Ch.31 Start of a Spar

I walk through the city as I carry Ruby on my back, didn't think she would get so exhausted after suppressing her mana for some time. 

Well with her mana-controlling ability, I guess it was excepted.. I should have thought of that sooner. Well, nothing one can do about spilled milk.

"Hmm.."

Felling some movement on my back I stop on my track, It seems she has woken up.. Searching for the nearest bench I make my way there.

"You awake?"

I ask as I turn my head to look at her sleepy face, she is currently rubbing her eyes trying to wake up.

"Yes."

She replied in a small voice as she leaned her head on my shoulder again,.. this girl... how lazy can she get.

"You should have told me you were tired."

I say to her as I put her down on the bench and sit next to her, she stretches her body a little as she again makes herself comfortable by leaning on me.

"You should wash your face."

I say as I hand her a bottle of cold water, this should help her wake up.

"You wash it."

She said in a spoiled tone as she presented her sleepy face to me,.. I guess she is acting like this due to not being completely awake. Well not that surprising as she has already done it a couple of times.

I guess it can be said to be a quirk of hers.

"Ok, Ok my princess."

I say.. well I could have refused but I feel like that would cause trouble for me for some reason.

Putting water on my hands I start to wash her face, she closes her eyes and puts her face forward to make it easier for me to wash it.

After that, I put the bottle back into my storage and I took out a small towel as I removed water from her face.

"Hmm~, what time it is?"

She asked me in a satisfied tone as she leaned her body on me again, not minding that I replied.

"Beginning of the afternoon."

"I see, then I slept for quite some time."

She muttered to herself as she looked in front of us, seeing the crowd on the street she looked back at me.

"So, let's go eat some ice cream. After all, I haven't forgotten what you owe me."

As if getting all the energy she needed she jumped off the bench and stood in front of me, taking my hands she pulled me thus I had no choice but to stand up.

"Ok, OK.. there is no need to rush. I haven't forgotten my promise."

"Hmm."

She nodded her head as she stopped pulling me, pointing at the ice cream store in the distance she motioned me to start moving.

"Let goooooo"

She shouted as she started to walk toward the ice cream store, giving a sigh I followed her. If not for the stealth spell this could have caused quite a commotion, although a small one.

"Hey, Ruby you still haven't told me the reason you didn't say you were tired."

I asked her that question as I walked next to her, hearing my question she turned her head toward me, and with a big smile on her face she said.

"Because it was fun playing with you."

Hearing her reply I am stunned for a moment as I stop my step, hearing her giggling away in the front I snap back as I realize her childishness again.

It seems I have been treating her more maturely than she truly is.. well what can you expect after all both of us are of the same age so it's no wonder I would compare her to me.

I wonder how much more childish she would have been if not for all the responsibility and burden she has to carry.

"I guess it was quite fun to play there."

I say as I walk toward her, reaching her I turn my head as I look at her smiling face, she must have found my reaction quite amusing.

"Yes, isn't it."

She exclaimed with joy again as she jumped on my body again, holding her so that she and I didn't fall I sighed.

She seemed to have picked up a bad habit of tackling others. I should probably warn her not to do such behavior. Although... Haha.. yes.. that could work.

With an "evil" plan that suddenly came to my mind, I didn't say anything as I followed her to the shop.

"Your moves have gotten more precise."

Vayu said to Neo as he dodged an attack from Neo, looking at the improvement shown by Neo he couldn't help but praise him.

"Thanks..."

Before Neo could even give his gratitude a kick came from Vayu's side landing on his stomach, due to the force of the kick Neo was pushed back as.

"Although your defense still has many openings."

Vayu continued as he appeared in front of the vomiting Neo, pointing his sword at Neo's head Vayu released a little bit of killing intent to gauze Neo's reaction.

Neo didn't show any reaction to the killing intent as if not pressured by it, hitting his chest he got back his breath as he stopped vomiting.

"I guess it's my loss."

Neo said as he looked at the pointed sword in front of him, wiping the vomit from his face using the towel Neo stood up.

"Well, I guess this is enough for today."

Vayu muttered as he put his sword back in its hilt.

"Is the training over."

The somewhat cold voice of Alicia was heard as she walked toward them, Ruby was next to her and both of them wearing battle-ready clothes.

"Oh, yes didn't you two promise to spar today."

Vayu said as he remembered their promise, they had made it yesterday before Neo and Ruby left on their field day.

"Oh, good luck to both of you."

Neo said as he gave both of them a thumbs-up before making his way toward the resting bench, he seemed to have miscalculated the amount of power he put in that blow. So due to that, his chest is hurting currently.

<Pain Restrain> <Heal >

Putting some spell on himself Neo sat on the bench as he took out a bottle of 1 star elixir. This should help him recover his stamina.

"Are you alright?"

Vayu asked as he stood next to Neo, there was some concern on his face as he looked at Neo.

"Yes, some minor pain."

Neo replied as he chugged the bottle of elixir in a single gulp.

"If you say so."

Vayu just shrugged his shoulder, though he was worried. Even if Neo got greatly injured he could simply be healed by Alice. After all, she spent half a century learning healing magic, for this reason, to heal her family if ever the condition arises.

"Aren't you going to referee the spar?"

Neo questioned as he looked at both the girls sitting on the opposite side of the ground as they got ready for battle.

"There is no need for that."

Vayu simply said as he turned his head to look at the two fighters.

"After all they will know when to stop."

Some general knowledge to know about the world.

-A year has twelve months and each month has thirty days and a day is 30 hours long.

In other words, a mana-less child will be as mature as their counterpart in our world whereas a child with mana can range in both physical and mental maturity by two to ten years older than their counterpart.

-The Month of Fortune (Those born in this month can be said to have great fortune. Note- Alicia Goldenheart was born in this month.)

-The Month of Light (This is the time when mostly the holy pilgrimage starts. The 30th of this month is considered the most blessed time. Nexus Lionheart was born in this month. This is also the month when demons get weaker.)

-The Month of Gods (The end of this month is when most pilgrimages end. The end of this month also signifies the end of autumn. Vayu was born in this month.)

-The Month of Titans (The time when summer begins. Atlas Solious was born in this month.)

-The Month of Spirits (The time when summer ends.)

- The Month of Dragons (The time when spring begins and also the time when the sword championship of the World Academy happens.)

-The Month of Fertility (The peak of the springtime and also the time when almost all the crops and fruits ripen. Agni was born in this month.)

-The Month of Life (The last stretch of the spring before the winter begins. Ruri Lionheart and Ruby Lionheart both were born in this month.)

-The Month of Darkness (The beginning of winter and also the most dangerous time as the demos get stronger than ever in this month.)

-The Month of Demons (It is called such because it is the time when new demons are created or birthed due to the release of the mana from Hell.)

-The Month of End. (The month when winter ends and also the month of rainfall as it rains the entire month. This is the month when Neo Lionheart was born.)
