Chapter 3

Kagurabachi Kamo, with the trembling child still cradled in his arms, turned to Nobara Kugasaki. "Looks like our work here is done. Let's get this little guy to safety."

Nobara nodded, her expression softening as she looked at the terrified child. "Yeah, let's get out of here."

The two jujutsu sorcerers made their way out of the building, the child's shaky breaths the only sound breaking the eerie silence. As they stepped out into the sunlight, they spotted Gojo Satoru, Megumi Fushiguro, and Yuji Itadori waiting for them.

Gojo's ever-present grin widened as he caught sight of the duo. "Hey." His gaze fell on the child in Kamo's arms, and his expression softened. "How are you doing little guy."

Megumi's eyes narrowed as he studied the child, his face impassive. "Is he alright?"

Nobara nodded, her grip tightening on her hammer. "Yeah, thanks to this guy." She jerked her thumb in Kamo's direction, a hint of grudging respect in her tone.

Kamo flashed a cocky grin. "What can I say, I'm just that good." He shifted the child in his arms, his expression sobering. "But the kid's pretty shaken up. I should probably get him home."

Yuji stepped forward, his brow furrowed in concern. "Do you need any help with that?"

Kamo shook his head, his grip on the child tightening protectively. "Nah, I've got this. You guys go ahead and grab a bite to eat. I'll catch up with you later."

Gojo clapped his hands together, his grin widening. "Sounds like a plan! Come on, kids, let's see what kind of trouble we can find."

Kamo watched them go, then turned to the child in his arms.

"Alright, little guy, let's get you home." He started to walk, his pace steady and measured, the child's trembling form cradled against his chest.

As Kamo made his way through the streets of Tokyo, the child slowly began to relax, his breathing evening out. Kamo glanced down at him, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

The child looked up at him, his eyes still wide with fear, but a glimmer of trust beginning to emerge. Kamo's smile widened, and he picked up his pace, determined to get the boy home as quickly as possible.

It didn't take long for Kamo to reach the child's residence, a modest apartment building in a quiet neighborhood. He paused at the entrance, shifting the boy in his arms.

Taking a deep breath, Kamo raised his fist and rapped firmly against the weathered wood. He waited, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of movement.

After a moment, the door creaked open, and Kamo found himself face-to-face with a young woman. She was around his age, her delicate features framed by a cascade of dark hair. Her eyes widened as she caught sight of the child in Kamo's arms.

"Takeshi!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with relief and concern. Without a moment's hesitation, the child – Takeshi – wriggled free from Kamo's grasp and ran into his sister's embrace.

"Sis!" Takeshi cried, his small body trembling as he clung to the young woman. "I was so scared!"

The sister wrapped her arms around Takeshi, her expression a mixture of joy and worry. "Oh, Takeshi, I'm so glad you're safe." She glanced up at Kamo, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you for bringing him home."

Kamo nodded, his gaze softening as he watched the siblings' reunion. "It was no trouble," he said, his voice gruff but sincere. "I'm just glad I could help."

The sister smiled, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "I don't know how to thank you." She paused, her brow furrowing. "I'm sorry, I didn't even ask your name."

"Kagurabachi Kamo," Kamo replied, offering her a small smile. "And it's really no need to thank me. I was just doing my job."

The sister nodded, her own smile widening. "Well, Kamo-san, I'm Ayame. And this is my little brother, Takeshi." She tightened her hold on Takeshi, her expression turning serious. "What happened to him? Is he alright?"

Kagurabachi Kamo, who had been seemingly lost in Ayame's eyes, suddenly snapped out of his reverie. He cleared his throat and met her gaze with a reassuring expression.

"He's fine, just got a little lost, nothing to worry about," Kamo said, his voice level and calm.

Ayame's shoulders visibly relaxed, and she offered Kamo a grateful smile. "I'm so relieved to hear that. Thank you again for bringing him home safely."

Kamo nodded, his eyes flicking briefly to the child clinging to Ayame's side. "Of course. I'm just glad I could help."

Ayame gave Kagura a little smile. "I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new to the area?"

Kamo shook his head. "Not really. I came here with my high school friends and teacher. One of my classmates is new to Tokyo, so our sensei wanted to give her a tour or something."

Ayame's eyes widened slightly. "Oh, I see. That's very kind of your teacher to show your friend around." She paused, her gaze flickering down to Takeshi, who was still clinging to her side. "I'm glad Takeshi had someone to help him. He can be a bit of a wanderer sometimes."

Kamo let out a slight chuckle, a hint of apprehension in his tone. "Yes, he truly cares for us," he said, then inquired, "Say, do you happen to know a good spot to grab some coffee?"

Author's thoughts:

A little shorter than usual chapter as it was super hard for my anti-social ass to write a female interaction. I will however try my best to improve the upload schedule. Please do tell me though, what you think of my writing so far?

Is the prose and grammar to your satisfaction?

What grade do you think our mc should be after the training he went through?

(The name of mc was changed to Kagurabachi Kamo to give homage to the goated manga series Kagurabachi of the insistence of our dear Honoured_Writer)

Don't forget to give me all your power stones....
