1 The Disgraced Child

**A.N**

This story is based on the Heian Era of Jujutsu Kaisen. You won't NEED to go and watch it, but I do suggest it lol. I'll try my best, this is the first story I'm fully dedicating myself to, but we'll see how it goes. I'm also new to this site..bear with me.

Kyofu sat alone in the dimly lit room, the faint glow of a flickering candle casting long shadows across the worn floorboards. His clothes were tattered, his hair unkempt, and his eyes held a distant, vacant look.

He gazed absently at the small, wooden table before him, where a single object glistened in the sunlight streaming through a crack in the window. Kyofu reached out to touch the necklace, feeling a warm flutter in his stomach. A weary smile crept onto his lips.

**BANG!**

The door to the small room slammed open, and a tall figure in tattered robes stood in the doorway. "Oi," he muttered.

Kyofu turned toward him. "Oh," he said, his voice tinged with slight disappointment.

"You're still here?" the man said, stepping further into the room. "Kyofu, you lazy boy..." he started. "Get out of bed and find something productive to do."

Kyofu looked at him. "I was just..."

"I don't care. You're old enough to fend for yourself. Go find some work to do."

"Right..."

Kyofu's eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the red pair of eyes peering over his father's shoulder. His eyes stayed on them for a moment, noting the blue, crooked hands pressing down on his father's shoulders. With a determined exhale, he rose from his seat and walked past them. Despite his efforts to ignore their presence whenever they appeared, but he couldn't shake the feeling that they had been clinging to his father for the past few weeks.

The sun's glistening rays pressed up against his face as he raised his hand to shield his face. He gazed left, then right. He breathed in. The slums.

Oh, what a folly place. You could drop dead and nobody would bat an eye. Kyofu looked to his left, gripping the poorly grafted-together straw basket filled with wooden dolls, and carved animal figurines. Sure, they were poorly made, but it was the best he could do.

Walking through the streets, he called out to the passersby with his low voice.

"Toys. Two mon a piece," he said, looking around. Like usual, nobody paid him any mind besides the occasional glares from a geezer.

He pondered. He tried again, "Toys. One mon a piece..."

Nothing. Several hours had passed, and it was now midday. Kyofu wandered toward a corner, scanning for an alleyway. He continued his search, periodically calling out, "Toys. Two mon a piece," but with little success.

Eventually, he stumbled upon an alleyway. He sighed as he peered into the darkness, where two red eyes stared back at him. Another sigh escaped him as he stepped inside, leaning against a nearby wall. Placing the basket beside him, he reached for his neck.

Nothing! He had left his necklace at home. Another sigh escaped him as disappointment washed over him.

For a moment, he considered the possibility that maybe his father could sell it, yet he quickly dismissed the thought. Oddly enough, he had been quite ignorant of the necklace's value. Despite the risk of it getting stolen if seen, Kyofu enjoyed keeping it with him.

He sighed, standing up and flicking his fingers over the basket's handle as he rose to his feet.

"MMMPHFFF!"

**THUD**

The night sky shined on Kyofu's figure as he stared blankly at the doorway to his and his father's home. The door was knocked off the hinges. Slowly, he walked up the stairs, peeking his head.

As he moved down the hallway, another sound echoed.

**THUD**

"MMFFPH.."

Was that his father? His heart raced as he reached the end of the hallway, cautiously peeking around the corner. Three men were beating him. His mind raced with questions. Debt collectors? Who had he pissed off this time?

**CRUNCH!**

"ARRRGG!! AAAAGHHH!!!"

One of the men stomped on his father's extended arm, kneeling down and gripping his hair. With a yank, he brought his bloodied face closer.

"I seen yer son with a necklace. It's valuable. I know ya' got it round' here somewhere."

"Blergh.." The figure clasped on his father's back groaned, leaning forward to press its lips against his neck, blood oozing.

"I don't know where it is.." He said, lying through his teeth. He was lying! He was lying for him!

**THUD**

"Idiot! You wanna die for this?!"

Kyofu whimpered softly, catching the attention of one of the men.

'Idiot!' Kyofu thought to himself as he stopped peeking and stared blankly at the opposing wall. He didn't hear-

Suddenly, Kyofu was yanked from his place on the wall and thrown into the common area.

"You think you're slick, don't you?" The first thug growled. Kyofu attempted to stand, but before he could rise, a powerful kick slammed into his stomach, knocking the air out of him.

The thug glanced at the brutalized old man, currently choking on his own blood. "You're gonna die," he said bluntly, turning his attention to Kyofu.

"Here's how this is gonna go," he continued, releasing Kyofu. The boy's face hit the floor with a resounding thud.

The other two men seized Kyofu and slammed him into the ground.

"I'm gonna beat your old man to death unless you tell me where that damn necklace is, you little brat," the thug spat.

Kyofu looked at his father, tears welling up in his eyes. "Wait.."

The thug stared at him, a brief silence hanging in the air before he sighed and stood, delivering a blow to Kyofu's father's face.

"MMFPH!" Kyofu's plea fell on deaf ears as the beating continued mercilessly.

*THUD*

"Stop.. please.. stop.."

"PLEASE!"

*THUD*

"STOP!"

*THUD*

"Go search the house," the murderer commanded. The thugs released Kyofu, but in a moment of desperation, he reached out and gripped one of their arms.

He called out to the universe, his silent plea for vengeance echoing in the darkness. He wanted them to die. He wanted to kill them. He wanted to rip them apart, dismantle them, limb from limb.

And the universe responded.

Kyofu found himself standing on the gallows, surrounded by a crowd of faces, some familiar, others strangers. His hands were bound tightly behind his back, and his body bore the markings of a criminal, dark tattoos twisting across his skin like sinister serpents.

The executioner, clad in the regal attire of a samurai, stepped forward with his katana drawn. "As decreed by the shogun," the samurai's voice echoed through the crowd, his words cutting through the tense silence. "This boy, Kyofu Nakamura, stands accused of heinous crimes. It is said that he slaughtered five men, one being his own father, all within his household, leaving nothing but death in his wake. A two-faced demon, silent in the face of justice, said nothing once authorities arrived. He hid his true nature until the moment of reckoning."

His gaze fell upon Kyofu, cold and unforgiving. "For all these sins, he shall face the ultimate punishment, and be stripped of his life."

Kyofu closed his eyes.

What a waste.
