongside the Hokage.

Interrupting the silent exchange, Hiruzen cleared his throat and drew attention back to himself, "If you have any questions regarding the "Eight Shadows", feel free to address them privately with Shikaku. This has been a formality, and let me make this abundantly clear..." His expression turned resolute, "After the Nine-Tails Attack, we were at a record low as a whole, only to be further diminished by the massacre of one of our most powerful and noble clans."

Surveying each Clan Head seated around the table, Hiruzen released his chakra, emphasizing his authority. "I implore you to set aside your grievances regarding the rise of the Nara clan. Consider the new Kekkei Genkai as a blessing for the village in these challenging times, and consequently, a blessing for yourselves. We must be strong and united. Remember why we stand united. Remember the Will Of Fire." Hiruzen's tone softened toward the end, accompanied by a glance toward a smiling Shikaku, who nodded appreciatively.

A collective, "Yes, Lord Hokage!" filled the room, even from the tardy Hatake Clan Head, who was inconsiderately reading a questionable book in the middle of the meeting.

Acknowledgment for the Village Leader, acknowledgment of their unity as members of the Leaf, and confirmation that the Will Of Fire was still burning brightly among the Clan Leaders brought a smile to Hirzuen's face.

A small proud thought echoed in his mind, 'And Danzo says I've gone soft.'

Following the display of unity and loyalty, Hiashi, with a neutral expression, stated his observations, reassuring those who felt uneasy about the Nara's increasing power, "Regardless of the Kekkei Genkai, the position of mightiest Clan in the Leaf won't be taken from the Hyuga."

An amused snort escaped Choza, earning a rightful glare from Hiashi, "Did I mention anything amusing, Akimichi?"

"Have you gone deaf, Hyuga? Of course, you did! What? Have you over-relied on your eyes so much that you cannot hear properly? HAHAHAHAHA!" Inoichi responded in Choza's name as he burst into laughter.

A sigh escaped Hiruzen as he mumbled with a shake of his head, "Like bickering children... Every time."

As the warm atmosphere settled and the formality concluded, as opportunistic as ever, the Hatake Clan Head swiftly rose to make his exit.

Getting up and pushing the chair aside, he walked towards the door with an air of nonchalance.

Only to be noticed by the irritated Hiruzen, "Leaving so soon, Kakashi? After making us all wait for so long?"

Without losing pace, Kakashi responded, "Mah, I have to go feed Pakkun and the others, there's also a lady waiting to cross the road somewhere, so I have to be punctual and help her."

Without pause or awaiting a response, he proceeded to open the door, close it, and disappear into the night.

Classic Kakashi.

However, amidst the warm atmosphere, one individual remained unconvinced and unaffected by Hiruzen's warning.

With a gruff and determined expression, Inuzuka Tsume called out to Hiruzen, "Lord Hokage, I have my concerns regarding the wielder of the "Eight Shadows" Kekkei Genkai."

Upon her addressing Hiruzen, the warm atmosphere shifted to curiosity, and the Clan Heads' attention focused on Tsume.

Hiruzen inhaled out of his pipe, gesturing for her to elaborate, his eyes narrowing.

With a nod, she said, a hint of concern in her tone, "Kiba told me what happened yesterday in practice. Akira challenged his Sensei, Chunin Academy Instructor Mizuki, and beat him badly... The expression on Akira's face, as Kiba put it, was nothing short of sadistic... Given his prodigious talents and coming rise to power, Lord Hokage, I fear that he wou..."

Hiruzen cut her off bluntly, exhaling smoke, "Become like Itachi?"

The name, considered taboo, made the Clan Heads tense up.

So potent was the influence and lasting effect Itachi had on both the Village and the Clan Heads that changes to the system and new laws were put in place.

Most notably, to cut off the problem at its head—the ability to graduate from the Academy early and be introduced to the struggles of Shinobi Life at an extremely young and tender age was no longer possible.

The Clan Heads, curious and wary of the bold accusation, awaited Hiruzen's response, while Choza and Inoichi glared at Tsume, but they kept silent for now.

Neutrally, Hiruzen dissected the incident, "I have investigated the issue, as it concerned me as well. The conclusions are obvious, and some of you have already heard them, so don't let the name of Itachi and the risk that a potential successor of his would appear to stand in the face of actual facts."

With a sigh, Hiruzen presented them, "Mizuki revealed Akira's Kekkei Genkai, that is, at that point an undisclosed and private aspect of Akira to his classmates without warning or permission. Clearly stated that he kept it to himself until the official registration of the Kekkei Genkai. Akira's fury has some grounds to stand on, and Mizuki was also suspended from instructing for a month and relegated to D-Ranks for his acts. As for Akira's questionable decision to spar with Mizuki, I see no issue with it, except the boy's talent and a fine showcase for his Kekkei Genkai."

Sending a glance towards Inoichi, Hiruzen added, "Furthermore, isn't sadism, of the mildest of its forms, like the one Akira expressed with Mizuki, a common trait in the majority of Shinobi?"

Inoichi nodded, the statistics in his head, "Around 70% confirm to be Sadistic, whether mildly or not."

With another puff of smoke, Hiruzen gained a determined look, "There you have it. Do not worry, I will personally be keeping an eye on Akira."

At that, most of the curious Clan Heads gained a semblance of calm—though some kept their skepticism.

Itachi still ended up doing what he did despite Hiruzen's close eye.

Expression only barely convinced, Tsume relented and sighed, halfheartedly stating, "That's all I had to hear, Lord Hokage."

Choza, with a saddened expression, added, "Tsume-san, do you not trust in Shikaku? Akira is his son, after all."

The question then arose in Tsume's head, as well as some of the other Clan Heads who were analyzing the risk of Akira himself and not the Kekkei Genkai - Odd as it was.

When comparing Itachi and Akira, from the limited information they hold.

What is the main difference?

Parentage.

Trustworthy, loyal, and impressive as Uchiha Fugaku was, the power lust and old-fashioned attitude he held could have influenced Itachi to become what he is.

The Uchiha were... A complicated Clan.

On the other hand, though, there is Nara Shikaku and the Nara Clan as a whole.

Disregarding the few ambitious Elders, Shikaku and the Nara Clan were as harmless as a butterfly to the Leaf.

But, Shikaku's loyalty and intelligence were what convinced most of them that Akira was in good hands.

"Would Shikaku let Akira become the second coming of Itachi or even Orochimaru?"

The answer would be, "No".

"If something like that were brewing on the horizon, would Shikaku notice?"

The answer would be, "Yes".

That at least, was what Tsume came up with as she finally regained a semblance of calm when taking a glance at Shikaku's pacifying and silent expression.

Turning to Choza she answers with a snort, "I guess I trust him."

Aburame Shibi chimed in with a stoic and apathetic tone, "I believe it is fine. Why? Because the Leaf was built on the shoulders of Prodigies and Geniuses, like Lord Fourth. We should not act towards them with prejudice due to a minority of bad examples. Instead, nurture them properly. I believe Shikaku is capable of that."

At that, he earned a grateful smile and nod from Shikaku.

Along with a dismissive snort Tsume, "You would compare Minato with Shikaku's pup?"

On that note, the meeting had concluded.

The official announcement marked the revelation of the first wielder of the "Eight Shadows" Kekkei Genkai.

Nara Akira.

A name soon to be in casual conversations around the Village.

Or perhaps beyond?

-Time Skip-

-2 Years Later-

A Familiar and Spacious underground area, filled with Training dummies, tables with Chakra Papers, and most notably as of late.

Large gaping holes in the interior walls of the manmade cavern.

Noticeable burnt and charred walls and rocks.

A normally silent and peaceful place, that was only disturbed by the sounds of something heavy hitting the stony floor.

There, stood a 12-year-old boy. 5'1 In height, Spiky brown almost black hair, eyes a dazzling dark green, and clothes as dark as the night.

His expression radiated pure boredom, as he was currently...

Taking out bricks from the Shadows?

Dropping them on the ground, nonchalantly.

Who may this boy be?

Well, none other than our dearest protagonist!

-Akira POV-

Truth be told, this much is really necessary.

I have to be at my best.

I can't be holding back against that Ox.

That's right, I'm fighting Piercing Ox.

Though not to tame him, hopefully.

Not yet at least - I'll get to that soon.

Piercing Ox has proved to be the easiest of all Shikigami I've faced thus far.

Though, paradoxically, he's also the most dangerous.

According to Makoto and Eiichi, his strength would make most Jonin sweat.

Speed is also nothing to scoff at, really.

I barely am able to dive into the shadows at the first charge.

And that speed and strength increase the longer he charges.

To translate the actual scale of his power though.

If current me gets hit by him even a second into his charge.

I'm crippled for the remainder of my life.

More than a second?

I explode in a gory mess as he charges straight through.

...Not planning on testing out any of those outcomes

Anyway!

Why is he the easiest when he's that dangerous?

Well, it's because he can really only charge in a Single Line.

Once I dodge his initial charge at me and then move aside from his Charge Line as I term it.

He's literally helpless. He can't do anything.

Dodging his initial charge is also relatively easy.

The options are endless.

Dive into the Shadows.

Substitution Jutsu.

And if I was faster, Genjutsu even.

Now, because he was so simple to deal with, I have decided to delegate the Poor Ox to the prestigious position of... Ten Shadows Exorcism Ritual Experimentation Shikigami! Name Change Pending.

All these tests are for the sake of increasing my chances of not being run over by Mahoraga when I decide to tame him.

Which isn't looking to be any time soon.

But...

Baby steps!

By the by, the holes in the walls are the results of a couple of test runs with Piercing Ox.

Testing Shadow Binding - It works, but he broke out of it quite easily. Chakra Capacity and or Physical strength being the deciding factor is still unconfirmed.

Testing Coating my arm in poison and killing him with it - Good news, it didn't work. Bad news, it didn't work and the time until the antidote worked on me was agonizing. To put it mildly.

Also shoving my arm covered in poison in a charging Ox's mouth wasn't one of my brightest ideas - Broke my arm as well.

Testing Blowing him up with hand-drawn explosive tags - Even if I was the one to draw the seal myself, it seems it still didn't validate the ritual.

What these have confirmed, once again, is that... The Exorcism Rituals are extremely rigid.

The last piece of information I had managed to gauge in regards to the Exorcism Rituals, is how it selects the participants.

The range seems to be around 100 Feet from where the Shikigami initially forms, at least, in Piercing Ox's case.

This range may be different, but it's a good baseline nonetheless.

Secondly, through the usage of Clones, Eiichi helped me test what happens when a clone, instead of the Original is also participating in the ritual.

The answer is quite interesting - Once the clone disappears/is destroyed, Piercing Ox locks onto the Original.

The conclusion?

Not concrete, but our running theory is that the Exorcism Ritual Shikigami registers the participant's Unique Chakra Source signature, concentrated in the heart, and does not stop in its attack until that Chakra Source is extinguished.

Or in simple terms, when the person is dead.

Since here, when you run out of Chakra, you're basically dead.

But that theory had a hole in it.

A glaring one at that.

When I dive into the Shadows, my Chakra Signature disappears completely.

And yet the Rituals never come to an abrupt end, now do they?

There are two theories on the matter.

The first one is that there exists an intelligence factor from the side of the Shikigami.

Just because my Chakra disappeared, does not mean I have died in the Shikigami's mind, thus the ritual carries on.

The problem with this is assuming the decision and power over deciding when the Ritual is over is in the hands of the Shikigami themselves.

This doesn't really make sense - Since the Ritual seems to be structured in a manner in which both I and the Shikigami are in an equal position.

And I definitely lack the desired ability to end a ritual whenever I feel like it.

Thus, it's a theory that I am less inclined to believe in.

Then there's the 2nd theory.

The more logical yet unbelievable one, but I'm lacking in more data to form anything else.

The Exorcism Ritual itself is intelligent and may judge who or what has perished, perhaps an invisible link that I cannot detect forms between me and the Shikigami, ending the ritual upon one of our confirmed demises.

A link not created out of Chakra, or is created out of it but has managed to elude the absolute detection Noc and Mir allegedly have.

Or... There is an Outside Force that judges a ritual and decides its outcome according to a rigid system it depends on.

A minute of monotonous taking out bricks from my Shadow Storage and monologing passed as I managed to isolate the sounds of footsteps, indicating the late arrival of my desired guest.

"Does Eiichi even clean this place up? Look at the mess you've made." A grumbling and exhausted feminine tone of voice is heard as I turn to greet Yukiko.

Usual spiky black hair iconic in the Nara, with a surprisingly unnoticeable amount of wrinkles, and brown eyes with eyebags the size of a walnut.

A modest figure covered by a lab coat and deep pockets.

A woman in her late 40s who has the looks of a 30-year-old woman.

This woman who has been placing great effort in her looks but not her sleep schedule is none other than the youngest of the Clan Elders.

Nara Yukiko - The Chief Of Medicine and Research in our clan.

A prodigy and genius in her field and a great contributor to Medicine second only to Senju Tsunade in her field.

Also, the most beloved amongst our allied Clans - Especially the Akimichi.

Eiichi is not included - As he is only beloved by old bats like him.

Anywho.

I shot her a look. "You just got here, late, may I add, and you're already complaining?" I shook my head. "Just hand over the goods so I can start." I gestured with a grabbing motion towards her.

She hummed as she approached, presenting me with a colorful pill she took out of her pocket.

Noticing the nonstandard color, I had to ask for my own safety, "This is the Chakra Enhancement Pill, right? You're not planning on poisoning me or something?"

She snorted. "As if. I have better things to do than to poison our upstart. This is a pill that increases the strength of Jutsu by roughly 15%. It has been thoroughly tested and not yet placed in the Shinobi market—a significant leap from our 5% Pill."

Whoa, that is a substantial improvement.

That'll bring in a lot of Ryo for the Nara.

...I won't delve into the production value, I don't care that much.

But!

Good work, Yukiko! As the Future Clan Head's cousin, I am proud of you!

Of course, I didn't say that.

What truly concerns me is...

"And what about the side effects?" I inquired with an even tone.

She nodded, elaborating, "The side effects are, instead of a minor headache, you may be induced into a relatively painful migraine after the pill's 3-hour effect has subsided."

I nodded, my expression stoic. "Hmm, I see."

Relatively painful, my ass!

Nevermind, I take back my unspoken words of praise!

She's as sadistic as her fellow Elders!

Only she takes a more roundabout and less honest route in satisfying her pleasures!

...Ahem.

With a casual shrug, I said, "Bottoms up," before swallowing the pill.

She calmly informed me as she stepped back, "It'll take a minute for the effects to kick in."

Concerned for Yukiko's safety, I advised, "Make sure you move away from the line the Ox will form, just in case."

While she probably didn't need the reminder being a Tokubetsu Jonin, politeness never hurt.

"Don't worry. As long as I don't fall asleep, I'll be fine," she reassured me from a safe distance.

"That doesn't reassure me?!" I yelled back, slightly bewildered by her standard yet paradoxically nonstandard response.

Ah, Yukiko.

For better or worse, the only "True" Nara among the three Elders.

Unlike her notably zealous male colleagues.

Shaking my head, I focused on the task at hand.

As always, I needed to execute this part correctly, and then I'd be good.

Forming the Shadowgraphic hand sign of an Ox head, I announced, "Piercing Ox."

In front of me, the shadows quickly shaped into a robust ox with short curved horns, white fur around its mouth, and a long thin tail - Piercing Ox.

Swiftly diving into the shadows as the ox completed its formation, Piercing Ox charged at me with terrifying speed.

Each step quaked the ground and cracked the floor.

However, I had already dove into the shadows.

Emerging from the shadows behind a table outside of Piercing Ox's limited single-line range, a loud explosion followed as the Ox crashed into a wall once again.

My heart raced at the short burst of adrenaline, a familiar reaction to facing this insanely powerful yet limited Ox.

"Now, before he causes any more property damage," I mumbled, staring at Piercing Ox as I weaved hand signs in a quick motion, the Ox had turned around a clean 180 degrees to charge in the opposite direction.

"Snake" I weaved the hand sign.

Yes, he can turn around - Only for the sake of charging in a straight line in the opposite direction of his intended range.

Odd, but whatever.

Also an important note - I can change his trajectory if I knock him off his intended straight-line route.

Which isn't a good idea.

"Dragon" I weaved another.

Thus, the plan is to end him with a single calculated move that doesn't change his trajectory and keeps me at a safe angle from him.

The safest and most surefire method I've come up with is using the Dragon Fire Jutsu and channeling it at the Ox and cooking him alive.

Cruel, I know.

Unfortunately, though, the Ox is tough.

Really tough.

My Kunai snapped.

I am not joking.

Granted, I am still not really good at channeling Chakra into external tools so that's that.

Shatter Fist may work, but it'll take a lot of hits and even then, it'll require me to get close to Piercing Ox and also risk staggering him and changing his trajectory.

Not a good idea.

"Rabbit" I weave the second to last handsign.

"Dragon" I weave the last handsign

Throwing my Shikigami at it would result in the majority of them being run over except maybe Dumbo who could tank a few and then get run over.

Yes, even the Leveled Up Shikigami wouldn't last long with Ox.

He's that strong.

And I sure as hell ain't risking a pointless death from my Shikigami.

...Jeff would stand in Ox's way that dumb toad.

Though I have tried to use Nue, and it takes too long, even when she's Level 2.

"Fire Style - Dragon Fire Jutsu!" I yell as I spit a line of concentrated flames at the Ox, charging in a straight line at... Nothing.

Thus, Fire is the simplest, risk-free, and efficient solution - Piercing Ox lacks any thermal resistance.

The other non-Ten Shadows solution was to use a Water Jutsu, something I'm naturally better at, but I'll then have to deal with cleaning this place up.

And Eiichi strictly requested I don't use any.

This training ground has air ventilation, but nothing to take care of possible flooding.

Also, the reason Dumbo's Water Pressure Cannon was not put to work.

...Still need to figure out a more practical method of dealing with heavily armored or tough opponents.

They are definitely rare, but defense piercing is something I sorely lack thus far.

Outside of my Shikigami, that is.

Dumbo covers that for me, and eventually - This Ox will also cover that weakness.

But over-relying on them is also a problem - The best solution is to choose one out of a myriad of options.

Options I lack.

I kept at it, channeling Chakra into the jutsu and breathing flames at Piercing Ox, who continued to charge vigorously as his whole body was being roasted.

Hell, his strength and speed were only growing the longer he charged.

Aiming the flames wasn't difficult, I merely adjusted my aim at his predictable movement.

The only slight difficulty was adjusting the aim to his ever-increasing speed.

Another explosion rang out, and Piercing Ox crashed into another wall, creating a hole nearly twice as large as the first.

The smell of burnt flesh and bone as well as smoke has managed to permeate the entire underground structure and yet the Ox was still alive and thoroughly kicking.

...Ridiculous I tell you

From the corner of my eye, I could even see Yukiko's surprised expression at the tenacity of the Ox.

Gradually, as my Chakra dwindled by a mere 9 percent, and the searing heat enveloped me, the Ox yielded to the flames. Its bones began liquefying and crumbling, succumbing mid-charge. It dissolved into a fusion of flames and shadows, meeting its demise in the fiery aftermath.

That Ox is one hardcore fucker.

"Hmm?" I hummed as I felt Piercing Ox's shadows move towards me.

I have tamed Piercing Ox.

Ah...

Okay, conclusions - Internal Buffs are valid in Exorcism Rituals.

Good to know, good to know.

Unfortunately, I have now lost my prime Ten Shadows Lab Rat.

Well, not unexpected, this would have eventually happened in one experiment or another, but I guess this is perfect timing by now.

"So? What's the result?" Yukiko's voice broke me out of my thoughts as she approached.

I responded neutrally, "I tamed him. It seems pills and any other boosts to myself are valid in a ritual."

"Fascinating, that leaves only 1 Shadow Creature left, correct?" She asked with a mix of curiosity and exhaustion.

...She looks like she'll fall any second now.

"Yes. The Tiger, I have no idea how powerful that one is, but I assume it's the strongest." I lie with the skills ingrained into me throughout my years of education and experience.

She nodded silently, her expression unreadable as perhaps she contemplated the implications of something stronger than Piercing Ox.

...Little did she know.

Changing the topic and finally expressing the respectable tone of an adult, "So, Akira. Excited about officially becoming a Genin tomorrow?"

With a neutral hum, I respond, "I guess I am. I can finally take part in missions and get a Jonin sensei." I then added, "Though, not to change the topic or anything, was watching this really all you came here for? I know how busy you are, you could've had someone report back to you the results of this."

She nodded her head with a smile, "I can't be the only Elder of the Nara to have not seen the fabled "Exorcism Rituals", now can I? This was an opportune moment to see it in action, you going out so far just to ask a rare favor out of me."

Yeah, I had to find her up in the mountains of Konoha, in our "Clan Secret Research Facility".

Yes, we have a few mountains in Konoha - At least the outer border of it, more aptly called "Outside The Walls" for dummies.

it was a nice little detour, all things considered.

My unique position in the clan allows me leverage over a large majority of our little secrets.

I gave her a look, "Oddly competitive and extremely petty for the Clan Standard Nara that you are."

She gestured for me to follow her, "Hmph, you know how hard I had to work to get to the position I am in today? Also, let's get out of here, the smell is getting on my nerves."

"No, I have to clean this place up. Since graduations coming up, Eiichi asked to return this place to pitch perfect condition."

With a shrug of her shoulders, she waved me goodbye as she walked away, "Suit yourself, thanks for the show, Akira."

"Thanks for the pill, Yukiko!" I yelled out to her distancing figure.

With her having left, I am left to clean up this mess that has managed to build up through hundreds of various exercises, training sessions, and experiments.

A sense of dread covers my entire body inch by inch as I scan the picture-perfect warzone of a training ground.

"Thank goodness I have an army of goons," I mutter.

I formed the shadowgraphic hand sign of a rabbit as I said, "Rabbit Escape"

Level 2...

It was around 3 hours later, on the way home that I collapsed from a severe migraine, cursing Yukiko's name and legacy.

"D-Damned useless Pill Wench!"

Leaving poor Haruki, my pocket Jonin Guard to deal with the consequences.

-Scene Change-

It was the next day as we all sat in the classroom.

The air was filled with a mix of anxiety and excitement.

Today, was graduation day.

Well, at least for those capable of graduating.

At that, I snuck a look at Naruto, who was looking more boisterous and motivated than ever.

Must be that boost he got from painting the Hokage Monument yesterday, against the suggestions of both Shikamaru and me.

Or the outstanding effectiveness of his "Sexy Jutsu"

Iruka stood before the classroom as he announced, "For the Graduation Exam, you will be performing the "Clone Jutsu". When you are called, come to the next room."

At that, expectedly, Naruto's face sunk in stark contrast to his former expression.

Naruto is the 3rd strongest right now in the class.

I don't recall whether he was dead last physically speaking at this point, so I have no idea whether to attribute this to my presence motivating both him and Sasuke to get stronger.

Truth be told, this is an incredibly dumb and easy test.

Mastering one of the Academy 3 being the only deciding factor for graduation is the Achilles Heel of this whole education system.

This is coming from someone who studied the stuff on here rather religiously.

Except when I skipped lessons to chill.

Naruto, should, by all means, be allowed to Graduate.

But it is also an extremely easy test, just to funnel some poor kids into the Genin Corps just in case.

Iruka called out, "First..." His expression turned complicated, looking at me with a twinge of wariness as he spoke, "Nara Akira."

I eyed the scar on his left arm, caused by a bite for a split second before I got up.

"See you later Akira. Good luck! ...Not that you need it." Choji waved at me, wishing me good luck.

"Don't give Mizuki-sensei a heart attack," Shikamaru deadpanned, his face glued to the table.

I offered a nod and a smirk to my best friends, "Yeah, let me wrap this up real quick."

Although I say that, this atmosphere of excitement is pretty much infectious, getting me caught up in it as well.

Only to be ruined by...

"Kya~! Akira-sama!" A fangirl yelled out, kickstarting the howling.

...Ah, and there it is.

I sighed, realizing what was coming.

Making my way towards the room where Mizuki-sensei and Iruka will be grading me, the uproarious cheers of my name from my... Existent fangirls already managed to give me a headache.

Arguably one of the worst side effects of my "Grand Reveal", was the formation of a fangirl club or whatever rivaling that of Sasuke's.

Truth be told, both of our fangirls had a sort of dark truth I'd managed to get from questioning some of them.

Trust me, I tried to ignore them, but I'm not Sasuke, my nerves aren't made of steel.

Nor would I detach myself from something this mild.

So, being a person of sound mind, asked them to politely explain what it is they like about me, and why they are so fervorous in their fangirlish behavior.

Some responded that they found me appealing because of X, Y, and Z - Most relating to my performance in class, and the announcement only ignited that.

While most, however, gave me an intriguing answer.

Something along the lines of - "My parents told me to get together with you/flirt with you!" Or "If I marry you, our lives will be so much better and glorious!"

Like a eureka moment, that was all I needed to know.

Securing a better future, by becoming the bride or more likely lover of a Prodigy that wields a brand new Kekkei Genkai in the strongest Shinobi Village in the world?

...For something so sly, they were pretty obvious in hindsight.

At that, I politely requested them to, of course, stop it - As it made me uncomfortable.

No dice.

So here we are, patiently tolerating - And going back to the Sasuke Method of grunting and ignoring.

Man has it down to a form of art.

I'd love to replicate his form of stoicism - That isn't fueled by revenge.

I arrive beside Iruka who silently gestures for me to follow him as we head into the room, the cheers finally dying down and reducing in volume as I heaved a sigh of relief.

Entering the room, a table with a whole array of Forehead Protectors with the Leaf Symbol, with Mizuki sitting behind said table, barely hiding his glare at me.

I stood in front of the table as Iruka sat beside Mizuki, gesturing for me to quickly get on with it, "Proceed."

"Ram"

"Tiger"

Skipping a hand sign for the jutsu I say, "Clone Jutsu!"

An inconsequential dip in my Chakra later and...

A smokescreen formed to reveal 3 Clones of myself.

Truth be told, as much as Mizuki doesn't like me, and Iruka is rather awkward with me.

Even if I were to piss my pants and shit on the floor they have to let me graduate.

And they know it.

So... I'm not worried about any dirty play - At least from Mizuki.

With a stoic expression, Iruka gestured me to come forward, "Nara Akira - Pass."

Going forward, I stood before Iruka as he handed me out the Forehead Protector and with an awkward smile, genuinely said, "Congratulations on officially becoming a Genin of the Leaf, Akira."

Silently taking it and wearing it on my forehead, I nodded and flashed him a short smirk, "Thanks, Iruka-sensei."

As I turned around to make my way outside to await the results of everyone else, Iruka called out, "Oh! And Akira! Be sure to arrive tomorrow morning in the Hokage office for the Shinobi Registration and Shinobi Card! Make sure you arrive at your best so the picture you take won't embarrass you!"

I yelled back, "Yeah, I know."

He should mention that to Naruto, not me.

As I made my way outside with this Headband strapped onto my forehead.

Despite the obvious result of the Exam, I couldn't help but think about how much I've gone through and struggled to get to this point.

12 Years of life in this Shinobi World have brought me to this moment.

The bonds I've managed to form.

All the endless training and guidance from my mentors.

The Exorcism Rituals.

The annoying politics and meetings related to my status, all the theater I had to do here and there for my own benefit.

The... Assassination Missions and lives taken.

And now, this is another major turning point in my life.

Politically speaking as I am an adult in the eyes of the Village - My situation now being more delicate and irritating than ever.

But also, the future events that are much closer than ever before - That may or may not have changed because of me.

There is also the Jonin-sensei alongside teams and officially going out on missions!

Leaving the Academy Building, I am met with the bright sun shining on me and the cool spring air on my body. The sight of the Village in front of me.

I... I find it really hard to express whatever it is I am feeling right now.

Uncertainty?

Excitement?

Anxiety?

Happiness?

Pride?

Maybe all of them.

...Haha, it's been a while since I was this sentimental.

Nevertheless, I deserve to be corny at least once in a while, right?

A genuine smile formed on my face as I gazed at the sun hidden behind clouds, which had risen to its peak.

...

As I lay on the grass of the playground in front of the Academy Building, one by one, my classmates left the building, each with an expression as well as a look that expressed exactly how their Graduation went.

To those who failed - A downtrodden expression and a missing Headband, parents already have begun to arrive to pick them up.

To those who passed - An expression of pure happiness and gleeful pride, Headband firmly and proudly equipped.

Eventually, Choji arrived beside me with the results obvious as he wore that very same excited and innocent expression.

He sat beside me, munching on fittingly termed "Celebration Snacks".

Then Shikamaru arrived as we greeted him, the smile on his face proved to be hard to wipe off, as he was also proud of his achievement.

Without a doubt, for those who passed - This is a sign of a genuine Turning Point.

To the clueless, it was most certainly for the better.

To those in the know and especially me...

Well, we try to make the best of it.

-Scene Change-

It was dark outside, as the sun had just set - Our extended family had finished the grand celebration of my and Shikamaru's Graduation and becoming Genin.

Basically a coming-of-age ceremony in the Village for Shinobi - Not exclusive to the Nara.

I lay on my bed as I heard Shikamaru enter, seeing my contemplative figure, "The marriage proposals?"

I grunted, "Yeah, the marriage proposals. Now that I'm Genin, I have to choose, and soon."

Tactfully, our guests, consisting of Clan Elders like Makoto and the more politically relevant Nara hadn't even mentioned the marriages one bit, with my grace period having been officially past its expiration date as of today, letting me enjoy the most of my celebration.

Only for Uncle to perhaps unintentionally ruin it by mentioning to me that he did his best and that I have a month's deadline to choose a "Wife" out of my... Nara Selection.

I mean I appreciate the heads-up, but you could've told me tomorrow or something.

Ah...

Shikamaru sat on the bed and patted me on the back sympathetically, "I feel you. Akira."

"No, you don't..." I whisper, too tired to get angry.

"Well, have you thought of anyone from your generous range of choices?" Shikamaru teased.

'Noc, Mir. Any news on Naruto?' I pinged at the wolves.

'He. Enter. Hokage Residence.' They responded.

'Good, only intervene if it gets dangerous. Make sure he doesn't escape your detection range.'

Hmm, should be any time now.

Yeah, Naruto failed, as per the script.

But who knows if it will follow exactly as per the script, so I got Noc and Mir to follow and keep an eye on him.

Worst comes to worst together with Naruto they can beat Mizuki.

I summoned them at Level 2 just before I came back home.

"Akira? Well? Who's your choice?" Shikamaru poked my face.

"You're being a pretty big drag right about now," I emphasize.

'Naruto. Left. Hokage. Residence.'

Almost an entire hour passes by as Shikamaru, to my dismay, tries to force a response from me.

A rather uncharacteristic exertion of energy from him all for the sake of pissing me off.

Who left because he got tired.

Leaving me alone for another half an hour, meditating to amplify my Chakra Regeneration only until...

Suddenly, I hear rapid footsteps approaching the door as it bursts open revealing Uncle.

"Don't ask, Akira - We need your wolves right now, to find Naruto."

I ask unperturbed, "Why?"

With a stern expression, he responds, "Classified."

I get up to a sitting position, "I mean I don't mind, but wouldn't a Hyuga, Aburame, or even Inuzuka suffice?"

With a conflicting expression, Uncle responds, "Just in case - Naruto has managed to elude even the ANBU and the Hyuga we have on hand. The wolves are to confirm he isn't hiding where we checked."

My eyes widen slightly at the bluntness, "Weird for you to straight up reveal to me either the incompetence of the ANBU or the Genius of Naruto like that."

He shook his head, "It doesn't matter... Akira stop wasting time, summon them, this is an order from the Jonin Commander."

'Where is he?' I asked Noc and Mir

'Forest. with Iruka.'

'Okay, I'm dismissing Mir. Noc keep an eye on them and follow the orders.'

Good thing I practiced this.

Dismissing Mir, I form the Shadowgraphic handsign of a dog and announce, "Divine Dogs!"

Liquid Shadows move quickly to form the lone figure of Mir, whilst Noc is still a fair distance away from the duo of Iruka and Naruto.

Apparently, if I focus on the connection between me and Divine Dogs, I can isolate one of them and dismiss just one of them, reducing the maintenance cost by half.

The downside is I can't really summon only one of them at a time unless one is already manifested.

What this means, is that this trick has really few uses, as well as Chakra demanding, as I have to basically summon Noc and Mir twice.

Yes, the single summoning of Mir here costs the exact same as if I were to summon both of them.

Very inefficient.

Worthy to note is, that I must summon the Level 2 Variant as its manifested twin is Level 2 as well.

One cannot be at a lower level than the other.

Luckily, this trick has finally got its chance to shine!

Seeing the lone figure of Mir, Uncle asks with a genuinely puzzled expression, "Why only one of them?"

"You need more than one to search previously searched areas? It's pretty demanding on the Chakra." I asked, completely "Clueless".

I mean, it isn't like Naruto stole a Scroll carrying clearly forbidden Jutsu or something.

With a huff of exasperation, Uncle said, "I have no time to argue, I'll take it. Order him to follow my orders."

"Follow his orders, Mir."

'Except if he asks you in any shape or form to lead him to Naruto. He may suspect something by now.'

Mir nodded stoically.

"Follow me, Mir." Uncle ordered as he ran out of the door, Mir following him and trying his best to keep up.

Sorry Uncle, of all the times, this is critically important for Naruto.

I shouldn't be stopping this.

As relative peace returned to my room, I returned to my meditation.

Only to allow it to be broken at times by Noc's reports.

'Mizuki. Attack Naruto.'

'Iruka. Block Shuriken.'

'Naruto. Many Clones.'

'Naruto. Beat. Mizuki.'

With a short smile, I sent Noc a ping, 'Great work. I'll see you later with your favorite snacks.' Dismissing Noc, whilst Mir was still hard at work with Uncle searching the areas.

Ah... All's well that ends well.

-Scene Change-

-Third Person POV-

Late into the night at the Hokage's Office, Hiruzen Sarutobi wrote the final adjustments to the teams, no thanks to the hectic and late graduation of Naruto.

iruka stood before Hiruzen, waiting patiently for him to write the finishing touches.

His expression was troubled at the exhausted and aged look Hiruzen wore as he apologized, his head bowed, "Once again, I apologize for this entire mess Lord Hokage. Had I been more observant I would have noticed Mizuk-"

His apologetic rant was stopped short by Hiruzen's hand and a puff of smoke from his pipe, "Don't worry about it, Iruka... We must be glad it all turned out for the better." He gave him a genuinely warm grandfatherly smile as he handed him the papers for the adjusted teams.

Iruka, mirrored Hiruzen's smile as he grabbed the paper and scanned through the adjusted teams.

His eyes widened at the last team, as he lifted his head to meet eyes with the smug expression of Hiruzen, "I-I thought you meant for the teams to be balanced in strength? T-This is most certainly not balanced Lord Hokage! The opposite in fact!"

It was Iruka's honest reaction, that broke all formality, that was the last straw for Hiruzen as he chuckled, adding "My hands were tied! This was the ideal result!"

'W-What in the world is Lord Hokage thinking? Placing these three together?!' Iruka couldn't unglue his gaze from the last team in the paper.

-Scene Change-

It was two days later, that we finally arrived in the Team Appointment room.

Yesterday's Ninja Registration or as my classmates fittingly likened it - "Picture Day" went by in a breeze.

We got to leave early after we were done with taking our pictures.

Naruto arriving in clown makeup was pretty funny, not gonna lie.

Anywho, back to reality.

This is a legendary room filled with hopes, dreams, and... Disappointment because you have bad teammates.

Arriving early, and sitting beside Choji and Shikamaru I couldn't quell the anticipation and curiosity as to who and what I was going to get - Although I had my suspicions.

Shikamaru who sat to my left had the look of a literal zombie, no thanks to me dragging him from his bed here, and was fast asleep on the table.

"Choji, you excited for who's going to be your sensei?" I ask

With a nod, he responds, "Yeah! I'm glad I'll get to be in a team with Shikamaru and Ino."

This is basically a no-brainer, even with my Show Knowledge.

Ino-Shika-Cho is a politically important team combination - There is no way the Hokage hadn't drafted it, or else he enrages our clans, for no good reason.

So, truthfully, the only thing for them to anticipate is who their Sensei will be.

"More importantly, what about you Akira? Who do you think your teammates will be?" Choji directed the same question at me, only with the uncertainty of my teammates in the mix.

With a tilt of my head I respond, "Hmm, having honestly thought about it, it's most likely thanks to my Status, Skillset, and Kekkei Genkai that I will be getting a personal Jonin to tutor me. Joining other teams on missions when needed." I analyzed.

"Wah, that sounds boring" Choji complained.

I shrugged, "Mhm, but that's what makes sense to me. It isn't unprecedented, there have been many times where the graduates were either uneven in number or one was so good he deserved personal attention."

Never one to miss an opportunity to snark at me, Shikamaru mumbled from his sleep, "Hubris much?"

Obviously ignoring him, and the newly arrived fangirls that have entered the room, I relax on my chair and observe each new arrival.

"I hope my Sensei's a girl..." One fangirl mumbled

"You think we're gonna be on the same team as Akira or Sasuke?!" Another cheered in excitement

Woah, a rare double fangirl.

I thought they went extinct in the Second Akira & Sasuke Fangirl War.

Thankfully, it seems that the stars have aligned - Or that this day was a special day, that my fangirls were too occupied contemplating who their Sensei was and at worst contemplated the chances of being on the same team as me.

Time decided to move at rocket speed, as half an hour passed by.

Kids with forehead protectors arrived in the class.

Hinata.

Kiba and Akamaru greeted me.

Shino - We exchanged a silent nod of acknowledgment.

Then arrived Sasuke who had done the same as Shino when we met eyes.

Although with a little more emotion, and a little more subdued fangirl squealing in the background.

Then, arrived Ino in her lonesome, as she greeted us with a smile, deciding to sit behind us.

After a while, Sakura herself also arrived, looking as if she had rushed here - Deciding to bug Sasuke and try to sit beside him, to Ino's disappointment.

"I wanted her to sit next to me..." Ino whined behind us.

"You know how she is with Sasuke in the picture - In any other situation she'd sit next to you!" Choji tried to placate the heartbroken Ino.

Her head sunk into the table, "Hrgh... I know."

Worthy to note, Ino broke out of her Sasuke infatuation last year when she tried to confess to him... Bravely.

Ah, she was a thorough pain in the ass for a month after that.

The Deadly Sin Of Sloth beside me would agree!

Sometime after that as the team appointment room was nearly filled with our entire class, the blonde menace made its presence very clear upon entry.

"Entering! Uzumaki Naruto! Genin Of The Leaf and Future Hokage! Dattebayo!" He slammed the door open shouting his announcement.

"Wha? Didn't he fail the exam?"

"How did the Dead Last even graduate?!"

Halfassed one-liners like that echoed through the room by my more - Fox-hating classmates.

Of course, our more... Naruto-Tolerate classmates had similarly surprised expressions.

"Heh, he must have cheated," Kiba smirked, as he announced his conclusion

"SHUT UP ALL OF YOU! ESPECIALLY YOU DOGBREATH! I WON THIS FAIR AND SQUARE FROM IRUKA-SENSEI! I'M A BADASS SHINOBI!" Naruto howled his protest as he pointed at his headband proudly slamming a foot on a table.

A table where Sasuke sat at.

"Dobe, shut up." Sasuke scratched his ear, not sparing Naruto a look.

Naruto turned, his expression a snarl as he got in front of Sasuke as he sat on the table, "TEME!? WANNA TAKE THIS OUTSIDE?!"

An amused and confident snort escaped Sasuke.

"YEAH NARUTO! SHUT UP AND GET AWAY FROM SASUKE-KUN!" Sakura yelled.

Grabbing Naruto's attention, "B-But Sakura-chan! What's even so good about this guy anyway!" Naruto pointed as he got dangerously close to Sasuke, trying to make him flinch.

Then, a classmate of mine sat as he was about to lean back.

Butterfly effect my ass, this scene hasn't changed!

I tugged at the sleepy Shikamaru who struggled to get back to sleep from all the commotion, "Yo, you might want to be awake for this."

He grunted as he reluctantly opened his eyes, "What's so special about Naruto and Sasuke fighting agai-"

He was cut off from his sentence by the image of Naruto and Sasuke's accidental kiss.

Complete silence grabbed the room at the scene.

The boiling fury of the Sasuke fangirls and especially Sakura radiated heatwaves across the room.

"UGHHH DISGUSTING! IT TASTES LIKE ROTTEN DUCK!" Naruto bent over in pure agony. Or shame.

Much the same was Sasuke's case as he glared bloody murder at Naruto, "I-I'll kill you Naruto, you bastard!"

Naruto's attention, however, was quickly grabbed by the towering presence of Sakura.

"Hehe, Sakura-chan! I can explain it was a mistake I swear!"

"NA. RU. TOOOOOOOOOO!" She roared.

And... She beat him up. Again.

"The next time, you wake me up to something like this. I'll make sure your marriage partner is Oka's granddaughter." Shikamaru threatened.

Nara Oka's granddaughter... Oh no.

It's a level of ugly you'd expect from Nightmares and not an Anime World, where most women are downright gorgeous by my last world's standards.

"You wouldn't..."

"Oh, I would."

As I was having a staring contest with Shikamaru... A good distance from each other so as to not repeat Naruto and Sasuke's blunder a cough grabbed everyone's attention.

Iruka waited for everyone to register his presence and quiet down.

Once that happened he smiled, "Thank you. Now, you'll be assigned to 3-man teams under the guidance of a Jonin Sensei, completing Missions and assignments as you receive them, etc... All that will be covered by your sensei, and of course, make sure you listen to him! Hubris kills!"

Waiting for us to register the already known information we waited for him to finish up the formalities as everyone was in suspense about the team assignments.

"So, we did our best to balance out the strength of each team." He announced.

"WHAT?!" Was collectively echoed out in the room.

Choji turned to me and whispered, "According to that, then you might be right."

I nodded silently.

"How does one balance around a team with a monster like you?" Shikamaru whispered bluntly.

Rude, but true.

Guess, I'm getting a Jonin tutor.

Not bad, it's something I've basically had my entire life - Just with more leeway and getting assigned missions much more often.

"Let's begin," Iruka said the much-anticipated words.

"Team 4... Jonin Amane Yuro"

"Team 1... Under Jonin Nanami Kento"

...Wait the fuck?

Nah, must be a cosmic joke.

Eventually...

"Team 8 - Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino and Hyuga Hinata under Jonin Yuhi Kurenai"

Truthfully, I was too concentrated on the teams to hear any reactions from the world around me.

"Team 10 - Yamanaka Ino, Nara Shikamaru and Akimichi Choji under Jonin Sarutobi Asuma"

Who would've expected that?

Again, I didn't register the reactions of my friends beside me.

And then finally the "Legendary" Team.

"Team 7 - Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke and..."

Haruno Sakura.

"Nara Akira under Jonin Hatake Kakashi."

Mhm.

...I see, I don't get it.

To Be Continued!

-Author Note Start-

Well, well well.

Now, down with the pitchforks and torches! Please!

As you may have read at the start of the chapter. I had no good excuse for not providing this chapter earlier. I had reignited my Manhwa addiction by binge-reading an assortment of them in my pastime. (Not smart)

So! The Omake wasn't really an Omake - Just to give ya guys some perspective on how good of a job Akira and the rest have been doing on keeping Akira's Ten Shadows on the down low for now.

Might seem counterproductive, but you'll see the purpose later.

For what happened in the 2 year time skip and so on, I'll be going the Naruto approach and just throwing the flashbacks when necessary (Not in an annoying way don't worry).

As for Akira's progress and what he has learned, you got a lil tease, the rest you'll see in action.

"B-But BurgerNoTomatoes! What about Danzo?!" You ask.

Patience, my child.

Eyeball obsession man will have his time!

"What about Makoto's Granddaughter?! Asked no one."

Well... Later lol.

Anywho hope you enjoyed the chapter despite its delay and it was up to snuff in quality n stuff.

Hope the NEW Team 7 is to your liking :P

-Down here is the copy paste stuff-

As always people! If you see any inconsistencies, wrong information, Illogical statements, etc... Notify me, please! I'll fix it ASAP! And or explain it later on in case I had planned to make it vague in the first place.

Also, all comments, reviews, constructive criticism and so on Are much appreciated! I especially love Constructive criticism because it allows me to improve the story in real time! I try my best to follow your advice!

I enjoy responding to you all! So do send them comments! Also, ideas are also welcome! I'm not that creative so assistance from you guys is always nice! Yup!

I hope you lovely people have a fantastic rest of the day/week. And I'll see you in a week's time or so :P

Sharks are the only fish species that can blink with both eyes. Here's this week's random fact.
