3 Chapter 3- Rebirth!

A/N: - Hayato has been living as Megumi to get used to his character and body structure while he trains so don't get confused when I mention Hayato as Megumi in the chapter.

--------------

Megumi(Hayato) parted his eyes and assessed the surroundings for a bit. The fact that he was observing his situation the first thing after waking up in this new world emerges from the training he had done constantly for two years back in the Goddess Sanctuary.

He had been grinding nonstop. The fundamental requirements of human-like eating and sleeping were a matter of no concern. When he gets fatigued, Megumi just rested a bit, drank some potions, and went back to his training.

Initially, it was just his physical work like cycling, hiking, running with heavy backpacks, and such. Slowly the training intensified and he was given logs in his back to carry and run around the huge ground. Had to carry water tanks up the hill and had to cycle with the weight of two humans in the back seat.

Humanly, it was impossible to do what he had done back in Sanctuary but as his teacher said, his growth has been granted limitlessly as a bonus gift by the goddess. He thanked the goddess and prayed to her whenever he got the time for the wonderful blessing.

His physical training continued and after six months, Megumi was invested in martial arts and the usage of weapons. He learned everything that existed in the name of a weapon. Most of them were unknown to his narrow range of knowledge but Megumi was able to wield it at the end of his first year.

After that, his training in character-specific abilities and other supernatural skills began. The teachers changed and the new ones were more strict than the previous ones.

Well, considering how many things Megumi had to learn the strict method of teaching was best suited for him. Cursed techniques, domain expansion, ten shadows, and this related to Divine protection were thoroughly instilled in his system.

The latter part of his training was tremendously difficult and scary at times when he was left in a cage with his shadows and told to deal with them. Megumi had to defeat each of his shadows one after another before he was able to gain command of them.

Thankfully, those shadows whom he defeated could be used to challenge the next one. Megumi utilized all his other shikigamis while fighting Mahoraga and on his eighth attempt was when he finally defeated The general.

When he was leaving the Sanctuary, his teachers all gathered and in the name of farewell, they granted him a gift.

Spatial weapon storage.

Several weapons, all of high quality were stored in his shadow. Other than the recorded weapons nothing more could be added to the storage and there's an auto-repairing function available as well, which repairs every damaged weapon back to its best state.

Megumi also got kind of emotional at that time so he didn't ask them what kind of weapons there were in the storage and after giving them a goodbye hug, he landed into the consciousness of the original Megumi.

"Let's see... " Getting off his bed, Megumi landed his feet on the cold ground. He didn't have any socks on so he slid his feet inside the sleepers.

Memories began flooding down the lane as he calmly walked toward the only mirror in the room.

The room was simple and neat. The only thing that remained out of order was his bed which was like that since Megumi must have remained restless all night due to the transfer of soul.

Megumi's memories were now Hayato's and so was his identity. Hayato was now Megumi and Megumi was now Hayato in a single body.

"Hmm...I look the same as the anime version... " Megumi used to tie his hair back during his training to save himself from needless delay and avoid any situation where his hair could come in the way.

He decided to do something about his hair once he gets in the bath but for now, something seemed to be wanting his attention.

"You need something from me, Sensei?"

The person had near-zero curse energy radiation and had been silently waiting outside the room since the time Megumi woke up...possibly even before that.

But Megumi was able to sense the guy since no one could get rid of their shadow. Not even the strongest sorcerer.

"Eiyaaah~I may be getting old at this. " The doors were pushed open, revealing the face of the renowned sorcerer and probably the most badass white-haired character.

(A/N: After Kakashi of course.)

There was a cheeky smile spread on his lips and his blindfolds were placed over his eyes as always. Hands inside the pocket and body all relaxed.

It wasn't just for show rather Gojo Satoru does trust Megumi to that extent. Well, it wouldn't matter if Megumi attacks him suddenly or not since nothing has gone past his Infinity...until now that is.

"You wanted something from me this early in the morning." Even though he already knew why the man suddenly arrived at Megumi's door, he had to ask to not come out suspicious.

"Hmm~Well, can't I meet my dear student early in the morning?"

Probably Gojo must have sensed some abnormal changes in Megumi last night since the soul convergence had been in process for a while now. Even now, Megumi could sense that from behind those blindfolds, Gojo was assessing him.

Megumi didn't show any sign of apprehension and replied in his usual tone, "If not for something you might not have even bothered coming here just before your trip. "

Megumi knew Gojo's duty around the country and how he had to always travel to keep things in check so his hunch that Gojo would be leaving soon wasn't completely out of order.

Gojo remained smiling as he walked toward the window and opened it, allowing the natural sunlight to flow inside the dark room.

"I wanted to hear from you Megumi...about your new team and how well you are getting along with them. "

The new team was of course about Kugisaki Nobara and Itadori Yuji with whom he has handled only one mission...more like it was the debut show of Yuji and Nobara.

Megumi scratched the back of his neck before he plopped down on his bed with his left foot planted at the edge of the bed.

"Well...they are tolerable and easygoing. Why you ask? "

Gojo didn't turn to look at Megumi before he replied in an unusually serious tone, "When I won't be around, I want you to look out for them, alright?"

Megumi's brows raised since this talk between them wasn't canon so he didn't know that the aloof Gojo Satoru could be caring like this at times as well.

Well, he does care about his students but still, this off-the-mark conversation made Megumi slightly surprised.

Nevertheless, he replied soon after, "...alright. "
