26 Yuta Okkotsu 3

"Is this supposed to be some sort of test?" Maki asked as she aimed the tip of the spear at Amon.

"Don't you know you are cursed? This a place for learning about curses, not a place for cursed people" Maki said as Yuta looked at Gojo in confusion.

"Nationally the number of unexplained deaths exceed and missing person exceed 10,000 annually.

This is the result of negative energy that flows out of people that results in the formation of the curse. There are also evil curse users.

You have to fight curses with curses. Here in Tokyo Jujutsu high school, we learn to exorcize curses" Gojo explained. While everyone looked at him weirdly.

'You are telling me this now?' Yuta thought in dismay.

"Oh, I'd step away if I were you guys" Gojo warned them.

A huge hand manifested behind Yuta and grabbed Maki's weapon.

"Don't bully Yuta" It said in a distorted voice as it tried to attack Maki, Panda and Toge. Gojo saved them in time. Then he explained to them about Yuta's condition and Rika's origins. They were very shocked that Yuta was cursed by the girl he loved.

"Attacking Yuta may or may not active Rika. So, be careful. Anyway, everyone get along with Yuta" Gojo said as he started introducing everyone to Yuta.

He first introduced Maki, then Toge and Panda and finally came to Amon.

"Grade 2 sorcerer who has a bizarre technique, Amon" Gojo introduced.

"So including you, there are five first years" Gojo said excitedly.

'So, four humans and an animal' Yuta thought.

"After class is going to be conducted in pairs. Toge and Panda pair up. Maki and Yuta pair up" Gojo said as he was showing two with his hands.

"Gah" Maki made an irritated face.

"I'm looking forward to working with you" Yuta said.

"You were bullied weren't you" Maki asked as Yuta shivered.

"Thought so, I would totally pick on you" Then Maki started berating the already depressed Yuta.

"I bet you have been passive your whole life without any goals and motivation" Maki said to Yuta. Amon's eyes narrowed suddenly. He didn't know why but that comment made a tug in his heart.

'What is my motivation? What is the reason for my reincarnation? I have been in this world for nearly 16 years but I didn't still find any reason.

I couldn't even connect properly with people. I only see them if they are interesting or useful. Is just pursuing excitement the only thing I want?' Amon thought. No matter how he thought he couldn't find the answer.

Panda interjected and comforted Yuta. Gojo looked at the abnormally silent Amon and asked, "Anything wrong Amon?"

"Nothing" Amon answered.

"W-what about him sensei? Is he not going to be on any team" Yuta asked as he looked at Amon. He had an impression of Amon as he gave him a knife without a thought when he wanted to commit suicide.

"Don't worry about him" Gojo said.

'Why do I suddenly feel like a side character?' Amon thought.

Maki and Yuta were paired up and sent to a school to exorcize a curse. Yuta Okkotsu has successfully exorcised his first curse but he manifested the special grade curse Rika.

Currently, Maki was in the hospital as she was a bit injured in the mission.

Yuta sat in his room as Gojo arrived to visit him.

"Sensei, Maybe Rika's not cursing me...Maybe I am the one cursing Rika" Yuta said as tears welled up in his eyes.

"I've always believed that love manifests the most distorted curses" Gojo said.

"I am going to unravel Rika's curse at Jujutsu high" Yuta said in determination.

It has been nearly a month since Yuta started attending Jujutsu high. He has been learning to channel Rika's curse into a katana to fight.

Right now all the first years were in the training ground as Yuta and Maki were sparing. Maki was overjoyed as Yuta was also a cursed tool user. So, she frequently spared with Yuta.

Maki kicked Yuta in the stomach as he fell down after retreating few steps.

"Hmm, Yuta why don't you spare with Amon for a change?" Gojo said as he looked at Yuta.

"You have learnt and practised all the basics from Maki. Now, you need to experience fighting different opponents. Have a spar with Amon as fighting with him is pretty tricky" Gojo said.

"Amon, what do you say?" Gojo looked at Amon.

"Okay, I am very curious to fight with special grade sorcerer Yuta" Amon said sarcastically. Due to the nature of Rika, Yuta was given a special grade.

Yuta rested for a while as he was still sore from getting beaten up by Maki. Amon did a few stretches and took a bokken. He preferred using short weapons.

Soon Amon and Yuta stood opposite to teach other. Yuta raised his Katana as he said "Go easy on me Amon"

Amon just smiled as he waited for Yuta to attack first. Yuta waited for a few seconds but he eventually attacked first.

He struck with his katana as Amon blocked it. They exchanged a few blows with their swords.

Yuta swung his sword horizontally as Amon blocked it. Amon kicked Yuta in the stomach simultaneously. Yuta blocked the kick in the last second with his sword. Amon took a step back.

"Your reflexes are pretty good" Amon commented. Amon struck back with his sword as Yuta retreated backwards while he was defending the strikes.

Amon thrust his sword towards Yuta's stomach. Yuta hurriedly moved his sword to protect his stomach.

But it was a feint. Amon didn't attack Yuta. Amon lightly moved his legs and tripped Yuta. Yuta fell with a thud as Amon placed his sword on Yuta's neck.

"You die" he said as he smiled.

"You are too focused on attacking and defending that you fail to notice the feints in-between" Amon said.

Using feints at the correct place and time is an important factor that lets one win in a fight.

"Okay" Yuta said as he got up from the ground.

After this small bout, everyone started training hand to hand combat. Gojo gave some pointers to everyone. Maki also taught others the basics of different weapons.

Everything was going peacefully. But that was just the calm before the storm.
