3 Chapter 3

The next morning :-

Jake (came down with his luggage) :- Mom, I'm ready to go. I'll be leaving then.

Jake's Mom :- Have you taken everything, dear?

Jake :- Yes, Mom. Bye.

Jake's Mom :- Bye take care of yourself and my future daughter in law.

Jake :- You too.

On his way to Ericka's house :-

Jake :- I should take the shortcut from the bridge today cause it's getting late. As he passed from the bridge he heard a faint voice calling him. He was scared. He looked around but found nothing. Then he silently followed the noise which led him under the bridge where he found a sword buried within a pile of stones. As he went near the sword the voice got louder and louder. He looked everywhere but found no one. At last he finally came to know that it was the sword which was calling him. He was surprised. He pulled out the sword and made his way to Ericka's house.

As soon as he entered the professor's house, he saw the professor and Erica ready to go on the tour. As soon as he came the professor noticed the sword in his hand.

Professor :- Jake, why do you carry a sword on the tour?

Jake :- This sword isn't mine, professor. I found it under the bridge on the way to your home. I heard it calling my name.

Professor :- What? Hand it over. Let me see it.

Jake gave the sword to professor.

Professor :- What? This...this is an ancient sword, which has carvings of an ancient language. Wait. Let me read this out. It says --

"The one who shall possess this sword shall become the next Trollhunter".

Jake :- Wait. What does this mean?

Professor :- Did you hear what I said? It says 'Trollhunter' which means trolls do exist.

And for you to possess it and hear it's voice, I guess it's fate.

Jake :- You mean I'm the Trollhunter now?

Professor :- It seems so.

Jake :- But why don't I feel any powerful?

Professor :- That maybe because you haven't learnt to control it yet. It will respond to you when you fully learn to control it.

Jake :- I don't understand anything.

Professor :- It's ok. You'll learn as we uncover the kingdom of trolls.

Ericka :- Come on. Stop it already. Shall we go now? Or else we'll be late.

Professor :- Ok fine. Let's go.

Jake :- Yeah.

Professor :- According to the information I've got and based on the sword that Jake got, I think that the gateway to the Kingdom of Trolls is under the bridge.

A while later under the bridge :-

Professor :- Jake, are you sure that this is where you found the sword?

Jake :- Yes, Professor.

Professor :- Then let's look for some clues.

Jake :- Yes sir.

Professor :- Jake, Ericka look around the bridge to find some clues.

Ericka :- Yes dad.

Jake :- Yes sir.

After a hour of searching :-

Ericka :- Dad, I couldn't find anything.

Professor :- I didn't find anything too.

Jake (shout) :- Professor, Ericka, I've found something.

Professor :- What? Let's go.

Ericka :- Yes.

Professor :- Where is it? What did you find? Come show me. Show me fast. Don't keep me waiting.

Jake :- Here it is Professor.

Ericka (shocked) :- What? What is this?
