Dance Battle
Bae Yoonjung then told them the type of dance battle for the night.
"Firstly, you can choose 2 members to represent your team on the first Duo dance. Yeonjun, unable to hide his excitement, then screamed Yes!
He shouted loudly, which made Bae Yoonjung look at him and ask why he's screaming like that, he then answered slowly, "I'm sorry it's just like winning a lottery where you are guessing things and that happened.
I just guessed about the first battle with my team in the waiting room. We were brainstorming for a bit and your battle mode just matched the one that I suggested before, seonsaengnim."
Seeing his response, Juyeon smirked internally and then struck while it's hot, since you already guessed the battle mode, you might have prepared for it, how about you didn't participate but let others have the chance".
Yeonjun just frowned and sat back quietly. Their plans seemed to backfire because of his action. Bae Yoonjung then asked the staff to play a hype song, and she then signed to all the trainees except the battler to fill the dance floor and dance to heat up the dance floor.
The trainees are hopping on the dance floor doing many moves hoping and scrapping for that limited time frame so that they can get extra exposure even for some seconds.
When the song is finished, all the trainees are back on their seat. While the trainees are dancing, Juyeon and Xion approach the staff to tell them their song pick and return to their seat to wait.
Bae Yoonjung signaled the staff to play the song, Jun and Kai then jumped to the stage together and started to dance, they do some provocative movement towards Chan and Yeonjun but the later just ignored them, they do a mix hip hop dance and made some great moves which pumped up the audience.
Next is Chan and Ravn, both of them dance interchangeably with great moves that show that they are used to dancing together.. which makes Team Xion earn 3 of 5 points as the other 2 goes to Jun and Kai of Team Juyeon.
Bae Yoonjung then told them that the 2nd battle was Killer Moves, which they had to dance while showing the killing point of the dance itself, and also as the name suggested, the dance should kill all the opponent's intention to continue the dance.
Everyone then discussed in their team. Xion just made his team remember the previous routine and cheered together.
Once again, Team Juyeon started the dance. They move and show good integration of moves connected by waves and show a good killing point each time.
The song was cut short as they only have 1 minute to perform.
After that Tempest's Cherry Bomb was played in the bridge part and Xion's team take the position. Wooseok moves gracefully and join the formation, they then continue with moving sideways toward the center while pointing their fist to random direction, as they hit the center point, they then do the leg stretching and Xion dropped to the floor while doing some upwards body spin to pull him back and added with a backflip finished with freeze which landed on his left heels on a balanced position while pointing at the other team.
All the audience cheered loudly as they didn't anticipate something so dramatic like that at all..
Rain, Bae Yoonjung and the dance assistant are seen standing on their feet watching the battle, everyone is screaming whoooaaaaa…
Seeing the unfavored situation, Juyeon then took the center as he moved and did some double backflip and taunted Xion. Xion didn't give him more of a chance as he ran and did an air backflip, landing with his chest and standing straight instantly with a smug face facing the camera.
Juyeon was left speechless as the crowd cheers blown up again that night. Juyeon then raises his hand and lifts up Xion afterward.
No one was expecting something like that to happen but that night, Xion got the respect from the dancers in their heart.
Bae Yoonjung and Rain were shocked when they saw how Xion landed on his chest, they asked Xion about his condition and Xion assured them that he's okay, he just told the editing staff to put a warning into the moves as it is dangerous if they decided to put it in..
Rain then asked how they made the choreo with such dynamic, Ravn just told them that when they were waiting, they talked about doing a cover dance, and then Xion just cut the song here and there, and then we just practiced it for 3-4 times only before they performed it.
The cameraman also confirmed it. Everyone was shocked and looked at the 5 in a new light. Since it's already close to midnight, Rain then dismisses them all to their dorms to rest. The editor then interviewed some of the trainees about the dance battle and finished the day.
In the morning, All the trainees are training together, some of the trainees with keen eyes notice a real change from Xion, for two days training, he has difficulties with group dance, but today he did it perfectly like yesterday.
His dance moves are totally different from yesterday, with every details to the tee. Last night, when all the trainees went to sleep, Xion activated Mirage as he slept too and used it to train his dance. As previously, Xion didn't use it to know the feeling of how to train without the help from the system at all.
Noct then told him that he could generate clones as a dance partner. He was stunned and slapped his face as Noct told him that Mirage has so many functions but he only uses a little bit of it's uniqueness till now.
Xion then summoned 50 clones and used them to practice for the dance moves, when he felt that he had mastered the dance, curiosity creeping up on him.
He then tried to change the dance break that was supposed to be for 2 people into 5 people, the original 30 second dance break then changed into more dynamic and aesthetic as more simple yet sharp moves being added and in the end it was changed completely but still gives a strong aesthetic and balance to overall performance.
At lunch time, Xion called Yeonjun and Wooseok to come with him, on the way to the cafeteria, they met with Chan and Ravn. Yeonjun then asked them to have lunch together.
Chan and Ravn then agreed and they all had a merry chat while having lunch. When they were about to finish their lunch, Xion invited them to join him and Wooseok dance practice, both of them then agreed as Yeonjun also joined them. It was free time before the daily evaluation at 6PM.
When they are in the training room, they then practice the dance until 2.30 PM. Xion then takes a break in the room while Wooseok and Chan go to the cafetaria to take some water and snacks.
While resting, Xion thought back about his choreo that he created and decided to try it out. He then played the dance break part and danced to it repeatedly.
Yeonjun and Chan who are in the room with him just resting while watching him dance, they find that the dance compliments the song but it is totally different from the original dance.
Chan then praised him,``The moves look simple but they really match the beat nicely. It was good, can you teach me Xion-ah? Xion replied, "cmon, you too Yeonjun-ah, lets have some fun.
Yeonjun then joined them and they learned the dance moves together. Ravn and Wooseok then came and found that they were playing around while trying some new moves.
Yeonjun then asked them to join and they tried the dance, it started with Xion's complicated footwork, then switched to Yeonjun that jumped and beating the floor and stand fixing his hair and Chan and Ravn moved intertwined with certain facial expression that is like seeing their mirrored self and then Wooseok came with subtle hip movement continued with the same group footwork as the big group came in.
The scene was so cool that the editor clapped his hand first and the cameraman followed suit. They practiced the moves several times again and took a rest for the remaining time since it was 5.20PM
At 6:00 PM, Bae Yoonjung and Rain came and the group then resumed their group formation dance.
They tried the dance formation two times while Rain and Bae Yoonjung tried to check the entire routine's mistakes. When the mentors were discussing things, one of the editors came and talked to them.
He explained about the dance that Xion and the group did. He then showed them the clip that afternoon, Rain and Bae Yoonjung were intrigued as they examined the moves.
Later, Bae Yoonjung called Xion and the group and asked them to perform the dance break part, she then asked them to use it in the dance break as they wanted to see if it fits with the overall performance.
Xion and the rest were surprised but they just did it without asking anything. The Dance then played again with the full group, when the dance break came, all five of them performed the piece which baffled the other trainees.
The dance became epic as the last footwork from Wooseok came into the domino effect. The mentors then discussed and agreed to incorporate the dance break.
Rain then announced to the trainees that they had changed the dance break from Xion and Wooseok into the 5 trainees as a gift for their victory yesterday. The other trainees then nodded and didn't complain about anything as you know, "Winner takes it all". The 5 trainees just jumped around happily as they just did something amazing.
