Cute Night Immortal

After a couple of seconds, Xiang Ling finally let go of Wei Guang's wrist and let out a sigh of relief. The Night Immortal was finally out of danger and his health had improved a lot over the past two days.

For the time being, she was saved from becoming the enemy of one of the most powerful persons in the Five Realms. All that she needed to do now was to make sure that she would enter into his good books and sit on the very top till the end of their life tribulations.

"You have almost recovered. It's just your internal energy is still low. You should rest for a couple of days more and take medicinal food. You will be perfectly healthy in a few more days." She told the man with a soft smile and watched him give a small nod before he turned his attention to look outside the window on his side of the carriage.

Even though he was facing away from her, Xiang Ling noticed how the tip of his ear had turned pink. Realizing that the man was embarrassed, she was surprised. What did she do to make him feel like that? She was unable to find the answer to this question.

Once their carriage left the city gate, they were on the dirt road through the wilderness before entering a dense forest. Shengdu Village was located quite far from Dongzhi City and they wouldn't arrive there before the end of the day.

Feeling hungry, Xiang Ling opened the wooden crate and took out the food that Fu Xiao had packed for them. There was a plate full of dumplings, a bowl of noodles, a bowl of chicken soup, and so on.

Xiang Ling picked up a clean plate and filled it with some food before calling out to Fu Xiao who was sitting in front of the carriage with the coachman. She handed the food to the girl before turning her attention toward the man who was silently observing her. As soon as their eyes locked, he quickly looked away, pretending to look at the scenery outside the window.

A smile made its way to Xiang Ling's lips at Wei Guang's innocence. From what she knew, an immortal going through his/her life tribulation still had their original personality despite being born as a mortal with no memory of their true identity. The Night Immortal was not only one of the most powerful deities in existence but he was also one of the most popular men in the Five Realms.

The rumors said that he was a loner who barely made any public appearances. Let alone the people of the five realms - Heaven Realm, Mortal Realm, Demon Realm, Celestial Realm, and Northern Sea Realm, even the people of the Celestial Palace didn't get to see him. He was one of the most handsome immortals, and the most powerful Celestial King to ever exist in history. He was known for his calm and kind nature throughout the Five Realms.

Xiang Ling had always wanted to meet him at least once. Little did she know that their meeting would happen in such a situation. Fate really knew how to play its games.

"You must be hungry. Here, have some warm food." She took out the bowl of chicken soup and handed it to a very surprised Wei Guang. The Xiang Ling from the past never shared her food with anyone. She was ready to starve everyone to death if it meant she could eat the good food. But here, she was giving him the chicken soup while keeping the noodles for herself. No matter how hard he tried, Wei Guang couldn't think of why she would go to these extremes just to put on a show.

Could someone even change this much even if it was just for an act? He found himself wondering.

Seeing him silent, Xiang Ling quickly asked, "What's wrong?"

Wei Guang quickly shook his head before he tasted the soup to get himself busy. But as soon as he drank the soup, he couldn't help but feel disappointed. He was too lost in his thoughts that he forgot someone was closely observing him and noticed the look of disappointment on his face.

"What happened? Is something wrong with the soup?" Xiang Ling asked quickly, worried that the man would hold her accountable in the future for feeding him bad food. The thought sent cold shivers running down her spine. Having the legendary Celestial King as their husband might be a dream for the other women but Xiang Ling could only compare her situation to a nightmare. One little mistake and she could possibly lose everything, including her life.

"It tastes different from the food we ate yesterday at noon." Wei Guang said as he stared at the soup with a weird look in his eyes. He wasn't one to let his emotions out so openly but something about the woman beside him was making him put his guard down without him realizing it.

As his words registered in Xiang Ling's brain, she was unable to hold back the chuckle that escaped her lips, successfully pulling Wei Guang's attention toward her. "Of course, the taste is different. This breakfast is made by Fu Xiao and I am the one who cooked the lunch yesterday. What? Have you suddenly fallen in love with my cooking?" She teased him and once again noticed how quickly his ears turned bright pink.

"I... you are overthinking." He quickly forced out the words before drinking the soup and finishing it within seconds.

Xiang Ling couldn't help but find the man cute as he once again turned his attention to look outside the window, pretending to not see her at all. Holding herself back from laughing anymore, she too decided to finish her meal.

It seemed like she had finally found a way to win him over. If he liked her cooking, she would cook delicious food for him every day until she became his ultimate favorite cook in the whole of Five Realms.
