2 New World

It's already been 5 years since I was born in 'Wishe Forest'. I inherited my mother's gold hair and my father's red eyes. I was born into the royal family of an elven kingdom. My name was 'Oberon Aendryr Wishe', my mother's name was 'Viska Aendryr Wishe', and my father's name was 'Levos Aendryr Wishe'. Both of them have taken good care of me since I was born. My mother was very kind and caring; maybe it had to do with me as her firstborn child.

My father was rarely at home with his family because of his role as the noble that governs Wishe Forest, but when he does have free time, he makes sure to spend most of it with me. Father did spend some of his time teaching me how to ride a deer (the deer is the mode of transportation for the elven race that lives inside a forest) and sometimes teaching our family secret magic. Thanks to that, he makes Mother angry because I am still a child because my mana circulation is not fully mature yet.

So I spend most of my time inside a library that our family has. I started by learning about Gekai geography, but it was not fully mapped yet. Most of the important cities and kingdoms are connected by land. In the south of Wishe Forest, there is 'Telskyura', which is made of Amazonesses. They are all women as their citizens, and any man who tries to enter will get killed or be used as breeding stock if the man is strong enough.

'That interesting civilization. Maybe if I had a chance, I would like to see their costume.'

In the West, there is a country that is well known for its entertainment. If you go farther west, you will arrive at 'Orario', which is known as the center of the world and is located at the western corner of the continent. It is considered one of the three great unexplored regions of the world, and there you can find the Tower of Babel, where all the adventurers gather.

'Hm, there is no record of how high the tower was.'

In the north, there is 'Ashenia Forest', one of the elven settlements, and if you go further north, you will find 'Altenia' is a country famous for its magic. They are also considered to be one of the stronger countries and possess several high-level people.

In the East, there is a country, but it's already being abandoned by the citizens. The remains of what was once the largest country on the continent were destroyed in a single night. It is an uninhabitable place where monsters live. There is an island country called the Far East. An island country is surrounded by water and has four distinct seasons. It is a country wrought with wars, diseases, and monsters.

'Hm, there is a place that I want to explore, and there are some that I want to avoid, but there is a single country that gets erased in a single night. Is that caused by a monster or another country? No, most likely by a monster, but what kind of monster does have such capability?'

After years of learning most of the geography of this world, I still believe there is some area that is not fully explored and recorded.

'Now time to learn the biology of the Gekai world.'

Many races exist in this Gekai world. The first was the Elven race. The Elven were a race that was well known for their beauty and their capability to use magic. There are three types of elves. There is a high elf, a dark elf, and a normal elf.

'Hm, is there no half-elf... I know there is an elf that lives outside of this kingdom; there is a chance they will fall in love with another race. Maybe I should ask my mother.'

There are human races; they are called the weakest among the races, but they are well known for their number and adaptability to every situation. That is why there are many human settlements in the Gekai world, and then there are the Dwarves, a demi-human race of short people. They have considerable strength. They are also known for their aptitude for tasks that involve earth and rocks, like mining and construction.

Pallum is a Demi-Human race of small people. Like humans, they are generally said to be the weakest race, but they have excellent sight that allows them to see in the dark.

Amazoness is a Demi-Human race of dark-skinned women. Since they only give birth to Amazonesses, they have to leave their villages to find men. Due to their instinct to breed strong descendants, they desire to breed with any man they deem strong, and so they tend to fall in love with males that defeat them.

'I think I've avoided dueling any Amazoness woman; I don't want to be targeted by women in heat.'

Boas Boaz is a Demi-Human race of boar people. They have the highest physical ability among Beast Humans, along with Weretigers. Weretigers are a demi-human race that has tiger ears and a tail. They have the highest physical ability among Beast Humans, along with Boaz.

There are so many more Demi-Human races that exist in the Gekai world. They have a body like a human, but they are mixed with animal traits. There are Werewolf, Sheep, Renard (a race that has fox ears and a tail), Racoon, Hume Bunny, Cat People, and Bulls. I believe there is more that is still undocumented, and there is a race called God.

Gods are not what you can call people because they are exactly what they call 'gods', but each one of them has a different name and divinity. They came from heaven a thousand years ago in search of entertainment, and for that, they created a group of people called 'Familia' to be used by their god to help gods achieve their goal.

'So goddess Ereshkigal said that true gods do walk among the mortals.'

This world has already existed for more than a thousand years. The gods and goddesses started to descend from heaven almost a thousand years ago, but they had a limitation rule that must be obeyed. If they don't obey the rule, they will be forced to be sent back to heaven.

There is a rule set by heaven, like if god or goddess use their divine power, they will be sent back to heaven, but there is a rule set by the guild or kingdom that god and goddess must obey. Something that interests me the most is God's blessing.

When you have a god or goddess's blessing, a mortal can become more powerful. Because of that, most of the adventurers tried to join Familia because of the reward they got from the gods or goddesses. When you join Familia, you can get their blessing, so you can surpass the mortal limit that benefits them in their quest. As an exchange, you must obey whatever their gods or goddesses are bidding.

'I know that most of the gods are not evil, but I must approach them with caution.'

Because of how interesting the book is, I forgot what time it was and did not pay much attention to my surroundings. My mother was calling me for dinner, but, seeing me not pay attention to her, she went behind me. then I felt some were tickling my skin.

"Hump! ha-ha hahaha stop Mother, haha, please stop hahaha."

Then she picked me up, and I could see her face, which was not happy to be ignored.

"You always like that, reading a book without thinking about time for dinner."

I lowered my head to apologize to her.

"I am sorry, Mother; I was just too concentrated to read the book."

Then she laid her eyes on the book.

"Geography of Genkai World... Oberon, are you interested in becoming an adventurer?"

"Yes, Mother, I want to learn and experience the world, and I want to become strong for that."

"Why do you want to become strong, Oberon?"

My home was indeed safe; there was no monster or enemy that I was aware of that could pose any danger for me and my family, but my knowledge was limited, and my awareness of the world made it still laughable to draw any conclusion that this life would continue.

"This world is big, and there is a monster here, Mother. I know our home is safe, but my intuition tells me it's not always peaceful like this in the future, so I want to be prepared so I can protect our family and my future family, Mother."

Then her eyes widen, and she smiles.

"I understand, Oberon, my child; you are 6 years old, yet you are thinking far ahead. Mother will not stop you, and your father will think the same, Oberon."

Then she hugs me tightly.

"But please stay by our sides until you are fifteen and become more proficient with your magic. Your father and I will teach you everything you need to know to survive; we don't want to lose our only beloved son."

I just nodded and hugged her back.

"Yes, Mother, I will. Even when we are far away from each other, our family bond will never break, and I will become strong enough that you will never be worried about me."

"fufufu good. Then it's time for dinner; your mother cooks your favorite food, and to make sure you grow strong, you need to eat healthily."

Then we went downstairs, with my mother still carrying me. My house was made from craft up big three that are amazingly still alive, and I could see there was a green leaf inside close to my window. After I walked down the stairs and went to the dining room, I could see my father was there with us.

'It's kind of embarrassing, but I feel so warm and safe in her embrace.'

"Viska, as always, you like to spoil him. Well, I know he's our first child, but it's not wise to spoil him too much, you know."

My father, Levos Aendryr Wishe, is the most powerful elf mage in Wishe Forest. The Aendryr family is one of the noble families in the Elven kingdom that had a duty to protect and manage the people of the Wishe Forrest. Compared to the Nouble family in my former world, the family was not corrupted by the power they had. I know this because my mother always taught me to use our power for the sake of others, not the other way around.

The nobles of the Elven Kingdom must protect the people of the Elven Kingdom because their high-level mana quality makes them proficient with magic, which is the main reason why every Elven Kingdom citizen respects them.

"Levos, I just want to spend time with Oberon as much as I can because a child grows so fast."

Then Mother put me on the chair beside her.

"Well, I can't argue with that. *sigh* Okay, Oberon, what have you learned today? I see you spend most of your time in the library; that means you can read now, right?"

"Yes, Father! Thanks to Mother, I can read myself. Today I learned the geography of the 'Genkai' world."

"Ho, that means you are interested in traveling around the world, correct?"

"Yes, Father, Mother told me she will let me travel around the world, but, on three conditions, I must be fifteen, master all our family magic, and learn all survival skills needed to survive."

"I see."

Then my father stares at my mother, and she tries not to make eye contact.

"*sigh* Your mother probably says I will say yes to it; it's true because you are a curious type of child. If I try to say no, you will probably try to leave this place. I know because Riveria, the daughter of King Larfal, just left his house. Right now they are searching for her; I doubt they can find her; even if they did, she would probably try to escape again."

'Well, he's not wrong; I want to see this world with my eye and find the love of my life.'

My body is not yet mature enough to move freely, and my mana capacity does not change at all. I have already done some experiments to make sure that I am right.

"I am sorry, Father, to make you and Mother worried, but I will make sure to learn and train hard to make you less worried."

"Good, Oberon; at least you know we are worried. I know you are a brilliant child; in the future, I believe you will be a famous mages. When that happens, King Larfal will have his eyes on you, so be ready, Oberon; tomorrow we will train you how to use all my magic techniques."

"Thank you, Father."

After dinner, my mother put me in bed.

"Good night, Oberon, Do your best tomorrow."

"Yes, Mother, I will do my best."

Then she kisses me on the forehead and turns off the light.

I am now at the training grounds at the back of my house. I am trying to cast magic spells so I can consider myself worthy of being the head of the Aendryr family. To be the ruler of an area of Wishe Forest and fulfill my duty to protect my people, like it or not, I must be able to use one of my family's special magics.

"Fire of passion, fire of desire, Burn away all that which does not serve, ignite my will with your bright fire, and give me strength to manifest my dreams. Come to me, so I may lead you again, shining and bright. hear my plea, help me find, A sign or a light to a doorway, Dragon Breath—my name is Wishe."

Then I can feel the heat of fire come out of my palm like a dragon breathing his great fire and burning their enemies and turning them into ashes.

"Good job, Oberon; you are now able to become the head of this family if you want, but..."

My mother looks at the aftermath of the magic that I just produced. Mother had mixed feelings; she was proud and feared a bit of my great potential.

"Oberon, always be careful when you try to cast that spell again. You can hurt somebody or your friend if you are not careful."

"I understand, Mother."

I see my mother's expression change a bit.

"Mother?"

I am a bit worried when I see Mother looking sad.

"Mother, did I do something wrong?"

"Hm, no, of course not. It's just that I feel sad that there is nothing that I can teach you anymore. I love every single day we spend learning magic, but now there is nothing that I can teach you anymore, Oberon."

"I see, but I am not sure if there is something that Mother can teach me. I have not fully learned yet about monsters and history. To be honest, Mother, I still want you to teach me, even if it's not about magic." Then she hugged me.

"Sure, we can learn about our races and family history, and I will teach you how to impress an elven woman."

After learning all of my family's secret magic, I spend my time training my body and mind. For my body, I run for 2 km because my backyard is big enough for my training. After running, I do some squats 30 times, then push up 30 times. I swung my sword until my hands couldn't do it anymore, every day. If my earth-made sword feels lighter, I will increase the weight of the sword to increase my strength.

When my mother sees me train so hard, she always uses healing spells to ease the pain in my muscles. Thanks to my mother, I can continue to do my daily training without suffering any sore muscles. I pause my daily training to practice my magic and practice riding a deer that my father gave me as a present for my tenth birthday. I gave her the name 'Tanyl' and she can run at a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour. She can keep the speed for 40 minutes; that's what my father told me, but I don't want to push her too much, which makes her suffer and get injured.

"Good job, Tanyl." I always pet her back when we finish the training.

"Ruff"

When feeding her, one of the housemaids told me that Father was back from his patrol. He has been busy patrolling the southern border because monster activity has become more frequent than normal. Then I went back to my house, and before I faced my father, I cleaned myself of the unwanted smells.

I saw my mother and father silently waiting for me, and I could feel the heavy atmosphere.

"Father, welcome home. Thank you for your hard work."

"Hm. Thank you, Oberon. I am sorry, but there is something that I want to talk about."

"Sure, Father."

I took my seat right beside my mother.

"Oberon, I want you to help me repeal the monster horde that is heading to our forest." 

"Levos, I think it's too soon for our child to face a real battle. It's not like I don't trust his ability; I just think he's still a boy."

"I know Viska, but if I don't involve Oberon, there is a high chance that there will be casualties on our side, and I want to avoid that."

'I see, I know Father will not put me in danger if he doesn't have any choice left.'

"I understand, Father, I will land my hands."

"Oberon, it-"

"I am sorry, Mother. This time, I must disagree with Mother. I know that Father does not make decisions that put me in great danger unless he is forced to. So please, Mother, let me help Father and our people."

I can see my mother still seeming hesitant about my decision, but she knows that what I said was right; this was an emergency.

"I understand, Oberon, but please promise me to be careful."

"Yes, Mother, I promise."

"Thank you, Oberon, for accepting your father's selfish request. We are heading tomorrow morning; make sure you are prepared."

"Yes, Father."
