17 Chapter 16- House visit

The gloomy atmosphere of the Jujutsu High was lifted a little bit by the presence of the senior student named Ryuuji. However, it was a fact that three students were gravely wounded in the battle and some were still recovering from the psychological damage of facing that behemoth earlier.

The upper council of Jujutsu High has called up a meeting to which, naturally, Gojo was invited.

This incident was unprecedented. Nobody in the exorcism world has ever come across something so overwhelming and versatile.

Originally, that creature was a Special-grade Cursed Spirit, which was a surprise in itself. For something so highly graded was able to trespass the barrier of Tengen was quite worrisome. Not to talk about the fact, that the ambush was not just an ambush since the real motive behind the incident was to infiltrate the Jujutsu Tech and steal something from within.

However, what followed the exorcism of Special Grade Cursed Spirit was the true nightmare.

An abominate creature that, not even the strongest sorcerer could defeat.

This single piece of news was going to shock the Jujutsu world and give new hope for those Curses, who have been waiting for their Messiah.

It was natural for the Council to call forth this meeting urgently, despite the casualties they faced in the form of some students.

"We were expecting your student to be with you as well."

Gojo was the only one standing in the middle of the room with the curtains around him, hiding the people who were majorly known as 'Higher Ups'.

Although they are the leaders and administrators of the Jujutsu High and handle most of the issues regarding the sorcerer world, Gojo doesn't treat them as his boss.

He didn't need to obey them or answer them.

Not only was he stronger than them, the policies these old people followed, irked Gojo Satoru.

"I don't force my students to do something they don't want to."

His response was something they expected but letting this matter go this easily was never an option,

"The information regarding the Cursed Spirit you have faced today seems to be limited only to your student, Shirakawa Ryuuji. If he cannot disclose the information to us then in the future many of the sorcerers might have to face their demise."

'Emotional blackmailing now, are we?' Gojo grinned as he tilted his head toward the person who just voiced that opinion.

Gojo remained silent for a moment since the statement that the administrator made was somewhat true. If Ryuuji can share information that could help the other sorcerers deal with those kinds of abominations, then it would be very convenient and would save many lives as well.

The contemplation of Gojo Satoru lasted only for three seconds before he responded, "I will talk to him about it. Now, it all depends on him, whether Ryuuji is willing to share the details with you guys or not. Don't expect me to be forceful."

"Fair enough."

*******

Around seven in the evening, Ryuuji was done taking a bath and currently he was enjoying the cool breeze hitting his face as he stood on his balcony.

His left hand held a beer can while he lazily supported his back on the wall and enjoyed the silence.

Today an unexpected turn of events made him aware of the importance of all that harsh training he went through.

The Evil Fragments are dangerous beings who boost the creatures in which they are residing. And due to their diabolical nature, only a Cursed Spirit or incredibly sinful soul could possess evil spirits.

Now, the point is, that every Evil Fragment possesses different skills and buffs. To analyze their skill and annihilate them simultaneously sounds hectic.

'...but do I have an option?'

Ryuuji has trained all those years to extinguish these Evil Fragments from this world....and truth be told, he was looking forward to it. Being depressed with a serene life, it was better to keep on kicking and punching.

'They are here already...'

Ryuuji noticed the slight disorientation of Space around him, which signifies the Teleportation user has just arrived.

He walked toward the front door before the person knocked.

Ryuuji didn't bother putting away the beer before clicking open the door and revealing the faces of two sorcerers.

"Yo~Ryuu-kun. We aren't disturbing right?" Gojo raised his right hand before intruding inside the house.

Ryuuji gave him space before he stood facing the green-haired beauty.

The two stood in awkward silence for a moment before Ryuuji said, "Come in."

Maki wordlessly accepted his invitation and walked inside the house...which she had visited several times in the past as well.

She didn't have many fond memories with this house and truth be told, if possible she didn't want to come here as well. However, she always has given her duty as a sorcerer priority over her personal feelings.

'Not like he would try anything funny in Sensei's presence...' With those thoughts, Maki took a seat on the couch as she saw Ryuuji walking inside the kitchen and bringing something for them.

"Wasn't able to make anything fancy...so here you go." What he placed on the table was karaage with some kind of sauce.

"Itadakimasu~" Gojo didn't even hesitate picking one and munching it down.

Maki made a displeased face before she focused on Ryuuji—who was drinking something that seemed like alcohol.

Her gaze narrowed and without even realizing she uttered, "Didn't you stop drinking?"

Ryuuji suddenly halted and parted his lips from the beer before looking in her direction.

"Hmm...well, if you don't want—" Ryuuji clenched his fist and along with the can, the remaining beer turned into smoke, "—then I won't drink."

Maki remained expressionless but from deep within she felt something...tingling her heart. However, she didn't allow her facade to crumble and restrained herself from commenting.

Gojo grinned at the exchange of his two students. He was aware that Ryuuji and Maki shared a very lovely and dramatic past and seeing them like this, proved all those rumors to be true.

However, naturally, he didn't pry about it but rather asked Ryuuji about the matter for which they had come here,

"So Ryuuji-kun...I was wondering if you could share the details about the thing we faced." Gojo draped his long left leg over the other and rested his back against the couch.

Ryuuji sighed; not wanting to speak much but he didn't have any option.

"...hmm, let's see."

********

A/N:- 'Not wanting to speak' signifies that he doesn't like to talk much, not like he wants to keep the Evil Fragments a secret.

Anyway, it was a long hiatus but I will now try to post a chapter every week.

The pairing is already set and maybe...a very thin chance there is...I will make it a harem.

Drop a comment.
