Chapter 7 - Ten Years

Lady Lilith was on her journey to find the worthy Apostile for her master, but ten years had passed on Earth. Time flowed slower in the Abyss than on Earth, where ten years on Earth equated to only one year in the Abyss. Nevertheless, she spent ten years on Earth searching for the worthy Apostile for her master. And then, one day...

Everyone had come to accept the new reality, and it became a daily routine for people. For the past ten years, humanity had been fighting, yearning for this miserable reality to cease to exist. They were grinded between monsters and Hunters. However, the Hunters had no desire for this reality to change, as they hold the power and positions in society. They begin to ruled the world, and none of them wanted that to change. Hunters blinded by their greed of power, money and position they had everything in the world.

As time passed, humans utilized modern technology to create a power measuring device to understand their abilities. They established the Guild, which was led by the most powerful S rank hunters and also small guilds ran by A rank hunters and government established the Hunter Association, governed by the government authorities. The government implemented new policies to maintain a balance between Hunters and humans, giving rise to a new species known as Hunter. The world now divided between Hunter and humans.

Five S rank Hunters who once fought toghther to save the humanity now went on their own path and established the four power guild that hold the position to change the fate of nation, one of S rank Hunter Eun Young-II joined the hand with Jang to form a strongest Rank one guild in Korea.

Present Day, somewhere in Seoul.

Heo Dae is a poor and weak student in a Korean University, studying law. He is not awaken, no god heard his prayer, struggling to make ends meet with the meager earnings from his part-time job at a conventional store. He barely manages his life with the money he earns as a part-timer in a conventional store. Despite his circumstances, he is kind and possesses a strong sense of justice. He cannot stand idly by when there is a crime in front of him.

He also worked as law intern in Phoenix Reborn Guild which is the number one guild in Korea and the leader is Jang Jin-Ho. Jang hold the rank number one in world, the first SS Rank awaken. His role is to manage the legal affairs of Phoenix Reborn Guild.

One day, as Heo Dae was on his way to meet Jang in his office due to legal work of Guild and need his sign on the paper, he overheard a conversation that piqued his interest.

"Our Phoenix Reborn Guild is planning to enter the Dragon Dungeon tomorrow for a grand clearance. Imagine the headlines ha ha ha, it will be all over the news! The Dragon Dungeon, uncleared for a decade" Jang spoke excitedly to a someone inside the office, whose identity is unknown.

Upon hearing this news, Heo Dae's face lit up with happiness. He was excited to hear this news.

"Are you really going to clear the Dungeon?" Unknown person asked to Jang in his mind.

"Your Highness, Do you really not know me? Clearing the dungeon is merely a facade to execute Eun Young-Il. We will portray it as a noble sacrifice for the sake of humanity. Our vice president did her utmost to conquer the Dungeon, but in the end, she sacrificed himself," Jang's face turned serious and determined as he spoke with a firm voice.

Upon hearing this conversation, Heo Dae utterly shocked. He couldn't believe that a noble hero, an SS rank hero, could be involved in such a plot.

"Why would he want to kill the vice president of the Phoenix Reborn?" Heo Dae muttered to himself in disbelief.

"Someone is listening to our conversation. Take care of it; I'm leaving," the unknown said to Jang, and then he disappeared into thin air.

Heo Dae after listening this He start running in a state of fear. His body was drenched in sweat, and his hair stood on end with terror. He knew that Jang was going to kill him. The weight of the truth he had uncovered weighed heavily on his mind, and he now understood the danger he was facing.

From his office window on the top floor, Jang watched Heo Dae fleeing the guild building and running on the road below. Heo's face showed fear and panic, while Jang's expression remained calculating, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

Despite the danger he was in, Heo was determined to find Eun Young-Il and reveal the truth about Jang's sinister plans to kill her in the Dragon Dungeon tomorrow. After running for a while, Heo was out of breath when he reached the front door of Eun Young-Il's house. He hurriedly rang the doorbell, but there was no response. Panic and fear overwhelmed him as death felt like it was approaching from behind

Suddenly the door open, all the worries of Heo vanish as he saw the Eun Young-Il in front him. Eun Young-Il recognized the Heo.

"What are you doing here? Why are you in such a hurry and out of breath? What happened to you?" Eun Young-Il asked Heo, but there was a sinister smile on her face that Heo did not notice. She was not worried at all and there was something on her mind.

"Huff, huff, I... I need to tell you some very important bad news, huff, huff. Jang... Jang... he's planning to kill you tomorrow in the Dragon Dungeon," Heo managed to reply to Eun Young-Il, still catching his breath.

"What! What are you saying? Are you out of your mind? Do you realize what you're saying?" Eun Young-Il replied to Heo with an angry expression on his face.

"Believe me, believe me, I understand the gravity of my words, I am telling the truth. I overheard a conversation between Jang and some unknown person but I did not hear the voice of second person it was like he was talking to himself. They were conspiring a plot to kill you tomorrow and present it as a noble sacrifice to the world," Heo earnestly replied to Eun Young-Il, his expression remained serious, yet there was a hint of urgency in his voice.

"This is a serious accusation. We cannot take it lightly. We need concrete evidence before we can act, but for now come inside my house. Have a tea. You're out of breath. We will talk inside the house," Eun Young-Il replied to Heo with a concerned expression on his face, concealing the sinister intentions in his heart.

Heo and Eun Young-Il went inside the house.
