14 Snails

I crouched down into a stance and said, "New Shadow Style: Battō".

Instantly I took out my Katana and sliced multiple cursed spirits in half.

I took a closer look at my Katana that I picked up from the armoury. You would expect to be many Cursed Tools with Cursed Techniques, but sadly there weren't any after Toji stole them and subsequently destroyed them in his battle with Gojo Satoru. Still, this was the best option as it was the most lightweight, strong, durable and sharp weapon in the armory. Plus it looked cool with its black blade.

After goggling at my sword we started on the highest floor and ended on the ground floor. I faced a lot of Cursed Spirits, but they were very weak for some reason. Like Grade 3 at most.

Kusakabe let me deal with all of them as they weren't worth the effort of us both attacking at the same time. He also kept a lookout for any hidden Cursed Spirits because many sorcerers died because they were attacked from the back.

So we exercised every Curse Spirit that came our way. We just faced one problem.

"Why hasn't the curtain dropped down?" I asked Kusakabe.

Kusakabe replied, "It means we haven't exorcised all of the Cursed Spirits."

"That doesn't make sense. We've been to all of the rooms and floors. I also double-checked the photo on the school map."

"Megumi, remember this lesson. There is always an exception to the rule. Even if we've been everywhere the last one could still be hiding from us."

While Kusakabe explained his lesson we both heard a thunk coming from the lockers.

Kusakabe looked at me with an 'I told you so' expression and started walking towards the locker where the sound originated from.

The locker didn't look all that special except for the small dent marks that seemed to be coming outwards.

I took a step back and made a hand sign.

"Diving Dog: Totality!"

A large black and white dog came out of my shadow. It bore its teeth towards the locker, sniffing something wrong.

"Be ready Megumi. I'll open the locker at three."

I gave Kusakabe a nod and placed my hand on the hilt of my katana.

"1,2,3"

The locked locker quickly came open through Kusakabe's reinforced strength.

I was surprised by what I saw.

It was the fat and slow student who gave us directions to the principal's office.

"What are you doing here?" Didn't you hear the announcement?" I asked him.

"I heard it… but they put me… here."

I grimaced at him. He was being bullied. Still, he needed to leave quickly.

"Okay, just go outside and wait."

"…Alright." He replied slowly.

He came out of the locker and slowly headed towards the entrance.

My dog still kept bearing its teeth at him or more precisely on his back.

I looked at his back too and didn't sense any cursed energy. Still, it would be better to be safe than sorry.

I called out to him and said, "Stop!"

He came to a halt in a few seconds.

"What's wrong Megumi?" Kusakabe asked.

"Take off your shirt now!" I said while ignoring Kusakabe.

I could see his expression of not wanting to be humiliated, but he still took it off slowly probably because he was afraid of us.

He finally bared his back.

We saw some kind of Snail Cursed Spirit latched onto his back. It seemed parasitic by the way it was integrated into his back. It also seemed to be growing at a very slow pace, becoming more part of him with each moment.

Kusakebe didn't falter and immediately slashed his Katana at the Snail Cursed Spirit, exorcising it.

The student looked lighter and seemed to be moving their arms at a normal pace.

"My back feels much better now! I don't know what you guys did, but thanks!"

While he was thanking us, I could feel the curtain I set up start to fall after we exorcised the last Cursed Spirit in the building.

"Well, I should get going and all that. See you later!"

He then hurried off at a fast pace.

"It seems we're done here," Kusakabe said while looking satisfied with himself.

"Didn't you teach me that there is always an exception? That Snail didn't leak any Cursed Energy making it impossible for us to sense. The students outside could have it too and we wouldn't be able to sense it."

Kusakabe just sighed at that and nodded along.

"I'll put up a invisible curtain around the whole place this time to make sure none of them leave. Then I'll have my Dog go around looking for the Cursed Spirits and take them out."

Me and Kusakabe followed my Diving Dog and found multiple students with a Snail on their backs.

We just distracted them while my Divine Dog just went ham on their back. Which they couldn't sense or feel, because they were Non-Sorcerers.

The principal seemed to be looking at us, wondering what the hell we were doing, but he quickly shut up when Kusakabe flashed his badge again.

While we looked around we saw the same student who we saved from the locker on the ground being bullied by another student.

"You think you're better than me, Katayama? You'll always be slow and dumb like a pig."

"Stop it, Tsumura! I promise I won't block your way! I just didn't hear what you said!"

"You better!"

My Dog barked at me and signalled toward the bully, Tsumura.

'Seems he's also infected. As much as I want to leave him to his fate, it would probably endanger the other students. Still, that doesn't mean I can't have a bit of fun while exorcising his curse.'

"Hey, YOU!" I shouted towards Tsumura.

"What do you want, brat?!" He replied.

"I have a gift that I need to give you from someone else."

"Really?" He said while walking towards me.

"Yeah, yeah."

I looked around and saw that no one was paying attention to us. So, when he came close enough I whacked him over the head with my Katana that was still in the scabbard, knocking him out.

I then partially summoned the trunk of Max Elephant to make his pants wet. So that it looked like he had peed himself. I then turned him on his back and sliced the Snail instantly.

Looking at him facing the ground, I still wasn't satisfied and decided to smudge some dirt on his pants to make it look like he sat in shit.

'I just really hate bullies.'

Kusakabe just turned a blind eye while I was punishing the teenager and just looked at the falling curtain, which meant that we just exorcised the last Cursed Spirit.
