Chapter 3: Hunt

The blizzard is expected to last more than a week. A week has passed, and the blizzard will be over in four days.

Outside, the wind was still breathing, and he looked at the burning fire. Suddenly, Amory opens the window and looks out.

Someone had just passed by, and he guess they were the Valois family sent to see if he and Gemma's family were dead or not. He is thinking about them. Undoubtedly, they'll find out he is alive, what will they do then? Of course, they will kill him, and he couldn't let that happen. He has to kill them first.

Carefully, Amory took the gun out of the house. And follow where the sound comes from. Quickly, he reached the main road leading to the Inna mansion, and he saw 6 people walking toward the mansion. Now that the blizzard is still very big, they can't contact anyone outside. This is the best time to kill them.

Amory reloads and fires the first shot. One guy dies, and the rest are panicking.

"Be careful, someone is still alive."

"Get out of the way, the enemy has a gun."

Doubtlessly, they didn't carry guns. Amory continues to shoot, and the second man fell.

"It's a dog-in-law of the Valois family."

'How dare he resist?'

"You bastard Amory, what the fuck are you doing?"

Amory recognized them as the people working in the Inna mansion. Amory remembered the words they had used to humiliate him, and he decided not to spare any of them.

"Precisely, I realized that even if I worked for the Valois family for a long time and was loyal to them as good servants, they would make me die for their sake. Cruelly, the Valois family doesn't care that there's a blizzard and still sends the servants to find me. And if I don't kill the foolishly loyal servants of the Valois today, the one buried in the snow will be me."

After he killed 6 people. He hid their bodies deep under the snow, and after he finished he felt extremely tired. The people he just killed were very heavy, and burying them was really exhausting. If he didn't have to bury these corpses, he would leave them to feed the wild animals.

Finally, Amory went back to his house and thought. He was afraid the Valois clan wanted to kill him quickly because Eirlys would leave the research facility early, and they wanted her to marry someone they loved, not him. After all, in their eyes, he is a stupid, lowly son-in-law.

"Damn. I spent 6 years getting their approval, they agreed to let me marry her. And now they want to kill me just because they want her to marry someone else." Angrily, he is shouting: "I won't give you your satisfaction, you bastard. I've had enough."

He needs back to his house. But that's hard, this place is more than 2000 km from Valois's manor. Beside, the four nearest airports are all built and managed by the Valois family. In summary, if he went there they would kill him instantly. His only option was to travel from here to a government-built airport and from there back to his home.

Amory needs to get out of here now and get to the airport before the blizzard ends. Amory put on more clothes and went back to the car of the people he had just killed. He started the car and headed towards town. It took him six hours to get to town. Amory went to Robert's house, it was already dinner time, and they sat down to have dinner together.

"You want to go to the airport? In this weather, it's hard to find a driver."

"I've got a lot of money, and I need to get to the airport before those fuckers come and kill me."

"I know someone who can take you there and accompany you. He's a famous thug in this area."

"Money is not an issue for me, but the Valois family is the fear of many people."

"You're lucky, the Valois family broke Grew's family, they put him in jail for 6 years."

Politely, Amory said, "So sorry about that, too bad I can't do anything more. I'm just a son-in-law they look down on. If I can help him with something I think I talk with my wife and she will help Grew to handle it..."

"But first you have to live. If they catch both Grewn and you die. Amory, they won't insult you like last time, this time they'll kill you for despising them."

"I know it, we need to hit the road tonight."

Robert picks up the phone and called Grewn. Fifteen minutes later, Grewn come to Robert's house. When he sees Amory he politely said, "It's sad for you, but I think we'll get it sorted out soon."

"Thanks for that. I think we'll have a dangerous escape from their pursuit. We need to get to the airport by tomorrow night or they'll find us and kill us."

Amory and Grewn go to Amory's car and then start the journey towards Anselm airport.

After four hours on the road, their journey seemed to be extremely smooth, but when they reached the Anselm intersection suddenly from behind their car were six trucks and three extremely suspicious black cars chasing them.

Amory is looking through the license plates. Finally, he discovered that all the license plates of those cars were fake. He thinks the Valois family finds out he doesn't die, if they caught up with him, then today would be his death day. Of course, Amory disagrees with that, he needs to survive and avenge everything they have done to him.

Notably, Amory was about to tell Grewn what he had just discovered. Suddenly a large truck appeared from the front of their car, that car had crashed into their car before Amory knew it. Obviously, the force of the other truck was too strong, it made their car throw high. Finally, their car spun several times in the air before it hurled towards the left side of the road.

Coincidentally on the left side of the road was a steep area next to the river, their car rolled along the slope before stopping 15m from the riverbank.

Eight people got down from the car that had just caused the accident. The cars following Amory also stopped, from the car, there were six men coming down, all of them wearing black suits. The two groups of people walked over to Amory's car and laughed.

"That fool is going to die today."

"A stupid son-in-law." The man at the head of the group wearing a black suit in the suit said: "Get him out of the car and kill him."

"Why don't you just throw that idiot in the river and let him freeze to death? I think if he died in an accident your boss would be more pleased."

"It is an interesting way to kill someone. Definitely, get him out of the car then throw him in the river, you have to make sure he dies. I don't want that greedy son-in-law alive."

A man in a green shirt walks up to Amory's car, and a guy in black drags Grewn out. Then three more guys smashed the car door with the guy in the blue shirt and dragged Amory in front of the leader of the group.

Amusedly, he laughs: "To put it simply, if you're a wise man, you should die at the Inna mansion. But you are a stupid and greedy son-in-law. Master told me to pass the word on to you: the Valois family doesn't like greedy and stupid sons-in-law. Exactly you need to move to hell now."

Suddenly, behind the sound of a middle-aged man: "You guys work too slowly."

Reverently, the man at the head of the group that caused Amory's accident stepped back to the right and bowed to the middle-aged man. Finally, he said: "Master, it's because he's too clever."

"Darius, let my stupid son-in-law talk to me one last time."

"Yes sir." Darius takes a bottle of water and pours it on Amory's face.

Immediately Amory regained consciousness. Apparently, he doesn't happy when he sees who is standing ahead of him. Amory is looking at Eirlys's father, he's so cruel, he always wants Amory to die. It appears that Eirlys's father hates him very much. Consequently, he is willing to give up his precious working time to come here to kill Amory. Maybe Amory needs to thank Eirlys's father for that.

"Amory, my stupid and greedy son-in-law. I guess you're doing well, but the sad news is that you're going to die today. Politely, I inform you the Valois family has found for me a more deserving son-in-law than you, and I love this newly chosen son-in-law. The sad news is that the whole Valois family couldn't come here and watch you die in a tragic car accident. But we're sure, we'll give you a grand funeral."

"I don't need those things, I've been trying for the past six years, why have you never acknowledged me?"

"In this case, I'll be happy to explain to you the reason: it's that you're useless. Look, a valet at Valois's is paid $7,000, but you've been trying for six years now, and the salary yours is ten thousand dollars, just enough to pay a longtime servant in the Valois family. Why should I let a terrible servant marry my daughter?"

To put it simply, all his efforts over the past six years were not enough for the Valois family. They still despised him, and the thing he feared most had come. Amory is accustomed to their contempt. In six years he is always accustomed to the hell they give him then they think he just deserves it. But this time they were exposed to their covet.

"I'm grateful to you for letting me marry her. But I'm sick of my life with you and the Valois. In hell, I'll pray for you to be happy."

Elmer is doubtful of his life when he sees Amory. When he was young he was nervous about his life and his wife. They come from powerful families. Apparently, all people who come from powerful families are not allowed to make their own decisions about their lives. In the first place, the fate of a poor son-in-law has been predetermined since he entered a powerful family. He will have to kill himself or the rest of the clan will kill him. Consequently, he chose to kill his son-in-law. Elmer always hates and despises his son-in-law but he doesn't want to kill anyone. He just does what he needs to do. And do the last thing he can to make Amory die a decent death. Alternatively, he wants Amory to be allowed to die as Eirlys's husband. Not a psychopath forced to divorce his wife and then die of old age in a mental institution. He wanted Amory to die gently and decisively. So being the bad guy alone is enough, Amory and his daughter don't need to know this. He expected them to hate him and forgive themselves.

"I think it's been long enough for you to live and endure this misery." He orders the servant to stab Amory with a knife and then throw him into the river.

Finally, Elmer had turned back to his car before he knew it. Tiredly he closes the door. Then the driver quickly drives away.

At the end of the road, Elmer looks back and said, "Kill them all."

Immediately, the servant passes the order to the driver of the large truck with gas tanks by the riverside. Then the car rushed into the people who had worked for him. Finally, it had blown up before they knew it.

Sadly Elmer said: "Finally my son-in-law died."
