14 Chapter 14 - Shield Breaking 101

Mathis watched as the creature that was much bigger than a Mitachurl appeared in front of him. 'A Stonehide Lawachurl is probably going to be the strongest thing I've ever fought. I'll be sent flying if it hits me at all, and after what happened with the axe Mitachurl I've got to be more careful.' Just as he thought this the Lawachurl in front of him let out another massive roar so loud that he had to cover his ears. However this time as it roared a yellow energy began coursing through it which made it much more dangerous than before.

As Mathis looked at this happen a trident quickly formed in his hand and three balls of water appeared around him which formed into sharks. As soon as they were formed the sharks charged at the Lawachurl with gaping mouths ready to chomp down into it, as soon as they reached it they bit down into it's skin, but unlike the Blazing axe Mitachurl who's arm was bit off easily this time their bites barely dug into it's skin. As the sharks attacked it Mathis wasn't being idle he had moved around to the side, and thrust his trident at it's leg.

As he stabbed it he felt as if he was cutting into an extremely hard rock with his trident barely penetrating it's skin Mathis was surprised as it was more than he expected. 'I knew it was going to be hard but not this hard, but if it's the same as the games if I attack it enough it's shield will wear off.' As Mathis was attempting to pull out his trident the Lawachurl began raising one of it's hands. Seeing this Mathis without hesitation left behind his trident and moved away as quickly he could.

The Lawachurl with a swing of it's hands took a wide swing slamming through all of his sharks and destroying them with ease. Mathis quickly summoned the three sharks once again 'Getting close is too risky so I'll have to attack it from afar using my sharks and trident.' Although constantly throwing his trident was much weaker than using it up close the Lawachurls swings were fast and strong getting hit by it would probably put him out of commission. So he decided to wear it down from afar so he could finish it off once it's shield was broken.

The Lawachurl quickly destroyed the sharks once again and looked at Mathis who was throwing tridents at it and in the process of creating more sharks. It bent its knees and jumped up high towards Mathis who looked up at it horror as it was falling down and was scrambling out of the way as quickly as he could. The moment it landed a large shockwave erupted and even thought he didn't directly get hit by the impact of it jumping on him. Mathis was flown away by the massive shockwave created.

He quickly got up and looked at the Lawachurl preparing to jump again. Seeing this Mathis once again moved out of the way as quickly as he could, but this time he turned around as it was landing and braced himself for the shockwave, and it proved to be effective since this time he wasn't completely sent flying. 'If I get too far it's just going to keep jumping at me, I've got to get closer, but not close enough where is can easily smack me away.' As he was thinking this Mathis began to approach the Mitachurl while creating more sharks and throwing tridents to wear down it's shield.

The Lawachurl kept easily smacking the sharks away however more and more kept coming. Before they were just annoying like a fly, but what it realized after some time were that the sharks kept biting the same three locations over and over again and it began to feel painful whenever the sharks bit it. All of a sudden it put one hand on the ground and leaned forward, and as It was preparing to charge at Mathis it paused as noticed the moment the sharks hit him again the yellow glow around him began to disappear. It roared in anger as it looked at Mathis who had a smile on his face, and was panting heavily.

As Mathis was beginning to create more of the sharks after he saw the Lawachurls shield ran out. 'Finally It's almost over I can finish this already.' While Mathis was preparing to finish off the Lawachurl he noticed it once again put one fist onto the ground and bend over. He cursed as he tried to move away from it as quickly as he could. However due to constantly creating sharks Mathis barely had any energy left, and was heavily panting due to that his movements were sluggish compared to before. It wasn't just that as he looked at the speed of the Lawachurls charge he saw that was extremely fast. Knowing that there was no way he could avoid it Mathis braced himself with both his arms in front of him.

As the it collided with him Mathis was sent flying much farther than he was before. He lay on the ground as he felt the bones in his arms were crushed and a large pain in his chest that he guessed to be broken ribs. Mathis felt his consciousness fading and before he could fall unconscious he used all the energy had left and created a 6 ft long shark that quickly charged at the Lawachurl. 'Without your shield let's see if you can handle getting your head chomped off.' With that thought he lay on the ground while he watched the shark he created end the the Stonehide

Lawachurl with a massive bite. Seeing that it was finally over his eyes began to slowly close as he blacked out.

While Mathis was on the ground unconscious his body began to glow like last time when he defeated the Mitachurl. His injuries were healed and his fatigue disappeared. Soon after the glowing ended he began to open his eyes, but this time he wasn't on the platform or in a room he was laying down on a large body of water. As he got up he was confused 'How I am standing on water? Is this even water?' As he thought this he reached to the water below him and attempted to put his hand into it, but before he could it touched something. It felt like solid ground, but he couldn't see it.

Mathis decided to ignore it as he looked up and saw the water creature standing in front of him. He didn't have to wait long before he heard it's soothing voice in his head again. 'I've taught you some things about the power of water, and after completing these tests it seems you're done here.

That doesn't mean there is not more to learn you still have a long way to go, but you must improve and learn more on your own.' As he listened to what the water creature had to say Mathis nodded his head.

After it finished speaking it began to walk towards him and as soon as it stood in front of him it reached out and grabbed his right hand. Mathis soon felt a burning sensation in the palm of his hand and instinctively pulled his hand back. Once he looked down he saw the hydro symbol in the palm of his hand. Just as he was about to ask why a door formed behind him, turning around he saw that it was the same one he used to get here. However this time without him touching it and with no warning he was sucked into the blue light inside of it.
