Xiao Fei

Tang Yin spent the whole 9 hours in the library reading about the Spirit Beast Tamer profession and learning about Demonic Beast Eggs. The Demonic Beast Egg he had gotten from the auction was still sitting in his lap since he could not store it in his storage ring. However, he was still wearing the black cloak, so no one could see the egg.

Tang Yin had also learnt that Spirit Beast Tamers mainly fought with Demonic Beasts, their overall strength and cultivation as one person was not great. But most Spirit Beast Tamers did not fight, they would join sects and families to rear Demonic Beasts for them in exchange for resources and protection.

When the 9 hours passed by, Tang Yin put the book he currently held back in its original position and left the library. He had learned a lot of knowledge regarding Spirit Beast Tamers and Demonic Beast Eggs. He had even read about the Mache Boa Demonic Beast, but he had his suspicions that his Demonic Beast Egg did not come from a Mache Boa. This was pure speculation, and he had no evidence, but he would find out once he hatched the egg.

Tang Yin returned to the inn after a long day at the library, it was night-time when he entered his room. Tang Yin once again moved all the furniture to one side of the room to make space. He brought out the egg from underneath his black cloak and laid it on the floor.

After a moment of hesitation, Tang Yin gritted his teeth and brought out a large amount of Low-grade Spirit Stones and positioned them in a circle around the Demonic Beast Egg like a nest.

After doing all of this, Tang Yin bit the tip of his tongue and spat out a mouthful of blood essence onto the black Demonic Beast Egg. As soon as the blood essence made contact with the egg, it was swiftly absorbed and seeped in like water being absorbed into a sponge.

The Demonic Beast Egg shone with a blood-red halo, a few breaths later the halo disappeared. A strong suction force appeared around the egg swiftly pulling in the Qi from the surrounding Spirit Stones. Within a minute, half the Spirit Stones turned to dust. Tang Yin's expression turned gloomy, he had spent a lot of effort to gather these Spirit Stones. Yet, they were gone just like that.

Once ¾ of the Spirit Stones had turned to dust, a crack appeared on the egg. However, the Demonic Beast Egg still continued absorbing the Qi of the remaining Spirit Stones. The more Qi the egg absorbed, the more cracks appeared around the Demonic Beast Egg.

Eventually, all the remaining Spirit Stones around the Demonic Beast Egg turned to dust. The egg had numerous cracks in it, Tang Yin could see something squirming inside of it.

Suddenly, the Demonic Beast Egg lit up in black flames, the eggshells melted within a second. The black flames disappeared and what appeared before Tang Yin was not a baby Mache Boa, but a chick.

The baby bird had black fur and feathers, the tip of its feathers was crimson red. The baby chick also had a single red crimson feather atop its head, it was a mini crown. The baby chick had a unique striking appearance.

Tang Yin had his speculation confirmed once the baby chick appeared from the Demonic Beast Egg, it was not a Mache Boa Demonic Beast. However, he had no clue what this Demonic Beast before him was.

The baby chick shook its head, it looked towards Tang Yin and a faint connection appeared between the two. It tumbled about before reaching Tang Yin's feet and rubbing against them in affection.

Tang Yin remained cautious; he still remembered the black flames which had lit up the eggshells. The source of the black flames was definitely the baby chick before him. The baby chick seemed to feel Tang Yin's thoughts, as it backed up and screeched.

Tang Yin was shocked, most fully grown Demonic Beasts had low intelligence, and it was especially so for a newborn. Yet, the chick before him seemed very intelligent judging by its actions. Tang Yin crouched down and sent a thought to the black baby chick.

The chick seemed to understand Tang Yin's thought and displayed a disgusted expression. Tang Yin let out a wry smile, the chick had refused to listen to him because it was disgusted by the fact Tang Yin had spat out blood essence onto it, instead of using blood from his finger.

Tang Yin sent out a thought of apology to the chick, the chick reluctantly approached Tang Yin, Tang Yin opened his hand and the chick jumped on.

Tang Yin brought the black chick closer to his face and inspected it closely. The chick seemed uncomfortable under his gaze; it turned its body around. Tang Yin looked at the chick's black feathers with red at the tips, 'It's really beautiful'. The chick seemed to have understood Tang Yin's thought and turned back around, it put on a prideful expression.

"Hm, ill name you Xiao Fei." Tang Yin said aloud, the chick seemed to really like the name and nodded its head vigorously.

Tang Yin wryly smiled again, the chick seemed to be highly intelligent, but just as unruly. Tang Yin did not pay any more attention to the chick, he sat down on his bed and sent out a thought to the chick telling it not to wander out of the room and started meditating.
