2 Chapter 02

Mark could barely remember the content of the conversation he'd had with Gojo Satoru. In fact, he felt that he had acted more automatically than anything else.

It was all still very unreal for him.

Execution, Sukuna, curses. He knew the origins of these terms.

Jujutsu Kaisen.

An anime that one of his companions on the space station insisted he watch. Eventually, with nothing else to do, Mark decided to give it a go.

He found the plot interesting and committed to watching it in its entirety.

Unfortunately, the phenomenon that dragged him into this world had arrived before he could complete the story.

Sitting on the sofa at home, Mark looked at his hands with interest, his teeth clenching as a bolt of pain ran through his head.

Even though he knew he was now in a fictional world, that wasn't the main thing that shook him.

But he had now become a completely different person.

He had become Yuji Itadori, the main protagonist of the story.

He had become Sukuna's vessel, someone destined to suffer from the beginning to the end of the story.

That was the main thing that shook him up.

"What the fuck."

Holding his head, he clenched his teeth as a powerful pain began to threaten to explode in his head.

From the moment he found himself in this world, memories of Yuji's life flooded into his head. He was able to detail every single one of Yuji's birthdays, and it wasn't pleasant at all. So much information invading his mind caused him unbearable internal pain, to the point where he almost fainted several times during the day.

Fortunately, Mark had a certain tolerance for headaches due to his work, so he was able to withstand them. But it was still annoying to receive a load of memories followed by severe pain.

This time, the memories of Yuji and Megumi's confrontation against a curse at school, and then Yuji swallowing one of Sukuna's fingers, were what invaded his thoughts.

It seemed like the last memories he would ever receive.

Receiving Yuji's memories was strange. It seemed to somehow alter his own personality.

As far as he had noticed, he didn't share Yuji's thoughts, nor did he share the same body. He had completely taken over the boy's body, leaving only his memories behind.

But it still seemed to affect Mark in some way. The boy's sense of justice was strong, strong enough to merge with Mark's own sense of justice.

Even though he had taken over Yuji's body, Mark could tell that the boy hadn't disappeared completely. He was now, in a way, part of Mark himself.

Relaxing his body when the pain finally subsided, Mark, now Yuji, turned to the ceiling with a downcast expression.

From that moment on, he didn't know what to do.

Having vast knowledge of his own future in that world, there were many things to do, but was that really what he wanted? Mark had a quiet life before he was swallowed up by that strange light, he didn't have to deal with anything like what this world had to offer.

Even though for many, living in an anime world was like a dream, Mark had not yet fully accepted this fact.

Dealing with Kenjaku and other curses trying to bring Sukuna back, while in the process tormenting him by killing his allies, was not something Mark wanted.

But even so, he didn't want to just give in. Having been given a chance to live in another world, he wanted to take advantage of it, not just be a slave to fate.

He still had hesitation in his heart, but he knew that simply waiting and hoping that everything would work out would not.

He needed to act, he needed to decide.

And even though he didn't know if this was really the right decision to make, he decided to take the safe route.

He would follow Gojo Satoru to the Jujutsu school.

.

Sitting on park benches, Itadori and Gojo stood side by side while the younger man stared at a strange finger with disgust on his features.

After sharing with Gojo his desire to help people, Gojo promptly gave him one of his Sukuna fingers.

The dialogues in the original story were not something Yuji could remember clearly, but based on the personality of the former Itadori, he was able to answer truthfully, which fortunately meant that Gojo didn't suspect a thing.

Besides, it wasn't as if Gojo knew Itadori well enough to suspect his change of personality.

"Damn, that's disgusting." Yuji, looking at that demonic finger, couldn't help but snicker.

Yuji, even with the memories of the old Itadori fresh in his mind, still hesitated to swallow that finger. Space food was bad, but nothing compared to swallowing a corpse's finger.

"Shit!"

But, closing his eyes, he simply threw the finger into his mouth, swallowing it in one go. The sensation of the finger scraping his throat made him frown in disgust.

But before he could think about how disgusting it was, his eyes widened as a powerful energy coursed through his body.

Yuji could clearly feel the absurd increase in power that his muscles received for a moment, that strange energy coursing through his body madly.

'How much energy! I can clearly feel that monstrous power!'

But just as the power suddenly appeared, it disappeared in the blink of an eye, leaving Itadori clenching his fists as he tried to imprint that sensation in his memories.

'This power... If I'm able to assimilate it, can I increase the level of my cursed energy? The old Yuji was originally able to use cursed energy, but I don't remember him keeping up with Sukuna's power according to the fingers he consumed.'' Itadori frowned. 'If I can do that, I can change everything. My life will become infinitely more peaceful.''

Gojo smiled as he saw how the boy only returned to normal after swallowing another finger. He realized that Itadori was definitely a talent that only appeared every thousand years.

"I imagine it's all right now, isn't it?"

Gojo asked, Yuji standing up while looking at his fists with a strange interest.

While the memories of the former Itadori mingled with his own, he was far from being like the former holder of this body.

He had his own thoughts about his execution, and even with the boy's memories affecting his personality, he wasn't as altruistic as Yuji.

He would not accept his execution. If he had to completely subjugate Sukuna so that he could continue living, then he would find a way to make it happen.

If in the future the upper echelons still wanted him dead, then he would kill every single one of them.

But for now, his main goal was to become strong enough so that one day he could say those words out loud.

"Yes." Turning to Gojo, Yuji cracked a determined smile, his eyes emitting a glint that drew a smile from the stronger sorcerer. "Let's do it."

"All right, let's go!" Clapping his hands, Gojo stood up.

"It looks like you've broken up."

Surprised by a new voice, Itadori turned to see Megumi standing right behind him.

'How stealthy.

"Oh, Fushiguro. You look better." Yuji cracked a smile at the sight of Toji's son. "At least, much better than the last time I saw you. You were pretty down."

"I'm recovering." Megumi sighed, her eyes resting on Itadori for several seconds. "Itadori... You seem to have changed a bit."

Yuji was taken aback by those words, but was quick to hide his reaction, a nervous smile appearing on his lips as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Well, knowing that I'm destined to be executed can change someone's outlook on life."

"..."

"I... I can understand that."

"Well, since that's all settled, let's go!" Turning around, Gojo waved for the two to follow him.

The two teenagers looked at each other for a moment before following the man.
