Hey everyone, Thanks for checking out this translated novel! Just a heads up, I’ve done a lot of editing on this version. I’ve removed some toxic stuff and made the story more positive overall. I’ve also made some big changes to the story itself. So, if you’re familiar with the original, don’t expect this to be exactly the same. There will be new twists, different character developments, and maybe even a different ending. My aim is to make the story better and more enjoyable for a wider audience. So, while you might recognize the basic plot, expect some surprises along the way. I hope you enjoy this revamped version as much as I enjoyed working on it! Thanks for your support and happy reading! Original Novel:刀剑神域之老子是挂逼

Chapter 18 Lord Eilfang

Hey everyone, I'm back with an exciting new chapter! Something big is coming (and it's probably not what you're thinking 😏). Please support this novel with power stones and help us climb to the number one spot in the power rankings!

....

The bell signaling the official start of the expedition rang out, and Arthur and Algo walked together towards the gathering place.

Outside the boss room in the labyrinth area, everyone had donned their equipment and eagerly awaited the commands from Diavel, who was serving as the commander.

Arthur glanced around again, but still didn't spot Kirito. However, he noticed another player in a cloak, similar to Asuna's.

"Looks like I won't be seeing him for now," Arthur shrugged.

"What are you looking at, buddy?" Algo noticed Arthur scanning around and asked curiously.

"Nothing," Arthur shook his head.

"Is everyone here?" Diavel stood in front of the boss room's entrance, preparing for one last rallying cry.

"Yes, we're all here," everyone nodded in unison. It had to be admitted that after Arthur vouched for Diavel's competence as the expedition's commander, the players had gained much more confidence in him, partly due to his charisma.

"Then, before we begin the expedition, let me say once more: fight to survive, everyone!" Diavel's voice rang out.

"Alright!"

"Let's go!" With a final sweep of his gaze over everyone, Diavel nodded at Arthur before turning and opening the heavy-looking door with unexpected ease.

"Let's do this, everyone!" With the door open, Diavel charged into the boss room, shouting loudly.

The others followed his lead and rushed into the room.

As soon as they stepped inside, the previously pitch-black boss room lit up instantly. At the far end of the room was a towering throne, upon which sat a massive dog-headed figure.

It was none other than the guardian boss of the first floor staircase, Kobold Lord Eilfang!

As the players entered the room, the Kobold Lord stirred. Gripping its weapon and shield, it leaped down from the throne, accompanied by its guard, the Kobold Guards, who charged forward.

"As planned, hold off the Kobold Guards! Sir Arthur, you're on the boss!" Diavel ordered calmly. Under his command, the players rushed forward to engage the guards, while the Lord Eilfang roared and charged.

"No problem," Arthur nodded, drawing the White Rose Star from his waist. As he charged forward, he said to Argo, who had also readied her weapon, "Watch yourself. If things get dicey, get out of there immediately. I can handle it!"

Argo didn't argue. This wasn't the time for banter. But seeing that the Eilfang showed no signs of changing tactics, she unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

Arthur moved swiftly, even faster than the Lord Eilfang. As the others engaged the Guards, Arthur made a beeline for the Lord Eilfang and dealt a significant amount of damage with a quick thrust.

Before the Lord Eilfang could retaliate, Arthur had already caught its attention.

Raising its bone axe high, the Lord Eilfang swung it down with alarming speed. For most players, there would be no choice but to withstand the blow head-on. However, Arthur simply sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the attack. Then, with his White Rose Star, he launched three rapid thrusts. When the Lord Eilfang realized what was happening, it stomped its foot and swung its axe horizontally.

Arthur hadn't expected the Lord Eilfang to be even faster, and he felt somewhat overwhelmed by the speed of the attack. He had no choice but to block!

Then, to Diavel's incredulous gaze, Arthur held up the delicate-looking White Rose Star in front of him and blocked the Lord Eilfang's attack head-on, without even a dent in his health bar.

Counterattack!

After withstanding the blow from the Lord Eilfang, Arthur quickly retaliated with his White Rose Star, stabbing directly at the Lord Eilfang's left eye, causing its health to plummet by half.

Seeing Arthur's solo DPS rivaling that of an elite squad, Diavel's eyes were filled with disbelief. Such a disparity in power was unimaginable in the early stages. If this terrifying output were to appear in the later stages of the game, Diavel wouldn't be surprised, but now, at the beginning of the expedition to defeat the first-floor boss, it was astounding that Arthur already possessed such formidable strength, leaving everyone astonished.

That sword! Diavel looked at the White Rose Star in Arthur's hand, biting his lip tightly.

Diavel was right to think so. While most of Arthur's strength came from sword techniques, over the past month, Arthur's vampiric White Rose Star had reached Level 5. Frequent use of the vampiric White Rose Star had also elevated its DPS to a level that no other player could match. It could be said that Arthur alone was an army!

Advanced Sword Skill: Single-Handed Sword Mastery!

Arthur assumed the stance of the sparking Advanced Sword Skill, Flame Blossom, his eyes as sharp as a hawk's, fixed firmly on the Dogheaded Lord in front of him.

Arthur.

Flame Blossom!

In an instant, Arthur transformed into a blur, darting towards the Lord Eilfang, who seemed to sense something and hastily raised his shield.

Horizontal slash!

Thrust!

Diagonal slash!

Vertical slash!

...

The thirteen consecutive sword strikes seemed to form a blooming flame blossom. Finally, after Arthur's powerful spinning slash, this flurry of attacks left all the players present wide-eyed. It was too fast, so fast that no one could even count how many strikes Arthur had executed!

"Did you, did you see that clearly? How many strikes did he make?" one player muttered, dumbfounded.

"N-no, I didn't. Can players do that now?!" another player said bitterly.

"Hey, snap out of it." Just then, a cloaked player swooped in, knocking back the Kobold Guards who were about to strike the two players!

"Ah, sorry!"

After executing Flame Blossom, Arthur felt extremely exhausted, but the Lord before him seemed even more worse for wear.

Even though it had brought up its shield at a crucial moment, the Flame Blossom, with its armor-piercing effect, still dealt significant damage to it. Even the shield it held in its hand had been depleted of durability and shattered!
