The bell signaling the official start of the expedition rang out, and Arthur and Algo walked together towards the gathering place.

Outside the boss room in the labyrinth area, everyone had donned their equipment and eagerly awaited the commands from Diavel, who was serving as the commander.

Arthur glanced around again, but still didn't spot Kirito. However, he noticed another player in a cloak, similar to Asuna's.

"Is everyone here?" Diavel stood in front of the boss room's entrance, preparing for one last rallying cry.

"Yes, we're all here," everyone nodded in unison. It had to be admitted that after Arthur vouched for Diavel's competence as the expedition's commander, the players had gained much more confidence in him, partly due to his charisma.

"Then, before we begin the expedition, let me say once more: fight to survive, everyone!" Diavel's voice rang out.

"Alright!"

"Let's go!" With a final sweep of his gaze over everyone, Diavel nodded at Arthur before turning and opening the heavy-looking door with unexpected ease.

"Let's do this, everyone!" With the door open, Diavel charged into the boss room, shouting loudly.

The others followed his lead and rushed into the room.

As soon as they stepped inside, the previously pitch-black boss room lit up instantly. At the far end of the room was a towering throne, upon which sat a massive dog-headed figure.

It was none other than the guardian boss of the first floor staircase, Kobold Lord Eilfang!

As the players entered the room, the Kobold Lord stirred. Gripping its weapon and shield, it leaped down from the throne, accompanied by its guard, the Kobold Guards, who charged forward.

"As planned, hold off the Kobold Guards! Sir Arthur, you're on the boss!" Diavel ordered calmly. Under his command, the players rushed forward to engage the guards, while the Lord Eilfang roared and charged.

"No problem," Arthur nodded, drawing the White Rose Star from his waist. As he charged forward, he said to Argo, who had also readied her weapon, "Watch yourself. If things get dicey, get out of there immediately. I can handle it!"

Argo didn't argue. This wasn't the time for banter. But seeing that the Eilfang showed no signs of changing tactics, she unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

Arthur moved swiftly, even faster than the Lord Eilfang. As the others engaged the Guards, Arthur made a beeline for the Lord Eilfang and dealt a significant amount of damage with a quick thrust.
