16 Change of Plan

Tang Yin looked at the jade box before him, he was curious as to what was so special that it required a jade box to be contained. He carefully lifted the lid off the jade box, he saw a pill.

This pill was light blue and about the size of the tip of his index finger. The inside of the jade box had 3 words carved into it, Spirit Adaption Pill. 'From the name of the pill, this pill should be harmless and should be used for new cultivators to increase the familiarity between themselves and their Martial Spirit.'

However, he was not completely sure. Tang Yin averted his gaze from the pill to the Spirit Stone. Other Spirit Channelling Realm might not be able to absorb it, but that did not necessarily apply to him, after all his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit was special. He wanted to test this theory out, if he could not Devour the Spirit Stone, he would not make any losses, but if he was able to Devour it, then the benefits would be huge.

Tang Yin had decided to risk it. He activated his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit; the Martial Spirit shrouded the cave in a vortex. Before devouring the Spirit Stone, Tang Yin placed the pill into his mouth and swallowed it whole.

If Shan Yu were alive and saw this, he would gnash his teeth in anger. This Spirit Adaptation Pill had cost him more than the storage ring and Spirit Stone combined. He practically had to beg for it to be able to get his hands on the pill.

After swallowing the pill, Tang Yin held the Spirit Stone in his palm and thought 'Devour'. The Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit got to work and sucked in the Qi inside the stone into the black vortex at a rapid speed. A few breaths later, the Spirit Stone became dull and was reduced to dust.

'My body feels warm and there's a strange energy circulating throughout my body, is it the Qi from the Spirit Stone?' Tang Yin's thoughts raced inside his mind, and he embraced this comfortable feeling.

Tang Yin slowly felt the Qi within his body dissipating alongside the warmth from the pill. BANG, his body let out a bang only he could hear. Tang Yin had heard this bang multiple times before and recognized it immediately.

'6th stage of Spirit Channelling Realm, isn't my cultivation rising a bit too quickly?' Tang Yin looked at his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit in shock and amazement. Although he had expected there to be a change if he managed to absorb the Spirit Stone, he had not expected to leap to the next stage in a few breaths, this had surpassed his expectations drastically.

It had only been nearly a month since he had awakened the Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit, yet he was already at the 6th Stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm. Tang Yin was astute, he knew his Martial Spirit was strange but also powerful, if he could rise in cultivation this quickly, then his future was boundless, as long as he didn't court death.

Since he had risen to the 6th stage, his plan to return to Maple Leaf City had to be discarded. To obtain the next Martial Skill, Heaven Piercing Gaze, he only had to advance one more stage. Tang Yin could not ignore this and leave the Demonic Beast Mountain, he had already witnessed and wielded the Abyssal Swords power and knew how strong a Martial Skill was, he had to obtain the Heaven Piercing Gaze.

Speaking of this, he thought back to the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit. The Sanskrit had clearly stated only Physique Transformation Realm cultivators could cast Martial Skills since they had a Qi Sea. The Qi Sea was the area cultivators stored the Qi they absorbed. It was also this Qi that was used to fuel a Martial Skill.

Tang Yin did not have a Qi Sea; thus, he did not have Qi that could fuel his Martial Skills. However, whenever he activated the Abyssal Sword, he would feel the Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit inside his body extending itself to his right arm. From this observation, he had concluded that the fuel for his Martial Skill was not Qi but instead his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit!

The intriguing part was that the Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit did not consume itself as fuel, it would use its energy which could be replenished by devouring as the fuel. This observation made Tang Yin excited, he would have a big advantage against those in the Spirit Channelling Realm.

Others in the Spirit Channelling Realm would only be able to use the innate ability of their awakened Martial Spirit, like Tang Yin's Devour. But now, Tang Yin had Martial Skills in the Spirit Channelling Realm, this was a big boost to his combat ability, he could probably even fight against cultivators in the 8th stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm. But he did not want to test this theory out as there were too many dangers and uncertainties to it.

Tang Yin had created a new plan, he would hunt Low Tier and Mid-Tier Rank 1 Demonic Beasts and Devour them until he reached the 7th Stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm, he would then obtain the Heaven Piercing Gaze Martial Skill from the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit and increase his battle ability by another large margin.
