Oozing confidence.

It took Chris a few seconds to process what he had just said because his mind was still in the gutter, especially with how Sky had leaned closer. So when he said, "Let's go— OUT?"

"WHAT?" Chris asked in surprise as he finally processed it.

Sky took off the second airpod and withdrew from the contact as he said, "To the supermart. You'll also get the chance to see around town, and we'll have brunch. I'm sure you haven't had anything to eat since morning."

Chris turned around at once, opened his wardrobe, and began to search for nothing at all. He only needed to distract himself and not risk letting Sky realize two things. One, how he had misunderstood that statement, and two, his raging hormones.

"And you think I'll just go with you?" Chris asked.

"Come on, I'll buy you brunch. And I'm sure you'd also like to buy some stuff for yourself. If you don't pick too many, I'll pay for them too."

Chris almost laughed. Can this guy even afford the kind of things he bought for himself?

But he had to admit, it felt nice to see someone offering to take him out and pay for his stuff. He was usually the one on the other end, doing that for his friends. No one had ever paid for his stuff except that they were using his card.

"Look at me," Sky said in a calm but demanding tone.

Annoyed, Chris turned around. "Can you just let me be?"

"Just today and I promise to let you be." He batted his lashes at Chris.

Well, he did want to look around instead of being cooped up in his bedroom.

When he saw Sky smiling, he frowned, asking, "What are you smiling for?"

"You are adorable when you try so hard not to fall for my charms."

Chris could not help laughing in disbelief. This guy's confidence needs to be taught in schools. "You wish."

"Come on, let's go." Sky prodded and tried to gently pull Chris by the hand, but Chris shrugged him off before gruffly saying, "I need to wear a sweater!"

And just like that, he forgot his promise to never speak to Sky anymore and followed him out.

However, Chris was still petty, so he decided to just snub him as they strolled side by side.

Sky was indeed popular because they had only walked down from their room to outside the dorm, but he had waved at over 20 people and even greeted some, much to Chris's annoyance.

"Why aren't we heading towards the parking lot?" Chris asked Sky when he noticed they were going in the opposite direction.

"Because I do not have a car," Sky answered, shrugging.

Chris looked at him in disbelief, wondering why a guy who was in college and already at least 20 didn't have a car.

"Why don't you have one?" He asked before he could stop himself.

"Well, do you have one?" Sky asked back.

Yes. He even had two sports cars and a bike.

"No?" He answered.

"So why did you think I had one?" He asked in amusement before saying, "I do use my parents' or uncles' sometimes. But it's not necessary to get one for now. This town is pretty small, and I need to use money for other things. Cars are very expensive."

During the time he said that, he waved at two different people.

They continued to walk until they got to a busy area with several tricycles moving about.

Sky gestured for him to get into one, and Chris just stood there, looking at it hesitantly.

He had never ridden in a tricycle before, so he was reluctant.

"Come on!" Sky urged him after he got in and tapped the spot next to him.

Reluctantly, Chris joined him inside and surprisingly enjoyed the ride.

Sky pointed at some really nice spots and told him things about them. The town was really beautiful and neat, with a lot of well-groomed trees.

They passed by a local market, a large cathedral, the district's police station, and, surprisingly, a really large hotel that had his family's business logo and name.

He had no idea they had one here.

"I've never even been in there before, even though I've lived here all my life. It was recently bought and had the name changed." He told Chris.

"How recently?" Chris asked, curious.

"Like a few weeks ago 'recently'."

Chris furrowed his brows. Was it a coincidence or had his parents done so because he was here?

He was about to wonder why his parents didn't mention it, but he remembered he had never shown any interest in their family business.

After a 15-minute ride, they finally arrived at the very large mall.

"There were other marts along the way; why did we have to come all the way here?" Chris asked him as he made to pay the driver instinctively, but Sky beat him to it.

"Because I wanted you to see the town and also have a nice experience here. Not only is this mall cheaper, but it also has a large variety of things you can choose from."

Chris hummed and nodded as he followed Sky's lead.

As usual, they got several looks, and it didn't hurt his ego this time because some ladies seemed to also be checking him out.

Sky also greeted a couple of people, and Chris just chose to stand by and not get involved.

"I'm sorry about all the interruptions. I have to greet them back."

Chris shrugged. Even surprised the guy was bothering to apologize to him.

"Would you like to eat first or shop for items first?" Sky asked him.

"I'm not going to follow you about shopping with an empty stomach," Chris grumbled.

Honestly, he was starving.

"Eat first, then," Sky said as he began to lead him in the direction of an eatery.

Chris watched him.

Sky strode with confidence, his hands buried in the pocket of his sweater at the front, while the hood covering his hair was halfway backwards, revealing the sides of his face and hair.

"You must be happy." Sky suddenly said and turned to lock eyes with Chris, who had been staring.

"Why?" Chris asked, confused.

"Being out here on a date with me." Sky grinned and then winked at Chris before laughing at his annoyed look.

'God, I hate him!' Chris thought to himself.

Nice to see y'all still here.
