1 Chapter 01

⛩️

In the vastness of endless space, a space station floated next to a colossal blue planet, the planet where evolution had become the main factor that set it apart from most others.

Planet Earth.

But this small planet was irrelevant at the moment.

The real focus was on an astronaut who, outside the space station, was too busy with some wires in his hands, using pliers to cut and reconnect them.

While other astronauts were too busy relaxing inside the station, or busy with their own business, a single astronaut was doing maintenance outside.

But while most people would be bored doing the job alone, that astronaut couldn't care less. In fact, he enjoyed leaving the station, letting himself float in space while he had the chance to look at the immense blue planet he knew as home.

It was invigorating. The infinite stars covering all the darkness of that space, close enough to see, but far enough away to know that they might never be able to reach them.

Scary, but intriguing at the same time.

"How are you doing, Mark?"

Mark, the astronaut outside, suddenly blinked when a voice sounded from his earpiece, immediately recognizing the voice of the woman responsible for monitoring him while he was doing maintenance.

"Bella! I thought you'd abandoned me out here, I was getting lonely."

Mark joked with his wife, hearing a sigh on the other end of the line.

"Stop joking, besides, you hate it when I interrupt your music."

Mark, who couldn't deny this fact, just went back to concentrating on the wires in his hands, briefly returning to answer the woman's first question.

"I had to change the wires in the communication system, for some reason they were in a sorry state."

He reported, and hearing no response from the other side, closed the panel in front of him when he had finally finished.

"I'm returning to the interior of the station." He declared, not waiting for an answer as he began to move towards the station's entrance

But while Mark was thinking that his return would be like all the hundreds of times he had done it, something strange caught his eye.

A light, one so weak that it could easily disguise itself as a star, but Mark easily noticed it.

This made him frown, after all, a strange light in the middle of the emptiness of space was not really a common sight.

So to see something like that was intimidating, even for someone like him, who had put his life at risk just to get to space.

"Bella, tell me, you're seeing this too, aren't you?"

He asked with a little tension. He couldn't be going mad, living in space could make astronauts paranoid, but Mark was someone who never had a problem with that.

"Mark, come back immediately."

Receiving an answer, his eyes widened as he noticed the tone of urgency in the voice of the woman he knew to be the quietest person in the station. This immediately made him move.

But, causing him to freeze, his eyes widened when that strange light suddenly expanded, growing to the point where it was even bigger than the space station.

"Fuck."

He realized that whatever was happening, it was by no means something orchestrated by human beings.

Because in the next instant, that light, which had previously been at a safe distance, suddenly appeared in front of the station, moving closer and closer as it threatened to engulf it.

Mark, completely ignoring the desperate screams in his headset, stared at the light with frightened fascination. His eyes now gave off a strange glow, the glass of his helmet preventing his face from being seen.

"So that's it?"

Withdrawing his attention from the light that was centimeters away from engulfing him completely, he took one last look at planet earth.

Mark had a quiet life. He graduated, married a beautiful woman, and managed to do what he dreamed of at the age of 27.

He had no regrets, and death didn't frighten him. The only thing he could have wanted at that moment was the chance to say goodbye to the people who were important to him.

But unfortunately, as his body was swallowed up by that light, he realized that this would be impossible.

So he could only make do with what he had at the moment.

His last memories of the great life he had.

"Well, I couldn't have asked for anything better."

As his face was about to be swallowed, a confident smile appeared on his lips.

"Go ahead."

*Silence

By July 23, 2028, the space station and its crew had completely disappeared.

.

"Good morning."

With a strange voice greeting him, a sleepy Mark slowly opened his eyes, his head rising to meet a figure in front of him, his vision blurred enough that he was unable to make out its features.

"Ugh... What the hell happened?"

Mumbling, the confusion in his head prevented him from noticing when his words came out totally different from what he was used to.

"You're in a very delicate situation, let me introduce myself."

Mark closed his eyes for a moment, opening them so that his vision was finally clear.

"I'm Gojo Satoru, the teacher in charge of freshmen at the school of magical techniques."

"Now, answer me: Which one are you now?"
