Chapter 6

"You're a dragon now, well part dragon I should say" Rhea said.

'No. That's not possible. How can I be a dragon?'

"No. This is a dream. It's a nightmare," I said, backing away from her. "This isn't real."

The woman shook her head. "It's real. The master has blessed you with his power, oh how envious".

I backed away from her, stumbling into the wall. I pressed my back against the cold stone, trying to steady myself.

"Why? Why me?"

The woman shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe he saw something in you. Or maybe it was just random. Either way, you've been chosen."

I shook my head. "I don't want it. Take it back."

The woman smiled. "It doesn't work that way. The master's power is a gift. You can't return it."

I slumped to the floor, putting my head in my hands.

'I was just a normal human girl a minute ago, and now, I'm a dragon?'

The woman stepped forward and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Come on. It's not so bad. You'll get used to it."

I looked up at her, tears streaming down my face. "I don't want to get used to it. I want it to go away. Please."

The woman shook her head. "It's not going to go away. It's a part of you now."

I closed my eyes, trying to block out the world.

"What am I supposed to do now?" I whispered.

The woman's grip on my shoulder tightened. "Now, we're going to show you to the master. He'll know what to do with you."

'So, this is really happening. I've become a dragon. What kind of life is this going to be?'

"Come on. Get up," the woman said, yanking me to my feet,

'I didn't notice before, but this woman has more strength than normal people are they monsters too?'.

She grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the opening in the wall.

"We don't have time for your self-pity," she snapped.

The Jorn and the rat-faced man fell into step behind us.

"Don't worry. The master will take care of you," the Jorn said, giving me a leering grin.

I didn't answer. I didn't have the strength. I just let the woman pull me along, trying to make sense of what had just happened to me.

The tunnel widened again, and the light grew brighter as we approached the entrance to the cavern. When suddenly I could hear voices echoing off the stone walls, and the smell of smoke and meat filled the air.

I turn around and saw a magical portal and people appearing into it.

We stepped out into the cavern, and I got my first look at the city of Under City. It was a strange place, a mixture of medieval architecture and modern technology. Buildings made of stone and wood stood next to ones made of metal and glass. 'Why did they build such a city underground?
