1 Chapter 1: The First Ripple

February 7, 1889. Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

Johnathan Joestar sat up in his bed. He was in a spacious, dimly-lit room. He felt the gentle sway of the ship as he tried to calm his troubled mind. Despite being on his honeymoon, despite being with his beloved Erina, he couldn't rest. For the past few nights, he had horrible nightmares. Well, to be exact, it was the same nightmare every time. Every night when he slept the dream would play out like a movie; A horrible movie where he could do nothing but watch.

The dream started beautifully. Erina and him stood dancing in a large, dimly-lit hall. What little light there was came from a spotlight, shining down on Erina and himself. There was gentle music and laughter and couples dancing all around. Slowly, one by one, the couples left, until only they were left dancing in the hall. They danced and danced, and slowly, the light shining down on them turned red. It was not the red of romance or love, but a disturbing crimson the color of blood.

Suddenly, Erina and him stopped dancing. Erina put her hands to her face and started sobbing. Johnathan tried to help her, but he couldn't move.

He struggled. And the more he struggled the more Erina cried.

Jonatathan tried to cry out for her, but no sound would leave his mouth.

Finally, he regained control over his body. he ran to Erina, but the faster he ran, the further she would drift away from him, until she was completely out of sight. Flames shot up around him and he could only watch as the hall around him burned.

From the flames he could hear a delirious laughter. The type of laughter one would only hear from a madman. A laughter that he was all too familiar with.

Before he could gather his thoughts, he felt a slight tug at his neck. he looked down only to see nothing.

His body was gone.

As his decapitated head fell to the floor, he could hear the sounds of water rushing around him. he could feel the cold embrace of the ocean as he sunk in to what would undoubtedly become his watery tomb.

As all light was leaving his clouded vision, he saw a warm light in the distance. The light was reaching out to him. He only had to call out its name.

"Ra..." He tried to force his lips to move

"Ra.."

Then he woke up.

As Jonathan sat in his warm bed, he pondered on his dream.

"What could it mean...?" He said to himself.

Johnathan wasn't sure if the dream meant anything. But even after waking he felt a certain dread. As if there was a sword hanging over him, ready to drop at any time. No dream had ever been as terrifying. Or as vivid for that matter. The only thing he couldn't seem to remember was the name he called out. It was on the tip of his tongue...

"Useless..." Johnathan sighed.

He opted to not think about the strange dream any longer. He instead turned his attention to the desk in the corner of the room.

Quietly getting out of bed, making sure to not disturb Erina who was sleeping peacefully, he made his way over to the sturdy looking oak desk.

He knew he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep for quite some time, so he decided to read instead. Turning on the desk lamp, he sat down. However, as he reached into the desks drawer to pull out a book, his attention was directed to an amulet besides it.

The amulet was given to him as a wedding gift. A senior archeologist friend said that they had bought it from a street vendor in Egypt. It was an arrowhead. Made of an unknown mineral but had a similar appearance to gold or bronze. The only thing he did know about the arrowhead was that it was quite old, at least several hundred years old, in fact. Another thing Jonathan learned about the arrowhead was that it was quite sharp, as he had cut himself the other day while inspecting it.

However, despite its age, it had been modified into a piece of jewelry over time, making it worthless as an artifact. Not to mention that it couldn't be traced to any particular place, it was unknown if it had originated from Egypt, or some other far away land. Regardless, it was quite ornate and truly was a beautiful piece.

"Johnathan?" Erina called to him from bed. "Is something wrong?"

"No not at all!" Johnathan replied. "I was just doing some late night reading."

Placing the arrowhead away Johnathan turned off the desk lamp and made his way back to the bed. As he slipped into the covers, Erina spoke.

"I can tell that there's something bothering you." she said using a gentile tone.

"I'm always perfect when you are around Erina." Johnathan said sweetly.

Erina blushed.

"Ive just been having some bad dreams lately." He explained.

"Would you like to talk about them?" Erina asked. "I'm always here to talk."

"No, its okay. I already feel better." Johnathan said. "Now lets get some rest for tomorrow."

"Mhm!" She replied.

As Jonathan Closed his eyes he heard Erinas voice.

"Johnathan?" She asked,

"Yes my dear?" Johnathan responded.

"I love you." Erina said quietly.

"I love you too." Johnathan replied.

Johnathan fell asleep calmed, unaware of the horrors that awaited him the next day.
